You're in Danger

"We're here."

You couldn't talk, still stunned by what had happened. The man, Cornelius Fudge, lets you out of the car and sighs when seeing the distress on your face.

"Everything's going to be fine, Miss Potter, I promise. Do you want me to walk with you to the door?"

You shake your head. How could he promise that? You shouldn't make promises you can't keep. You walk up to the door before quickly turning to face the piggy man, "Mr Fudge?"

He turns around, "Yes?"

"What's going to happen... To her body?"

He awkwardly smiles, "We're letting her parents handle the body."

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault. It was a freak accident."

"No. No, it wasn't," You whispered, before knocking on the door. You knew something bad had happened to the girl before she killed herself. Though, you didn't know why the Ministry was trying to cover it. She was possessed, you could tell by her white-covered eyes, but by who?

You didn't know that these creatures used cars, but you should have known. The house was huge and when you pulled in, there were dozens of people outside, some with drink, others with food, but they were all chatting with someone.

You gaped when inside, looking at all the banners, balloons, and confetti. There were tables full of food and when people noticed and recognized you, they were quick to talk to you.

"You're Y/n Potter right? My name is Sue Li," She puts her hand out for you to shake.

"Yeah.. But everyone knows who I am."

"Yeah. I can't believe we're talking. You always seemed so out of my league."

You were pulled away by a guy, you briefly recognized him, because he played in Quidditch. Not to mention he had one large eye in the middle of the face making him a Cyclops if you remember correctly.

"Well, if isn't Y/n Potter, the Seeker."

You awkwardly smile as he hugs you tighter, squeezing you.

"What are you doing here, anyway?" He kept getting tighter and tighter and you started to struggle against him. "I thought this was a party for Ravenclaws. Last I checked, you're not a Ravenclaw."

"Knock it off, Davies." The guy who had given you the envelope scowled the Davies guy. Davies let you go, but slightly pushes you forward. "You good Potter?"

"Yeah, thanks. I don't know what his problem is."

"It's because you're a rival Quidditch player, don't take it personally."

"I'm Y/n-" You stop yourself, "But you already know that don't you?"

He smiles, before nodding, "Yeah. I never told you my name, did I? I'm Hillard, Robert Hillard."

"You're the prefect for Ravenclaw, right?"

He nods, smirking, "Yeah. I'm glad you were able to make it though. With your family and all."

"Yeah... More of a sneaking out."

He laughs, patting your back. "Hope you have a fun time, Potter."

Music starts to play and you felt the room get hotter as more people crowded in. You saw some stairs and decided to go upstairs and get away from the crowds. Though, you weren't the only one who had this idea, because when you got up there, there was a girl who was looking out of a window. She was standing awkwardly and her hair was straight, flat even, unnaturally so, like her hair wasn't usually like that. You took a step forward, creaking the floor board and her head twitched.

"Hello?" You call out to her as you slowly walked closer. "Are you okay?"

She turned towards you and you wished she hadn't. Her face had dark red boils bleeding black blood. There was a kind of fungus, the same as the Mountain Trolls fungus,  growing out of the boils and her skin, the skin you could see anyway was covered in scratch marks and her eyes were white. You shook your head, you knew exactly what her eyes meant. She was possessed. When she finally spoke, it was a hard, echo whisper. Like someone was speaking from inside her, but that didn't make sense to say.

"He's coming."

"Haha, real funny. You can quit the act."

"He's coming. He's coming."

"Okay, stop this isn't funny."

Her head started bobbing up and down before she started seizing up. Her arms went up and down and you just froze. Then, when you finally were about to call someone, she stopped. She froze before looking It was silent... Quiet. What happened to the music?

"He's coming for you."

You start to realize maybe this wasn't a joke. "Who?"

"He's coming for you. He's coming, Potter."

"Who? Voldemort?"

She started laughing, before rolling her head back, "You're in danger, stupid, stupid girl." Then she started to laugh and you took a step back, tripping over one of the floorboards and you fall. "He's coming. He's coming. He's coming. You're going to die. Die. Die. Die. You'll never be safe." She then starts running towards you and you quickly cover yourself, but she goes around you, before climbing on the railings.

You quickly stand up and look towards her. Suddenly all the noises came back. People were yelling and screaming.

"Marietta, what are you doing?"

She starts laughing and her head starts spinning like an owl. Everyone was freaking out and yelling, as she falls forward and time seemed to slow. You seemed to move slowly trying to get up and put your hand out, trying to reach her, grab her, get a hold of something, anything really to keep her. But you barely missed, feeling the edge of her jacket at your fingertips. Then, there was a crushing slam and time seemed to go back to normal. You could see her as she splatted on the floor, head busted, and blood splattered everywhere.

You held your hand over your mouth, eyes widened. This girl was dead and her brain was splattered now all over the floor. You looked around the room and there were people surrounding her body. A girl with long black hair and a round face was holding her close, crying, screaming as Hillard tried calming everyone down. He spotted you, before pointing to you and motioning you to come here.

"I don't know-"

"What do you mean?"

"She was saying weird cryptic things."

"What kind of things."

You went silent, not moving, just staring at the ground, your eyes scrunching together.

Hillard groans, before rubbing his face. He then sighs, before looking at the crowd, "Party's over! Everyone out."

"Are you okay?"

You looked over at your brother, smiling. "Yeah."

He didn't believe you, but he couldn't question you, because Hedwig started chirping and hooting. Harry quickly goes over to her cage to comfort her.  "I can't let you out, Hedwig. I'm not allowed to use magic outside of school." She nibbles at her lock, squawking loudly, "Besides, if Uncle Vernon--"

"Harry! Y/n!"

'Speak of the devil and he shall arrive,' you thought, rolling your eyes.

"Now you've done it," Harry says to Hedwig as you both go downstairs.

You enter the kitchen, your brother close behind, and see Petunia working on a cake.

"They're in there." She points to the living room and you both go in there.

"I'm warning you two. If you can't control that bloody bird, it'll have to go."

"But she's bored. If I could only let her out for... an hour or two."

Vernon chuckles, "So one of you can send secret messages to your freaky little friends? No."

"We haven't gotten messages from anyone. At all."

He rolls his eyes but doesn't look back at you.

"Who would want to be friends with you?" Dudley snarkily remarks, before pushing past you and your brother.

" I should think you'd be a little more grateful. We've raised you both since you were babies, given you the food off our table, even let you have Dudley's second bedroom, purely out of the goodness of our hearts."

"You're so full of it-"

"Watch it," he sternly states, points at you while looking back to make eye contact.

"Not now, bumpkins. It's for when the Masons arrive." You could hear Petunia remark.

"Who should be any minute." He motions for Petunia and Dudley, "Now, let's go over our schedule once again, shall we? Petunia, when the Masons arrive, you will be...?"

She straightens up, "In the lounge, waiting to welcome them graciously to our home."

"Good. And, Dudley, you will be...?"

"Waiting to open the door."

"Excellent," They all look at you and your brother, "And you two?"

"Too right. With any luck, this could well be the day I make the biggest deal of my career, and you will not mess it up."
