Chapter 3
Clack Clack Clack
Severus approaches the infirmary, his boots tapping against the old weathered stone of hogwarts. He knocks before entering, as is polite. There was the child, a small boy, smaller than most his age. He is clearly malnourished and is trembling quite violently under the covers of Pomfrey's old beds.
“Ah! Severus! I knew you would come. Harry, this is Severus Snape. He will be the one to care for you from now on. I promise he will not hurt you, if he does just tell me and I’ll deal with it.” Madam Pomfrey says, with a threatening smile thrown in Snape's direction. Snape can’t help but flinch, Merlin knows how Minerva is so comfortable around her. Frankly Severus is terrified of Pomfrey, though he would trust her with his life.
The boy sits up and rubs tears from his eyes. He nods at Pomfrey with a small sniffle before turning to look at Severus. He was a heart wrenching sight, truely. How anyone could harm this little boy Severus had no clue. The boy's entire torso was wrapped in bandages. Some crimson blood seeped through. He approached Harry slowly and crouched down to his level to ease the boy. He did not want to make him scared. “Parva ferox, do not fear me. I will not harm you, nor will I allow any more harm to come your way.” The little boy tilted his head “Parva…Ferox??” Severus nodded “Little fierce one in Latin. It can also mean Defiant or arrogant. If I am to raise you I will certainly be teaching you Latin, and Arabic. I can’t have a foolish child now can I?” Snape smiles teasingly.
“The boy is stable enough to leave. I assume you will be able to care for his wounds. I know I have taught you well. Goodbye Harry.” Pomfrey smiles softly at them and leaves the room. “Come along then Harrison. I would much prefer to leave while the sun is still set. It makes my skin itch and I have forgotten my umbrella.” Snape reaches out his hand for Harrison to grab.
