Chapter 2

THE INTERNET GOES WILD AS SINGER REGULUS BLACK AND ACTOR JAMES POTTER PUBLICLY ANNOUNCES THEIR BREAK UP!!

In an interview hosted by Rita Skeeter, the singer Regulus Black announces that his long relationship of 3 years with James Potter is now officially over. As for Potter, while being on a different interview, he implied that he and Black were no longer together. It was definitely hinted in both interviews that it has been more than a month from this break up.

Now, we never really got a deep dive on the reasoning for this sudden break up of the once sweet and lovingly open couple. From what we could tell, the break up was pretty smooth. There are no rough edges showing any signs of a bad break up.

Thus the fans were not very happy. These two were practically everything in the entertainment industry. Nonetheless, fans from both sides had hope that one day they would get back together. Even Lily Evans from the Valkyries had something to say about this break up. In her words, she stated “Who would’ve thought they would end? Sure, Sirius prayed for their break up, but only in a joking manner. He never meant it literally. Our group of friends thought they would stand tall like a wall until we were all dead, guess we spoke too soon. Do hope they somehow fix whatever their conflicts were and get back together. Somehow.” In addition, she even thought they were a perfect match, just like we did.  Their dynamic was quite literally one was the sun and the other was the moon. At least, that’s what we thought, maybe they were Icarus and the Sun all along. Icarus flew too close to the sun, his wax wings melted and he fell, therefore being separated.

“Jesus fucking Christ,” Evan blurted out as he lied down on his bed from the Airbnb they were staying in. “Already?” Evan rolled his eyes, “Give it a break, Evs, it’s been a week since I did that interview,” Regulus replied while he continued staring at their ceiling. “Still! I mean, when I found you two months ago, you were a fucking mess,” the blonde scoffed.

Now, he and James agreed upon not telling anybody about the break up for a little while, but Evan found out on his own. A month after their break up, Regulus was just so obviously torn even if it was because of him that they broke up. Evan noticed, even Barty noticed and Barty is a very oblivious person. The brunette noticing the sudden change was very telling of how evident Regulus’ feelings were.

Looking back, he found it very stupid that he broke up with James. Very, very stupid.

“Hey, motherfuckers!” Barty yelled as he slammed the door open. He was filled with energy, blatantly so. If Regulus could take a guess, it’s either he was high or he just had a cup or two of coffee.

“Barty, shut up, please,” Evan shot a sharp look into his boyfriend’s way. Just like a dog, he obliged. “What happened?” he started, “It’s so early in the morning and his blood’s already boiling,” Barty asked with full curiosity. “Take a look at this!” Evan yelled back, shoving his phone into the brunette’s face. “Holy shit,” Barty muttered quietly.

“Fuck the press and all their word spreading shit, this is absolute bullshit!” Evan yells, continuing his ramble. That’s just Evan, the moment you say shit about him, he doesn’t care, but when it comes to his friends, even saying the least offensive thing about them will probably get you a slap at it’s best.

“Okay, okay, Evs. You need to just calm down, okay?” Regulus stated in an attempt to settle him down as Evan kept pacing around. “Yeah, no,” Evan bluntly replied while he was still walking around the room.

“Hey, hey, little rose. Cool off a bit, I promise you, Regulus knows how to deal with the paparazzi and shits. He’ll be fine,” Barty wraps his arm around Evan, which forces Evan to sit down. There was just something about their dynamic that somehow, Barty is the only person out there that’s able to calm Evan down during these outbursts. It’s fascinating and wonderful. You could say Regulus is somewhat jealous, but hey, who wouldn’t be?

“You know, Dorcas will be at their family club tonight, why not pay a little visit?” Barty suggested, “Might even see her,” he added. “For the first time, that’s actually a pretty decent idea,” Regulus muttered as he drank his tea. “Yeah! Now is a good time to get drunk and wasted,” Evan exclaimed.

“Say, 6:00?” Regulus asked the other two. “Sure,” both replied in unison. Now that they were back to doing all that they wished to do, Regulus was so bored out of his mind that he ended up falling asleep.

After an hour or so went by, it was already half before 6. Once Evan and Barty finished taking a bath and getting ready, Regulus got himself ready as well. As 15 minutes went by, he was finished and all three of them got into a cab bringing them to The Meadowe’s Club.

The group of three had entered the club, immediately being seen by Dorcas and greeted with a large smile. “Hey, Meadowes!” Barty exclaimed, opening his arms up for an embrace. Dorcas also opened her arms to embrace Barty and moved on to hug the other two.

“So, how are you three doing?” she asked, after doing so she gave a pointed glance at Regulus, which was probably specifying about the break up. “I’m doing well,” Regulus was the first to reply. “Me and Barty are doing well,” Evan smiled as the brunette, Barty, was already downing his first drink. The blonde was giving him a sharp look that said, “Seriously?”

Dorcas merely laughed softly, “Alright, you three can sit over there, at that corner,” she smiled as she pointed to a booth near the entrance.

The trio waved their goodbye’s and sat down at the corner. As all three order their drinks, the couple went for the stronger one’s, while Regulus went for something slightly weaker. To be fair, Barty was the strongest drinker, Evan on the other hand, just liked the sharp sensation of the intoxicating alcohol, to say the least—Evan does not do well with drinks, meaning he easily gets drunk.

While the boys downed their drinks, Regulus couldn’t help but pay attention to the familiar group of four that went through the door. Well, only two of them caught him, his very own brother, and the man he once loved and still loved. Sirius Black and James Potter.

Evan and Barty didn’t notice the sudden change in the Black’s face when the quadruple walked in as they were too consumed by one another. In all honesty, they wouldn’t be able to do anything about it even if they did notice. It’s not like they can force the group to leave. All Regulus could hope was that he would not be noticed by James, Sirius or anyone from the group, other than Dorcas, of course.

Then again, the universe just had to jinx it all for Regulus. Within a minute or so of just being in the same room with James Potter, he was already staring. Thankfully, though, it was not James he locked eyes with, but Lupin, Remus Lupin. However, it was still dangerous considering Remus is Sirius’ boyfriend, yet again, he and Remus were quite fond of each other.

After being caught, Regulus turned his head back to his friends where Evan had already passed out, to no one’s surprise. “You should take him back,” Regulus stated, “Would you be fine alone? Mr. Loverman is just a few seats away from us,” Barty smirked as he got the reaction he wanted of Regulus. The Black’s eyes widened, but soon enough he just sighed.

“Yeah, I’ll be fine,” he hesitantly replied. Barty nodded and proceeded to gently wake up Evan while he whispered something in the blonde’s ear, to avoid startling him, Regulus assumed, or it could be something kinky, that too went through his mind, especially after Evan jolted his head up in what Regulus would think to be excitement.

“Bye,” Evan waved him a goodbye, surprisingly with no questions asked. “Bye, Little Black,” Barty said, giving him a wink at the end. Now, that wink could definitely be about or for countless things. One that this may have just confirmed his latter thought.

Once again, Regulus sighed. He took another drink to help clear his mind. The thing is, he had only stayed in hopes of being able to get Dorcas alone for a little chat, perhaps for catching up or maybe for gossip. Doesn’t really matter, to him at least.

Regulus was planning to leave. However, before he did, he had to make one last mistake. He had to look at the group of people a few seats away from him. Of course, only one caught his eyes really.

He could’ve suffered from a heart attack if he didn’t manage to find his composure fast enough. James was already looking at him. Those big brown eyes staring at him once more, probably the last time, too.

Hell, Regulus couldn’t look away as much as he wanted to. He wanted to keep on staring at those innocent, brown eyes that belonged to James Potter. He had no idea how James was feeling behind those orbs of his. Regulus wants to have the ability of knowing every single thing the older boy was feeling as it always gave him comfort before when they were still together. They were the most transparent with each other back then.

Oh, how Regulus misses those times.

Then again, he ruined it.

At that thought, he packed up his things—which was just his wallet and phone—then he left. He left the damn club for the sake of his sanity.

Once he made it to his Airbnb, he got rid of his clothes, took a bath, did the rest of his night routine, and just went to bed. For him, it was still too early. For him, it’s only been three hours since they arrived at the club considering that the other two left earlier than he did.

“What happened to you?” Evan said, sitting down on the side of Regulus’ bed with a flop. Regulus turned, his body now facing the ceiling. “James happened,” he replied. Evan’s face clearly shifted from looking haggard to absolute curiosity and slight anger. “Did he do something?” Evan asked with a slightly protective tone, “Other than existing? No.”

“Tell me more.”

And just like that, his plan of going to sleep was changed to feeding Evan with gossip, if you could even call it that.

"All I can say? Good luck. Hate to break it to you, but you will definitely see him again." Evan casually stated.

"Please, shut up."

As the two boys went to sleep after all the hours of just talking and talking, the next morning immediately rolled around.

When Regulus woke up, he was tired, so very tired, nonetheless, you could say he was quite happy. After 2 years, he was going to see his best friend, well, one of his best friends, Pandora.

It's been so long and he was going to be able to reunite with the girl that pulled him through.

He took a quick morning shower, and so did the other two boys. They put on casual clothes and excitedly left.

Once they've reached the cafe all four were supposed to meet up, Pandora was already there, awaiting their arrival.

As they walked in, Pandora smiled widely as she realized the group of three that walked in. She stood up, hugging all three boys, but tighter with his brother, Evan.

"How I've missed all of you!" she exclaimed once they'd all sat down. "So, willing to catch us up with you and your tiger lily," Evan teasingly smirked at his sister. "Oh, well, we're together now," she shyly smiled.

It was noticeable how Pandora softly and loves to talk about Lily. Sure, she was a pure, innocent, wonderful girl and talked about everyone like they're the sweetest—but when it's about Lily, it was like no one else mattered.

“That’s great,” Regulus smiled at the female blond. He was happy, truly, ever since the two girls met, it was obvious they were already head over heels for one another. “Yeah, good for you, Dora,” Barty exclaimed, a bit too loud, Regulus might say as it got some heads to turn. One of them, however, caught his attention as it is all too familiar for him.

Of course, it was none other than James Potter.

Thankfully though, he managed to collect himself and looked away immediately, not repeating his mistake from the previous night. However, this does bring bad news considering the fact Regulus is going to stay in Paris for several nights. If he and James had managed to cross paths within the span of less than 24 hours, he was going to see more of James, and James would see more of him.

This was going to be a long week.

Or maybe it would be the perfect time to reconcile and catch up.
