Harry gets to his room at the leaky cauldron to think yes harry would be doing alot of that in the next 3 weeks.
yes harry had got so mad he turned aunt marge into a balloon. Yes harry hadn't regretted it in the slightest. Yes harry had run away. Yes harry had been expelled and reregistered. Yes harry was getting re-sorted when school started back.
And harry was worried very much that this time he might not sit down at the lions table.
Now harry didn't have any new reasons to worry about slytherin, but he still had his old reason
The worst part being that everyone was confident he'd end up wearing red and gold. He couldn't even tell people about the fact he might end up a snake because he hadn't told anyone about the hat almost putting him in slytherin and he didn't want to. It was an embarrassment to him.
it was midnight when he stopped thinking.
He woke up the next morning to go down for breakfast. Today he was to go to gringotts and get money and then he was gonna buy his booklist early. After that he might do his summer homework at a cafe.
of course things never go to plan for harry potter.

he was led to a room to do a inheritance test to make sure that he was actually who he said he was. He couldn't believe it. He had trusted him. He had trusted albus dumbledore. And yet here he was the heir of slytherin that he had put compulsions on. "Matter of fact there is" So harry sat back and watched them work seething on the inside how could dumbledore do this to him?
Once they were done harry felt like a new person completely. He felt like a slytherin.
He went to his vault and stuffed his coin purse his mind otherwise occupied. He went to a little run-down shop that had things to do wizardry pranks no one was there. Good. Harry bought a device that disguised you if you pressed a certain button and left.
On tbe outside of flourish and blotts harry clicked the button and went inside.
The disgiuse worked fine. It was a brown haired boy with long hair and he was tall he had pale skin and blue eyes. Harry bought a couple books on pureblood etiquette as he realised he knew nothing of it and some books on dark magic as the test said it was a skill he possessed.
Harry had scheduled an appointment to get his heirship rings on august the 20th. So there was that to look forward to. Once he got back to the leaky cauldron with his books charmed to look like blank journals he went to his room and sat down at his desk.
Was there anyone harry could write to about this? Yes. Ginny weasley. She would absolutely be an amazing support system despite her family. But that was the thing. Her family. If they found out harry had written her they would wanna know what he said.
Same with the twins. Harry would just have to wait until school started to tell them about it. He could tell no one except maybe the current slytherins but that thought disappeared as fast as it formed. No harry was only on good terms with one slytherin and that was zabini and they weren't even friends they just didnt hate eachother.
So he wouldn't be able to tell anyone.
Thats fine he supposed even if he could tell someone he wouldn't know were to start. He cracked open his first dark arts book and suddenly nothing else mattered. He spent a while reading how to remove the ministry trace. He did the ritual and now he could actually practice dark arts.
So he did that until it was night and he went to bed very irate because of dumbledore.
The next few days went by fairly quickly and he found he enjoyed being alone far more that he ever did with the compulsions.
Eventually it was time for him to claim his heirship rings. By this day he had done all his summer homework, he had perfected more than a few dark arts spells, had learned of most pureblood etiquette, was learning occulumency and had visited all of his vaults collecting one journal out of each.
It was the last thing he would have to do secretly and then ron and hermione would arrive. He did not want them to arrive, they thought they had a right to know everything he did. They did not, least of all his heirships or dark arts use.
He arrived at gringotts and sat down in the goblins office to collect his heirships and choose his heir title. The goblin walked in with 4 little ring boxes one a velvet green, one brown with the deathly hallows symbol on it, one a super dark black it would put a void to shame and a simple brown box.
Afterwards he put them all under disillusionment charms and asked fof the title heir peverall-potter. He walked out very happy he spent the rest of the day buying all his school things.
Four days later and he had disillusioned everything he didn't want the weasleys to see and his blissful peace came to an end. Though no one else knew how unhappy he was because he looked thrilled the act was exhausting but it worked.
Hermione practically threw herself at him and it took all of his will to not outwardly react negatively to it. Even with the compulsions he would want to throw her off because he hate's physical affection.
Once she got of him he and ron had a conversation "catching up" in reality harry made up some bullshit about what he'd been doing.
Once everything settled harry subtly asked the twins and ginny to come talk to him and they did. So he told them and by the end they all looked dumbfounded. They all agreed not to tell anybody and that was that.
Eventually it was august 31st and harry was dreading delivering the news to ron and hermione on the train. They board the train after ron and his mother shared a tearful goodbye that harry had just barely not laughed at.
"Hey guys i have to tell you something." "yes harry?" Hermione said "i have to get re-sorted because of the expulsion." "but you'll get put back in griffindor so its fine." ron said unhelpfully harry pretended to be ignorant and agreed with ron verbally, though he knew he was delaying the enevitable slytherin.
