Samhain became a curse for Dorea Potter Black. On the eleventh day of her older brother Marius Black's birth, his letter from Hogwarts didn't arrive. That meant only one thing.
Marius is a squib.
All childhood her brother had no magical emissions and he did not do any random magic and that strained their parents. Dorea never had any doubts about the fact that her brother was not a Squib. Could her older brother, Heir of the Most Ancient and Noble Black Family, be a Squib. Stupid girl.
The day before his birthday, Marius was very worried.
-And if I'm still a Squib?-Marius was nervous.-Where will my parents send me?
-Don't be stupid, brother. -Dorea took his hand. -You're not a Squib!
How wrong she was.
On Marius's birthday, the letter from Hogwarts, which should have come to all wizards, did not arrive, the father fell into a rage.
Seeing her mother and father sobbing in rage, she immediately understood the reason. Marius Black turned out to be a Squib after all.
She didn't want to believe it. Why Marius?Why not some other child from another family? Why Marius?!
Pollux grimaced when he heard about this and muttered something about disgusting squibs and Cassiopeia and their cousins were very upset.
At Hogwarts, she meets her love for the rest of her life. With Charlus Potter.
He was from an Ancient Pureblood Family who were also very wealthy. Charlus Potter was a good candidate for marriage. Charlus was smart, kind, calm and very strong.
Dorea wanted to be with Charlus. But she didn't know what he would do if their child was born a Squib.
After high school, Charlus became an artefact and she became a curse breaker.
Their parents approved of their marriage (probably due to the wealth of the Potters) and they got married.
When their child was born, Dorea named him Marius in honor of her brother who was born on the same day.
Their son was a concern. He didn't have magic surges or random magic. Just like Marius.
On their son's eleventh birthday, Dorea learns that her son is a Squib.
