Lily and James swung each other wildly to the music, Lily looking as stunning as a red fox in a field of snow in her white gown, laughing as James beamed down at her.
Today, they were not thinking about the war. Today was just for them, a dazzling spark of joy in the increasingly bleak world around them.

The song continued and James guffawed with laughter watching Sirius pull a reluctant looking Remus onto the dance floor, already tripping over his feet after a couple drinks, but smiling quietly at the enthusiasm with which his partner was moving his hips to the music.
