I can’t believe you did that
“I’m so embarrassed.” Scorpius groaned, covering his face with his hands.
“It could have been worse.” Lyra consoled her older brother.
“Can we just leave?” Scorpius removed his hands, looking back at the crowd that had formed.
“How do you expect to get home?” Lyra asked as they made their way outside.
Scorpius relented and leaned against one of the walls of Diagon Alley.
After what felt like an eternity their father returned, retreating from Flourish & Blotts.
“Ready to go?” He asked, as if nothing had happened. “Quality Quidditch Supplies is right here–”
“Dad! I can’t believe you did that!” Scorpius frowned, “Kids from school were in there!”
Draco waved him off. “No one will remember it come school time.”
Lyra laughed. “Yeah right, no one will ever stop talking about it!”
“Can we go already?” Scorpius whined. “I’m never leaving the manor again.”
“Calm down, Scorp.” Draco chided. “Nothing happened.”
“Dad…” Scorpius made a face. “You and mum fell out of the back room. Together. Like on top of each other!”
“So? I was helping her grab something.” He shrugged.
“Everyone was buying their books!”
“That’s exactly why I had to help her!” Draco ran a hand through his hair. “Your mother takes her job very seriously and the shelves needed restocking.”
“You and mum have something called magic.” Scorpius responded.
“Give it up, Scorp.” Lyra playfully shoved her brother’s arm. “You should be happy that our parents have a love life.”
Scorpius feigned a retching sound. “Disgusting.”
“I’m sure your mother will speak to you both about it tonight.” Draco put his arms around his children. “I already got the burnt of her wrath.”
“So you admit it!” Scorpius said.
“I admit to nothing.” He ruffled Scorp’s hair, causing the boy to sulk further. “Now let’s finish your school supplies lists.”
