New Family at Black Manor

When Hermione landed, she looked around in shock. The room was a perfect mix between light and dark. Hermione could feel the energy of the manor. She just wasn't sure why she could feel it. "Do you like it?" Narcissa asked her quietly. Hermione turned around with a grin and hugged her. "Yes! I love this room. It feels so comfortable!" Narcissa smiled at Hermione and walked over to the door. "This room is for the ladies in the house to get away from the men when they cause trouble." The door opened to reveal Bellatrix. Bella motioned for them to follow her and walked away. After glancing at her aunt, Hermione slowly followed. "I wasn't sure what you would want for a bedroom, so I kept it plain. You can decorate it however you'd like." Hermione looked at Bella, unsure if she was being honest. "I don't know how, but I know I can trust you. It's going to take me time to get used to you being nice to me. Please just give me the space I need and we can go from there?" Hermione looked up at Bellatrix shyly. Looking back at her daughter, Bellatrix sighed. "Look. I know that I haven't really acted like the most stable person in my life, but there are things you need to know. Things only I can tell you. But I need you to trust me when I talk to you. So if I must, then yes, I will give you the time and space you need. I'll also try to make sure Draco doesn't bother you too much while you're here. You know how he can get.”

Hermione laughed. "I've dealt with Draco for five years now. I can handle him myself. Honestly, though, it's not even him I'm worried about." Bellatrix looked at her daughter quizzically. "Who are you worried about? If it's your friends..." She trailed off when a look of pure horror crossed Hermione's face. Pulling a stone from her pocket, she calmed (if only slightly). Bellatrix frowned. "Who's lifestone is that and why the blazes do you have it?" she asked, clearly trying not to panic at the possible implications. The fact that Hermione (still being a child) had someone else's lifestone was concerning. Parents or guardians usually keep their children's lifestone until the child's majority, and it is then given to the child on their 17th birthday, unless the child wants their parents to keep it. Pulling another stone from her other pocket, this one a bright and fiery red,  Hermione paled further. Hissing in pain, she dropped it onto the floor. "The lifestone is Harry's. We found it in Dumbledore’s office. We couldn't sleep so we went snooping around one night. Harry asked me to keep it in case something like this happened." Bellatrix healed the burn on Hermione's hand and asked about the other stone.

Starting down the stairs, Hermione replied. "I created the red stone specifically for Harry. It's for when he's scared or thinks he's in danger. It turns red and gets hot when he activates it. I need Uncle Abraxas. We need to get Harry here before that damn whale of a man he calls his 'uncle' kills him." Arriving in the sitting room, she grabbed Abraxas' hand and turned back to her mother. "I'll let you explain this to them." With that, Hermione and her uncle disapparated.

Landing in what Hermione knew to be an unused alley not far from Harry's house, she quickly walks out of the alley, pulling Abraxas with her. "Mia slow down!" Abraxas said trying to get her to listen but she just kept going. Eventually slowing down, they came to a gate hidden by some bushes. Crouching down so they weren't seen, they waited and listened. Soon, they heard a loud crash followed by a man screaming. "That damned whale." Hermione muttered darkly. Sending a shocked look towards Hermione, Abraxas slowly opened the gate. Creeping through the yard to the backdoor, they could finally hear what the man was saying. "You filthy ungrateful bastard! I should've gotten rid of you years ago! I told you what I'd do if I found that disgusting bird in my house again!" At the sound of a gun being cocked, Hermione and Abraxas rushed through the door. And then they froze. They were in what was left of the kitchen, that much was clear. Vernon Dursley had thrown Harry through the wall, sending a major portion to go with him. Harry had landed in the living room and was currently protecting Hedwig with his own body begging desperately. "Please sir! Please! It's not her fault. Please don't hurt her sir!" Hermione was furious and her magic reacted to her fury. Her magic pulsed outward, reaching for her brother and his familiar. When their magics connected, Harry looked up with relief evident on his face. Glaring at the monster that was turning toward her, Hermione pointed her wand at him and, with an eerily calm voice said, "get away from my brother, now. Before I give you a reason to truly fear magic."

As the man backed away, he was roughly handcuffed by Abraxas. Turning back towards Harry, Hermione realized just how injured he was. His head and nose were bleeding, and he was now cradling his right arm. "You made it." He said, smiling at his sister, before faceplanting into the carpet. "Harry! Harry wake up!" Hermione cried, turning to Abraxas with worried looks on both of their faces. "Take him to the Manor. Ask Lucius to call the family healer. Hurry, get your brother home." Abraxas said softly. Nodding, Hermione gently lifted Hedwig onto her shoulder. Wrapping her arms around Harry tightly, she said, "I'll see you soon Uncle." And she disapparated.

Abraxas turned back to Vernon just in time to see his face turn a magnificent shade of purple. "Just who the hell do you think you are, bringing that freakishness into my house?!" The whale screeched, sounding suspiciously like a banshee (Abraxas would know the sound). Staring at the man for a moment,  Abraxas replied. "I am the best of your worst nightmares. You'd better hope you're gone before she comes back." Smirking, Abraxas pulled the mirror from her pocket once more. Activating it, he said, "Sir, the problem is bigger than we thought." Tilting his head, his boss spoke in a garbled voice. "What is it this time Unspeakable Malfoy?" Abraxas sighed before speaking. "Harry Potter has been abused. From the looks of it, it's been happening for a while. Possibly his entire life." His boss landed forward quickly and pressed a button. Abraxas swore he could feel his boss's fury through the mirror. "Aurors will be there soon. I assume you were correct about him living with the muggles?" Abraxas nodded solemnly. Swearing, his boss spoke to someone out of sight. "Floo the goblins. Have them send their best wardsmiths to the house!" He shouted angrily.
