‘Flight 87, Gate 15 Yokohama – London, departing in 1 hour. Flight 54, Gate 10, Yokohama – Berlin, departing in...’
So much noise. So many people. Dazai’s never been at an airport before. And his first time at one is with some French magical people he doesn’t even know! This all sucks!
“Wont this be fun? What do you say Chuuya? Maybe this little mission will help you to appreciate your abilities and talents!” Verlaine said, his lips curled up in an amused smile as he sits comfortable in his chair. With a Papillion dog in his lap, petting it, but only receiving a hard bite.
This was all so weird to Dazai. Magic made no sense to him. It seemed too silly and made up. Like, what do you mean I can actually appear out of nowhere and shoot glitter out of a magic stick? And the animagus thing that Verlaine had tried to explain to him was strange too. Though, it was something could tease the ginger about, so it was at least something useful.
And he was going to live with Verlaine and his husband in their house in London for this entire year, so he was going to be away from Mori. Verlaine seemed like a cool guy too, Dazai had never seen him beat Chuuya or anything. So maybe he would actually enjoy this a bit. But everything sucked at the moment, Verlaine was scolding Chuuya for biting him, not by hitting him, but by just telling him off. Which was new to Dazai. And then there was a baby crying somewhere, and a group of people speaking really loudly, and people rushing and running around. It was chaos. Dazai had expected that an airport would be a little crowded and with rushing people, but this was way worse than he had thought.
“Dazai this is your first time going overseas, right?” Verlaine asks, Chuuya no longer on his lap, but on the floor under his chair, sulking.
“Yes. Sir...” Dazai adds that last part with an unsure tone, what should he even call Verlaine, he’s so much different from Mori. He’s not like a person you’d call sir. If he isn’t someone to call sir, what should you call him?
“Hahah, no need for such formalities. For this mission I’m your father, should get in the role as soon as possible so you don’t mess up later, alright?”
Father? A father? Is that what Verlaine is? A father. That’s what he is, a father.
“Understood, father.”
