You're Losing Me
Summary
Sirius and Remus had always had two different perspectives on their love, and now, it's slipping away from their reach.Based on "You're Losing Me" by Taylor Swift.

"You say, "I don't understand," and I say, "I know you don't"
We thought a cure would come through in time, now, I fear it won't
Remember lookin' at this room, we loved it 'cause of the light
Now, I just sit in the dark and wonder if it's time"

"Remus, why can't you just tell me what is wrong?" Sirius asked. Remus knew he would never understand. Sirius didn't see it the way Remus did. See, Remus knew from the second him and Sirius shared their first kiss, that it would never last forever, despite how much he wanted it to. Sirius didn't understand that, Sirius loved Remus carelessly despite all the issues and fights they had. They were falling apart but Sirius was too blinded by love to notice it. Remus thought they were just in a weird funk for a bit, but its ending. He's sure of it. Everyday was a new fight, everything Remus did pissed Sirius off. They were absolutely positively sick of each other, there was no saving this. But alas, Sirius would never admit that as easy as Remus would.

It's the dead of night, Sirius is fast asleep. Remus sits on the floor of their shared bedroom and wonders how to make Sirius understand it's time to go. Remus didn't want it to be time, but he couldn't push it down and ignore it. He wasn't like Sirius or James in that sense.

"Do I throw out everything we built or keep it?
I'm getting tired even for a phoenix
Always risin' from the ashes
Mendin' all her gashes
You might just have dealt the final blow"

Remus wanted to be like Sirius. He wanted to ignore the fact that the garden they grew together is wilting. He didn't want to be the one to throw that all away, he didn't want to hurt Sirius. But staying is hurting himself. After every fight, Remus is broken down to pieces, always putting himself back together for the sake of his love. But he's exhausted.

It's 3AM, Sirius stumbles into the door of their flat after a night out with James and Lily. "Why were you out so late?" Remus questions. "Do you really have to know every fucking thing I do?" Sirius says, drunkenly. "No, I was worried, Sirius" "Well stop worrying, you bloody wolf"

"Stop, you're losin' me
Stop, you're losin' me
Stop, you're losin' me
I can't find a pulse
My heart won't start anymore
For you
'Cause you're losin' me"

Remus knew they were done for. Sirius had officially lost him. Remus no longer felt those fireworks he used to feel whenever he looked into Sirius's eyes, he just felt empty. It was a feeling he could barely name, how was it possible to go from loving someone so endlessly to feeling nothing so quickly? True love isn't lost so easily, right?
