1 (Harry) [He/him]

“Harry!”

Letting out a shout; I stumbled forward, grabbing for one of my small throwing arrows. Turning I tossed it; watching as Alyssa stepped out of the way, blocking it with the blade of one of her many swords. A very short, almost long dagger sword that I couldn’t even pretend to know the name of.

Alyssa was a short; but well built, enby, their skin a deep rosy brown. Her hair was a warm deep golden brown, reaching her shoulders, though it was kept up in a ponytail, bangs framing their face. Their eyes were angular, and a beer bottle brown with some amber notes.  There was a thin scar through their lips under their nose closer to the left side. A similar scar ran across their neck, from under the right of their chin to the left side of their collar bone. A large burn sat on their left shoulder, a lightning bolt like scar on the right.

She was in a black puffer vest, black pants, and dark purple slip-on shoes.

“Gee Quinn, be careful with that.” Alyssa playfully scolded, chuckling softly as I cooly glared at them. “Oh, come on Quinn, you’re still so easy. Really who else could be calling your name from in front of your mirror?”

“I better still be able to use that mirror. Dad may be rich but he’s getting tired of having to replace them every time you decide to sneak into my room without my permission.” I shook my head. “You’re replacing it this time if I can’t.”

“It’s fine.” She said glancing back quickly before nodding. “It’s fine!”

“What are you doing here?”

“Dad knows I’m reckless about big scary tank like beings.”

“And?” I arched an eyebrow, following them into the hall.

“Solomon Grundy broke out, so he wanted me to come here.”  They admitted, hopping onto the railing of the stairs, sliding down and nearly crashing into the man at the bottom.

He was tall, well built with dark almond skin, and very short, even darker brown hair.

His eyes were round, and brown as well and he was dressed rather simply, in a black leather jacket and blue jeans.

“Oh! I’m sorry!”

“It’s alright Ms?”

“Wayne. Alyssa Wayne; though it’s Mx really. But it’s alright,  you are?” She smiled, holding out a hand.

“John Diggle, your Harry’s friend, right?” John chuckled, shaking his head. “I’m surprised we haven’t run into each other before.”

“I… Broke in. Someone left a window open, and I took the mirror to Harry’s room.”  John faltered, turning as Dad let out an exaggerated groan. “I didn’t make it a permanent pathway this time.”

“You’ve done this before?” John faltered.

“Yes?” They tilted their head. “I… You do know who your boyfriend is right?”

John quickly pinched the bridge of his nose taking a few deep breaths, Dad choking a bit in the doorway, warm laughter coming from the kitchen.

“We aren’t dating, we work together.” He sighed shaking his head.  “Harry hasn’t told you about me?”

“Like you said it is a bit odd that we have never met.”

“What made you think he was my boyfriend?” Dad asked, crossing his arms as he headed into the room.

He was tall; only a bit shorter than John, with rosy peach skin. His eyes were an icy blue with a darker ring outlining them. He had short, warm brown hair, and a very short mustache and beard. He was in an open, cool gray button-up shirt, over a black t shirt, and olive-green pants.

I looked quite a bit like my father; but my Mother’s genetics still shined true. Sure I had taken my height, and face structure from him; as well as my rosy peach skin, my deep emerald eyes and bright coppery ginger hair had both come from my mother.

The scars I had were another question, being able to be split into two categorizes. Child abuse, and what happened on Lian Yu.  The ‘normal’ scars were the easiest. The ones most people though of with the word Scar, the lines. While they dotted my body to varying degrees, the ones that lined the entirety of my back were from when Vernon whipped me with a belt. He always made sure the buckle hit to make his point. The most prominent of them ran from under my right eye, across the bridge of my nose, to the middle of my left cheek.

The burns were a split between the two but were easier to distinguish. The larger burns that had been mostly allowed to heal and were mostly faded, were from Lian Yu. Wilson had put something on them to help, but the bright pock marks on my arms were from Vernon.

I was currently in a olive-green hoodie, with a single deep front pocket, and dark navy jeans.

“Because you’re an absolute disaster bi, and he’s extremely conventionally attractive.”  She nodded. “I didn’t doubt that you had finally accepted that you would probably do better with some form of Polyamory.”

The laughter from the kitchen picked up and Dad quickly launched a decorative throw pillow towards the source, more than likely his sister or ; perhaps, his boyfriend.

“What brings you here?”

“Dad didn’t want me to be killed going after Grundy.” They said, rocking on the balls of her feet. “Which, is fair to be honest.”

“Probably.” He gave a nod. “Have you eaten yet?”

“You… You’ve met Al, right?” She chuckled. “Of course, I’ve eaten.”

“I just went through the other world, yeah I could use some pancakes.”

“I keep telling you -you don’t have to sneak around when you come to visit. You have a key!”

“I… Like the window.”

“Then why not go through Harry’s window?” Thea teased gently.

While she looked quite a bit like her brother, though there were the slight differences. Her skin was a bit warmer; a more pale golden color, and her face was a bit more heart shaped than Dad’s. Her hair was a warm brow; still a bit lighter than her brother’s, chin length with a fair amount of wave to it. She had beautiful hazel-gray eyes, with small speckles of brown in them.

At the moment she  was in a white tank top, and a black skirt.

“I pushed them out of it the one time they tried, and they haven’t done it since.”

“No, that’s not quite true.  I tried one other time, but you got spooked, through one of those dart arrows at me, and I fell out of the window.” She chuckled, sitting next to the smiling woman. “Broke the same wrist. Then I never tried to climb in his window again.”

“No, that’s not quite true.  I tried one other time, but you got spooked, through one of those dart arrows at me, and I fell out of the window.” She chuckled, sitting next to the smiling woman. “Broke the same wrist. Then I never tried to climb in his window again.”

“We’ve been friends since we were five.” Alyssa shrugged. “And I’ve been doing this bull shit since he moved in with you.”

“Fair enough, but really why put yourself through the other world?”

“Because Oliver gives me pancakes.”

“I… Definitely enable it, but I also know how dangerous that place is.” He shook his head. “Besides I know you would go through the Other World even if I didn’t. You enjoy the danger.”

“Somewhat, and startling Harry.”

“Please stop sneaking around all the time, or I’ll deal with you myself.” Oliver gave a nod. “I’ll take you down a few notches and I know your father would understand.”

“He would let you beat her?” I recoiled a bit. “Why would you do that?”

“In this case to make sure that I don’t needlessly go through the other world, and fuck over my own mental health even more.” She soothed gently. “To get me out of the habit of doing this.”

“But he would hurt you for it.”

“Yes, because at that point I need to get my ass handed to me.” She chuckled, eating a bit of pancake. “Not all situations like this are going to be abuse. I’m in the habit of breaking in, he can stop me.”

“Okay.”

“I’m sorry if that upset you Harry, but really you should have dealt with her at this point if you wanted her to stop.”

“She always stays close to the mirror and gets angry when there is a chance that I might break it.”

“Then actually fight her,” Oliver shook his head. “Force her away from the mirror and control the situation. I did teach you how to do that, and you need to start standing your ground with them.”

“He’s right, it stopped me once why wouldn’t it work again.” Alyssa shook her head. “I can’t say I will stop; I’m testing you. I’m toying with you; I want you to play.”

“One day Harry, one day.”

“Yeah, one day.” I nodded, accepting some pancakes myself, smiling as I joined my friend.

“I’m questioning but I’m not very romantic, I might be demi, but I am Pansexual.”

“I’m gay as shit.” I admitted, pausing as there was a knock at the door. “Is anyone expecting anyone?”

“No. I mean dad sent me here, but I don’t see why I would be getting guests here.”

“Roy. But that’s not for another three hours. He’s helping me learn how to become like you a lot, in our own way. We’re working on a group of our own, and he wanted to run through some drills and look at candidates.”

“We can talk about that later; I would like to at least be a bit of a part in that choice.” Oliver gave a nod, heading towards the door as another knock came. “But let’s see who it is.”

“They’re magic, I can sense it from here.” Alyssa said, closing their eyes. “Like Harry’s main magic, though I know I could probably tap into that as well.”

“Can you tell anything else?” John asked, eyes narrowing as a jolt ran up the girl’s spine. “Alyssa?”

“His wand, it’s calling out to me. It’s… Addictive, tempting. Not evil; far from innately evil, but powerful. Death. There is an echo of death all over it. People have died over it. People have killed over it.” She shook her head. “It’s not that I think it’s bad, but a lot of bad people have left strong echoes on it. It’s held onto that darkness, like it’s trying to tell me it’s story.”

“Fascinating power you have, that’s rather impressive.” Turning the group quickly took in the man in front of them, me and Thea both snapping open our bows, Alyssa drawing two short swords, and Diggle pulled out his gun.

“Albus, hi.” Alyssa snarked slightly. “What brings you to Star City?”

“I wasn’t expecting to see you either Alyssa.”

“Grundy, Dad didn’t want me to die.” They nodded as Oliver pulled out his bow as well. “Your turn.”

“I’m merely here to invite Mr. Potter to attend my School.”

“You currently have three bows, a gun and two swords aimed at you. Why did you think that it was a good idea to come yourself, and not send one of your people?” She tilted their head.

“Stand down!” Oliver ordered, the group semi reluctantly doing as they were told. “Now, Albus. We have actually talked about sending Harry to your school, and the League, as well as our family, Harry; and even Alyssa, have all agreed on the condition.”

“What would that be Mr. Queen?”

“Alyssa goes with him.”

“Not everyone can attend wizarding schools.” He gave a small nod.

“We both know that I have immense magic and that my powers would adapt well to any form of magic. You use specific spells and a wand to channel, and you could learn other types of magic.” She crossed their arms. “I go or Harry doesn’t.”

“That can be arranged if need be. I would like to see your powers and abilities more for myself as well.”

“Understood.” He gave a nod. “I’ll be on my way.”

As the man headed out, Oliver and John followed him. As they did Alyssa quickly finished her food, quickly raiding the fridge for fruit.

“Really?” Oliver smirked slightly.

“I like the fruit you get.” She admitted. “And I don’t know what they are all called.”

“I’ll send a list to your father. But really some of those are expensive.”

“Sorry.” As Alyssa deflated slightly, Dad let out a small sigh.

“It’s alright, I would mostly prefer if you asked. Now, why don’t the two of you go and hang out for the day?” Dad suggested, chuckling as Alyssa quickly cleaned up before heading towards the front. “If you jump the window, I will shoot you in the shoulder.”

“Fine!”

Chuckling softly I followed my friend out of the house. I knew where they would be taking me; Alyssa always enjoyed a long trip to the old city library, and I loved seeing them happy. I wasn’t as into it as them, but I knew that we would be able to visit the snake sanctuary on the way.
