Chapter 11

“Allysa?”

Groaning Alyssa went to snip at Harry, only to find Hermione sitting on the edge of their bed next to them.

“Oh.” She deadpanned, too exhausted to really be polite. “Here to continue-“

Hermione quickly cut her off with a deep kiss. Alyssa gasped, eyes fluttering shut as Hermione cupped her cheek, tilting her head as Hermione pulled back.

“What was that?”

“An apology.” Hermione whispered, tucking a strand of hair behind Alyssa’s ear. “I know it’s early, and I know you… Honey, we need to talk and I need you honest.”

“Hermione.”

“Relax, I’m going to be honest in turn. It’s only fair.” Hermione whispered giving a nod. “But really, I’m sorry for starting a scene with Peeves. I just let the situation get out of control, and I wasn’t really thinking when I was talking.”

“Why are you jealous of Myrtle?” Alyssa asked, sitting slightly. “You came into my room really late your going first.”

“Ghosts are cold. And well… Me and Draco can’t help you at night. If you-“

Alyssa faltered then started laughing. As Hermione bristled slightly Alyssa wiped their eyes.

“Oh, sweetheart. I’m helping Myrtle grow emotionally with a bit of my magic, but-“ Alyssa wiped an eye through gentle; loving, chuckles. “Mione. Ghost’s cant age.”

As Hermione’s cheeks burned Alyssa broke into more hearty giggles,  collapsing sideway’s against Hermione’s shoulder as the shifted properly next to them. As they relaxed Alyssa let out a small sigh.

“Heh. My turn right?” Alyssa let out a soft sigh. “The reason I got so touchy is… Your right. I know that I shouldn’t just repress my memories. But it’s really coming to bight me now. I’m being called.”

“Called?”

“To Silent Hill. I can’t completely ignore it, even if I’m at school, but I don’t feel comfortable going during break. I just don’t know how much time it will take.” Alyssa sighed, only remaining somewhat calm as Hermione pet their hair. “But I’m afraid I won’t have that much of a choice. I was hoping to be able to go with Snape so that we could get it over with, but he’s not being called as much as I am. Hardly at all at this point.”

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay but, a little annoying you know?”

“I can imagine, you had a plan in place and now it might be ruined.” Hermione soothed, continuing her petting. “I wish I could really help, but you shouldn’t hide when things are getting hard from people. We can help, at least somewhat.”

“I know that. I just don’t… I know Harry told you some things. I just don’t like feeling like a burden.”

“That makes sense, but you really aren’t. Your imperfect, and you’re mentally ill, but that dose not make you a burden,” Hermione shifted to cup Alyssa’s cheeks. “But when you act like this, when you try to take on the world. That’s when you burden yourself, and you make it harder for us to help.”

“I know I-“

“I know, you don’t mean to. Harry said you don’t even really realize when your doing it.” Hermione shook her head and Alyssa let out a small sigh. “Look it’s going to take time and effort. And maybe if you can figure some things out here then you can push actually going for a bit longer.”

“Hopefully.” Alyssa yawned. “Now, I think that’s all for now alright? Look, I’m sorry if I’m being secretive, I just… I genuinely don’t know a lot of my own issues. I have a hard time with the professor because of it, so I don’t mean any disrespect alright?”

“I know Al. I know. I’ll let you get back to sleep but we do have a lot to talk about tomorrow alright?”

“Of course.” Alyssa smiled. “I do wish we could snuggle more properly but I know we can’t for a reason.”

“We’ll figure that out eventually as well.” Hermione kissed Alyssa’s forehead one last time before heading out. Alyssa watched, smiling to themselves before snuggling back under the sheets and falling asleep.

“So you heard the voice again last night.” Alyssa gave a small nod as they headed for the great hall, walking backwards but using their shadow to guide the way a bit.

“And you-“ He nodded to Hermione. “-Were able to hear it with detect thought and comprehend languages. Interesting. What spell did you cast first if you don’t mind me asking?”

“Detect thoughts, I think. But I cast them so close to each other that it was really indistinguishable.” She let out a heavy sigh and Alyssa nodded.

“Was anyone in the dorms, anyone catch anything on what happened?”

“Better, people who came from the feast who had to pass that way-“ Before Alyssa could finish his thought Filch stormed up to them.

“You!” He hissed, causing Alyssa to jump, scrambling back a bit as he landed. “You did this! Your the one who attacked Mrs. Norris!”

“Why would I attack Mrs. Norris? And how?” Alyssa tilted their head. “I don’t even know what’s going on, all I know is that something weird is going on again.

“Hmph! Likely story. Probably out prowling the halls and thorough that it would be fun to make my life miserable!”

“Why the hell would I do that? I’m not stupid, besides. Like I said I have no idea what’s going-“ Alyssa fell silent at their eyes reached the large; unquestionably bloody, letters.

The Chamber of Secretes has been opened.

Enemies of the Heir, beware.

“Oh… That’s not good. That’s really not good, though my question remains, why the-“

“I believe it would be for the best if you stopped talking Mx. Wayne.” Snape drawled, heading up behind Mr. Filch. “Besides Albus already determined it could not be the work of a student.”

“But they are no student, their a daemon.”

“I would like some context please.” Alyssa said, though it was clear that even he was somewhat frightened. “But I would like it known that I have no issues with cats. I actually find the bond-“ Hermione clapped a hand over Alyssa’s mouth as Filch glared daggers at him.

“We can discuss this topic later. You five need to eat and get ready for your classes. Off you go then.”

Nodding Alyssa rushed past the two, making his way to a free area with their friends. “Alright, that’s definitely something, I just don’t know what yet.”

“Here’s not the best place to talk,  but your right.” Hermione nodded. We can talk after class.”

“Right. Of course. Hopefully we can figure out what all this means before things start getting worse.”
