Chapter 6

"Star-crossed lovers are lovers of fate. Written into the stars."

"What are you hiding?"

Harry sighed, Tom, over the past few days had begun to adapt a habit of never; ever, leaving harry alone, harry had wanted to ask orion about the incident in the common room, where everyone was deadly silent for no apparent reason, but there was one problem; Tom would not let him.

"I'm not hiding anything." He grumbled under his breath, subconsciously picking up the pace so he may reach the libary quicker; and therefore escape Tom for a few hours.

"Why don't you tell anyone about your life, then? Not even orion? I thought you two were...close." Tom; who seemed to be unbothered by harry's quickened pace, was obviously getting agitated with harry's refusal to answer any questions he threw at him.

The libary doors came into view of harry, and he hurried even more, ultimately determined to reach it before Tom tried to force the answers out of him.

Just as he reached the doors, and had started to open one, it was slammed shut, so fast that his hair flew upwards for a few seconds before returning to their natural state of being a tangled mess ontop of his head.

"Ignoring me now, are you harrison?" Tom seemed like he would almost sneer at the shorter boy, but he still remained composed and perfect, the slimy git

"My parents are dead, I was muggle-raised by my aunt-", seeing Tom's mouth start to open to pry, harry quickly cut him off and countined,

"-before you ask, no, she was the sister of my mother; non-magical, you cannot find her records here or anywhere in the wizarding world."

With that, he reopened the door and closed it before Tom had the chance to think of a response.

"Shhh!" A lady shushed him, he smiled apologetically as she glared at him.

Harry looked around the space, it seemed to be almost bigger then it was right now; in his real world.

This was going to take a while.

"Is this what you're looking for?" A voice from behind him called, harry whipped around so fast he thought he would loose balance,

Infront of him was none other then Druella Rosier, however this time her hair was done-up in a quite beautiful braid onto of her head, while she held a book in one hand out to him;

All To Those Interested In The Power And Consequences Of Use Of Time.

"Thank you," harry took the book out of the girls hands and placed it into his bag, silently praying she wouldn't question him about it, because what on earth could he say?

"But how do you know I needed it?"

Druella smiled,

"Will you be coming to slughorns get-together tonight? You're invited." She clicked open her bag with a simple movement of her finger and pulled out a warm-coloured card with loopy writing that swirled as harry read;

YOU: Harrison Potter, are formally invited to the

S L U G H O R N ' S  P A R T Y

See you soon !

Nine o'clock, on the S H A R P .

"Thank you, Druella, but I don't think I'll go." Druella's smile quickly faded into a disappointing frown; almost instantly harry wanted to take back his words, she looked so melancholic, even her hair seemed to deflate slightly.

"Oh, but you must! I simply cannot go if you do not, that would be horrid hospitality, well if you are not expecting to go, then I shall not go either! I mustn't."

"What? Oh, that's not what I meant-, you can go-"

"Druella? Harry?, dearest me, why on earth are you two still doing here?" Orion's voice interrupted them both, he seemed to have walked into the libary without either of them even noticing.

He wore a black suit, his curls almost camouflaging into it, the only thing that really stuck out was his fair pale skin.

"And harry? Is that truly what you are wearing yo a party?"

"Oh, orion! It is horrid! Harrison, dearest, has said he will not be going, can you believe it?"

Orion's eyes widened,

"What ?"

A few minutes later, harry was forced into orion's spair black suit and profusely pampered by Druella as Walburga simply watched, smirking.

"Do I really need-, this much blush?" Harry asked as druella levitated a mirror so he could just what she done to his face.

"Make-up, is for ladies, druella." Walburga commented, druella turned to the older girl and rolled her eyes playfully before turning back to harry in his flushed state.

"It's just a little blush, and you do rather need it, you look a little too pale for my liking, you look lovely." Druella smiled as she applied her own blush onto her cheeks, harry thought it was quite pointless, as she was naturally pink, what was the point of adding more?

Oh well, he'd never ever get what goes through a woman's mind.

He'd truly never get what goes through a womans head after this party.

Harry and the girls arrived at the party, orion stood near the entrance, waiting for their arrival, the room was surprisingly large and almost everyone he could see was dolled up in expensive suits and dresses as they chatted to eachother; drinks in hand.

He went to talk to orion, distancing from the girls as they almost immediately dispersed to go talk to other people they knew or get themselves a drink.

Harry was almost suprised when he did not see Tom in sight, but then again he was probably just in a corner somewhere, where harry couldn't see.

As the night drew on, he decided he had enough and went to go find druella to inform her, he'd be leaving now. (Orion was much too drunk to care at this moment.)

He soon found her just outside the party itself, in a small hallway, he was about to call out to her when he realised she was with someone.

A tall outline of a man? Infront of her.

"I-" She seemed to stutter, "I can't, you know, I can't."

From harry's spot in the dark, he saw the man lower his head and start to cup her cheek, harry searched for his wand in his pocket, ready to cast any curses if this man tried anything.

"I know, I won't force you, but I'm not lying, I wouldn't lie to you, dru."

Harry blinked, that voice was familiar.

Where did he hear it?

"Roy..I-"

It clicked.

Lestrange?

"You shouldn't eavesdrop, it's rude." A voice whispered from just above his ear, a voice he could recognise from miles away.

"Riddle." He grumbled, ofcourse Tom would find him, he always did.

Harry turned away from Tom, back to Lestrange and Druella, only to see that they had somehow disappeared.

"They went back to the party, or outside, alone, how scandalous." The taller boy teased, his smirk getting more and more cocky as harry flushed at what he was suggesting.

"Druella wouldn't." She really wouldn't, she advocated for women's rights, she was sweet and kind to most people regardless of their blood status as long as they had proper manners. And lestrange?

Lestrange was half-done on his way to madness.

Druella didn't deserve that.

"How do you know what she will and won't do? With her own fiancé?" Harry felt himself become pale,

Fiancé

"Oh," Tom noticed the look of despair and confusion on Harry's face, "You didn't know? They'll be married in a few months."

Druella was organised, and precise, if this wedding was a few months away, she'd be perpearing for it, she would tell harry, wouldn't she?

They had become close, she was so like him that they become fast friends, she had a sense of humour just like ron's, and her interest in equality made her so like hermione, as well as her wit, which was so interesting especially when she used it against lestrange.

But to learn, after all this, she was going to marry him? Surely, this could not be true?

"You may ask her if you do not believe me."

For the first time that night, harry looked directly in Tom's eyes, they glistened in the moonlight that was let in through the windows above, he was wearing a black suit, identical to harry's, but ofcourse it suited him better.

His hair was perfect, as always, but a few strands was let askew, which should've made him less perfect, but it didn't.

It made him even more attractive.

Attractive? No, no, Tom wasn't...attractive.

That wasn't right but at this moment, Harry and his drunken mess of a brain didn't think too much of this thought.

"Why, thank you, harry." Tom chuckled, and at this moment, harry realised just how close they were to eachother.

"Shit, did I say that out-loud." Harry lowered his head, grumbling to himself, he's such an idiot.

Tom leaned in, his face mere inches away from harry's as he smiled, cupping his cheek, he made sure harry was in direct eye-line with him before placing his lips on harry's.

Harry's mind stopped.

The kiss felt so soft, not rough or in any way desperate, but gentle, it felt like hours passed, when in reality, it was mere seconds.

Tom pulled away, his smile turned into a smirk as he took in the red-faced boy beneath him.

He brushed harry's bottom lip with his thumb, as he stared into his eyes, only breaking the eye contact to gaze onto harry's lips, which seemed to be bright red, even with the gentleness of the kiss.

"Learn to keep your mind shields up, love."
