Ongsa's POV:
My leg bounces nervously as I fiddle with the box in my pocket, making sure it's still tucked away.
I couldn't bear to lose it now.
My fingertips graze over the velvet surface, tracing the edges as I replay what I'm going to say to her in my head.
My palms sweat and I quickly wipe them on my pants. She hasn't even walked in the house yet, and I'm already a nervous wreck.
Even after four years together, she never fails to make me nervous.
My heart speeds up whenever she walks into the room. The way she can literally do anything and make me fall for her all over again. The joy she has brought me throughout my life. Just the thought of her makes my stomach flip.
Sun has never failed to amaze me.
The doorknob clicks and I hear the front door open.
"Baby, I'm here!" I hear her call from downstairs.
Taking a deep breath, I run to a hand through my hair one more time before standing up and making my way down the stairs towards the front of the house.
"Well look at you, looking all spiffy."
I saw her eyes traveling across my outfit.
It's probably weird coming home to your girlfriend dressed in a button up and slacks like she's about to take you out on a date.
Which is exactly what I'm about to do.
"Hello, my love." I go over and wrap my arms around her waist, leaning down for a quick kiss.
"I laid out an outfit for you on our bed, go get dressed and meet me in the backyard."
She raises her eyebrows at my request, but quickly agrees, placing a small kiss on my cheek before hurrying up the stairs to our bedroom.
Letting out a breath, I turn around and make sure everything in the backyard is set up perfectly, from the table and cloth to the wine bottle and glasses.
A few minutes later, she comes down the stairs, looking cute as hell in the outfit I picked out for her.
I probably shouldn't have chosen that dress, cause I might drool my shit all night.
As I said, she never fails to amaze me.
"You look so beautiful." I whisper, kissing her temple.
"Thank you" She says shyly, looking up at me.
I take her hand and lead her towards the door that opens to the backyard.
"I thought for our anniversary we could do something special." I open the door for her to see. "I hope it's not too much."
She's speechless, but I have no idea if it's in a good way or a bad way.
A small circular table with a white tablecloth sits in the center of our patio, the hanging porch lights illuminating the area. A wine bottle and glasses sit on the table, along with a home cooked meal for dinner and a vase of roses to top it off.
"Oh Ongsa...it's beautiful. Thank you." She whispers, looking at the setup in awe.
"Shall we?" I ask.
"Absolutely."
I walk over and pull out her chair before sitting across from her.
This could all end up to be the perfect night,
She just needs to say yes.
Sun’s POV:
Both of our plates are emptied and our conversation has slowly dwindled down.
I can't help but smile at the girl sitting across from me. Her beautiful brown eyes staring into my own as I admire her.
Her long hair falls naturally over his forehead as she runs her hand through it, slightly messing it up but just making herself cuter. She looked like a Samoyed dog.
I've known Ongsa for over four years, and I can tell that she's nervous. But I hold myself back from questioning it, because I know she wants everything to go perfectly tonight. That's just how she is.
Music plays softly in the background, setting the mood for our small backyard dinner date.
The first song we slowly danced together.
`Tattooed Heart
Ongsa gets up from her chair, holding her hand out to me and I smile. I don't think tonight could get any more romantic than this.
I take her hand and she lifts me out of my chair, leading me away from the table.
She stops and pulls me toward her, resting her hands against my waist. I drape my hands around her shoulders and we slowly sway back and forth to the song.
"I remember the first moment I saw you." Ongsa says softly, looking down at me.
My face heats up and she chuckles softly, I always get flustered when she talks this way to me.
“I just got out of your car, I was mesmerized by your beauty that I didn't notice you've been talking to me, never knew you existed until then.”
She lets out a light laugh, reaching down to brush a strand of hair from my face as she continues.
"I love you. I've loved you ever since I saw you five years ago and for the 2nd time on the bleachers watching me. And I swear to god, I still thank Blossom for dragging me to that 1v1 game."
A small laugh escapes both of our lips, because we both know I did not want to be in those stands watching Ongsa beaten up by our colleague.
"I know I have my moments, and I will always regret the days I let my emotions get the best of me. But you've stayed by my side even though I've given you every reason not to."
Tears start to form in my eyes at her words. Why is she being like this?
"I want to be by your side through thick and thin. In the rain and in the sunshine. For every little memory, I want to be there making it with you."
She lets go of my waist and gets down on a knee, pulling out a black velvet box from her back pocket.
Tears well up in my eyes as I realize what this was all about.
It wasn't just an anniversary dinner.
It was a proposal dinner.
"Sun, will you do the honor of making me the happiest woman alive and becoming my wife?"
My heart stops as the words leave her mouth.
I've always known I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.
All I have to do is say yes.
So I do.
“Yes Ongsa, I'll be your wife.”
-The End.
