“Paaads!” Remus called, shutting the door to their apartment. “Look who I’ve brought home!”
Sirius poked his head into the corridor excitedly, however his face fell when he say what Remus was carrying.
“His name’s Melvin! Isn’t he the cutest?” Remus grinned, kissing the little golden retriever puppy on the head. Sirius pouted. “What’s up, love? I thought you’d love him.”
“And I thought you loved me,” he turned around in a pout. Remus look bewildered. “Clearly, you don’t.”
The werewolf set the puppy down on the floor and crosses over to Sirius. “What makes you think I don’t love you?”
“I thought I was the only dog in your life,” Sirius glared. Remus, much to Sirius’ dismay, burst out laughing.
“So that’s why you don’t like Melv?” He managed to get out through the onslaught of laughter.
“It’s not funny, Remus,” Sirius whined. “How could you replace me?”
“Oh darl,” Remus sighed, hugging Sirius. “I could never replace you. You know that. But seriously, look at his paws.” He pointed, and Sirius had to admit, the paws were very cute.
“Fine. As long as I’m the only Animagus dog for you,” he stated.
“Of course.”
