Narcissa's pov
I was stressed. I graduated from school two years ago and it’s been the most difficult years of my life. The only reason for that is I haven’t seen or talked or even contacted Alice once in those two years. I have been miserable ever since. Alice Fortescue a real mystery to human nature. At first, I wasn’t even sure if I liked her but now I know. I Am completely in love with Alice. She kept me alive during school. She was a brilliant pure-blood witch. She helped me a lot after Andromeda ran away.
Andromeda left four years ago and I know Bellatrix told me not to worry about it but when she says that I worry about it even more. It’s been four years that I’ve been waiting for the miracle Bellatrix is looking for. Four years of having to listen to my sister get tortured for answers about Andie. Four years of hiding in my room for days to not get yelled at for refusing to get the dark mark. Four years of having to reject Lucius Malfoy honestly it’s quite pathetic. Four years of constant crying and rage. But most importantly four years of missing my sister.
I started wondering what Andromeda was doing right now. Probably enjoying her time with Ted Tonks as she should. When I heard a knock on my door, It was my mother. She opened the door and I was on my feet as quickly as a bunny’s ears when he heard a sound. She was dressed in her usual navy blue almost black dress. She had this stern look on her face that wasn’t at all reassuring.
“The Malfoy family is here, put on a dress and come down as soon as you’re ready and don’t take more than thirty minutes.” She looked at me with a look of disgust probably because she thinks I’m just like Andromeda and she’s not completely wrong.
With that I put on my dress, A long off the shoulders dress. Obviously black,we wouldn’t want to see a member of the black family wearing any other colour. The skirt had a split. I put on my gloves that went up to my elbows.
I walked down the stairs to meet my mothers half pleased eyes. She motioned to me to go to the dinning room where everyone was probably waiting for me. I nodded and went over to sit between Bellatrix that had an empathetic look on her face and Lucius that just looked like he just saw a divine creature. When I sat down my mother did a little speech about being grateful of having the Malfoy’s over, which I didn’t believe a word of because she looked disgusted by the look that Lucius gave me. After my mother’s speech we started eating. When I finished my plate I felt Lucius breath on my ear which sent a shiver down my spine out of fear.
“We should probably talk about the marriage arrangements outside, yeah?”, he whispered. I froze. Marriage arrangements? What marriage arrangement? The worst part is that my mother looked at me and nodded. She knew? I mean I shouldn’t be surprised but for some reason I am. I then looked at Bellatrix. She didn’t even look at me, she probably didn’t want to look me straight in the eye. That just told me that she knew. She knew and she didn’t tell me. Okay then, I thought, better play with it.
I excused myself from the table then looked at Lucius. He just stared at me. I don’t know if I like that. He followed me out in the garden. I waited for him to say something. Did this man lose his tongue? What is happening? Why doesn’t he speak? I guess I’ll just need to initiate the conversation then.
“So, what are the arrangements?” At that he looked at me, excited? No, he looked more nervous than anything. It's actually really funny, considering the circumstances.
“Yes, the arrangements! Well actually I don’t really know them. The only thing I know is that we are to be married in three weeks. That’s actually why we came over so we could talk together and try to get to know each other better. Honestly I cant wait till we get married.”, he said too confidently for my own sake. Ah, yes that’s the Lucius MalfoyI know, I thought, completely obsessed with me. Honestly, could he be at least a little more subtle? Am I really asking that much?
Just at the moment he was going to speak his mother came and told him they had to go home. I will never be able to thank that woman enough.
I went to my room and started undressing When I heard my door open slightly. I turned around so fast I thought I was going to fall.
“Pack your stuff we’re going somewhere”, she said without even looking at me, but for me this was the best gift ever. I knew what she meant. We were going to see Andromeda. I was going to see Andromeda. FINALLY.
