“Sirius, you're not coming with me.” Remus said, for about the thousandth of time. The moon would start to rise in a few hours, and he really needed to make his way out of their flat before it did. But Sirius was fighting about coming with him, like he usually did when it was a full moon, but it really wouldn't be good for him now. “You're sick, so you're definitely not coming with me.”
“But I don't want you to be alone.” He said, rubbing his nose to the sleeve of his hoodie, trying to get rid of an itch, before looking back up at Remus.
“I'll ask James to come with me, alright? But you're not coming, I don't want you to get worse.” Sirius rolled his eyes, but coughed harshly into his elbow. Remus sent him a knowing look, and he just looked down in defeat.
“James is back at home, but just be safe, Remus, please?” He said after a moment, glancing up at him.
“I'll try my best, love.” He said, disappearing into the kitchen, and coming back a little later with a steaming mug of tea with him, giving it to Sirius.
“Thank you.” He whispered, taking a sip of the tea, the warmth soothing his sore throat nicely.
“So, eat something before bed and take some more medicine in a few hours, okay?” Sirius nodded, taking another sip of his tea. “Take your temperature, too.”
“Stop fussing over me, I should be doing that to you.” Sirius said, but Remus shook his head. “You'll be back in the morning, right?”
“Yeah.” Sirius nodded. “I have to go now, love you.” He said, leaning to kiss Sirius' forehead.
“Love you too.” He whispered back, looking up at Remus, who smiled before walking away and out of their flat. Sirius looked out of the window, looking as Remus made his way down the street.
He felt guilty for not being able to be there with Remus for his transformation, but he did understand why Remus didn't want that. Firstly, he was sick, had been for the past few days, and Remus had told him it was going to be a bad full moon. Usually when he could sense it being a bad one, he didn't want Sirius to be there in the first place, but he always insisted on coming with. This time it didn't work, though, and he was left alone.

Sirius woke up to a loud thud coming from their door, he sat up in bed, trying to listen to what it was. When he heard more noises coming down the hall, he got up from bed, pulling a jumper over his head as he walked. After opening their bedroom door, he saw Remus sitting down on the floor, against their front door with his head in his knees, clearly crying.
“Remus?” He asked, walking closer, and kneeling down in front of him. “Hey Re, what's wrong?” He asked, putting a hand on his shoulder. Remus slowly looked up from his knees, and Sirius' heart broke at the sight. The right side of his face was covered in blood, it seemed to be coming from a big cut on his cheek, but Sirius couldn't be sure. His eye was bruised and there were tear tracks coming down, his eyes red rimmed, looking like he had been crying for hours.
“Oh, Remus baby.” He whispered, brushing his hair back. He was sobbing, and the tears were still falling down, as he looked at Sirius. “What's wrong, love? Answer me, please.” He was starting to panic as Remus just continued to stare at him.
“I just-” he trailed off, looking down. “Hurts. Really hurts, Siri.”
“What hurts?” He asked, biting his lip.
“E-everything.”
“Mm, okay, just calm down, okay? It's gonna be alright, I'll-” He stopped to stifle a cough into his arm. “I'll take good care of you, yeah?” Sirius gently wiped away the tears, trying to be really careful, knowing the bruise and the cut had to be really tender. “You're home now, Remus. You're home with me, and it's all over, yeah? No more for today.”
Remus nodded frantically, his breath catching up in his throat as he looked up at Sirius, the tears still falling down. “Shh, I know it hurts baby, I know. And I know you're scared, but I promise it's going to be alright, and you'll be okay.”
Remus looked so young there, and it reminded Sirius of their days at Hogwarts. It reminded him of the many full moons when Remus would be back to himself, and he'd just be so hurt and so scared, even when he was safe with his friends. But he looked just like he had all those years ago. Remus didn't cry very often but when he did it always looked and sounded so heartbreaking.
He slowly calmed down, even though he was still crying, and his breathing was elevated, but it wasn't as bad anymore. “Good job, Re.” He whispered when he was more calmed down. “I wanna take a little look at you, okay? So, can we get up?”
Remus nodded slightly, looking up at Sirius when he stood up. He offered both of his hands to Remus, helping him up from the floor, he was a little unsteady as they walked the short distance to the bathroom. Sirius sat him down onto the closed toilet lid, turning the lights on, so he could better look at his boyfriend.
“You really had it rough, didn't you?” He mumbled, more to himself, before turning away slightly to cough. Remus' jumper was stained with blood, there was an especially dark patch on his chest. “Can I take your jumper off?” Remus nodded just slightly, looking up at Sirius as he pulled the jumper off of him.
There was a big, deep looking wound on his chest, with a few smaller ones next to it, there was also a wound on his right side. Sirius gently ran his finger above the wound, and under it, Remus let out a cry at the pain, even though Sirius barely touched it. “Is your rib broken?” He asked, looking at Remus, who didn't answer, but just looked down.
“I think it is, love. I'm gonna go grab my wand, alright? Then I'll clean up the wounds, and we can go to bed, and you can get some sleep.” Remus nodded, wiping his eyes as Sirius left the room, he reached for the mirror that he knew was laying on the sink. He winced slightly as he saw himself in the mirror, quickly putting it back, watching as Sirius came back with his wand and a glass of water.
He quickly washed his hands, trying to keep his germs to himself, not wanting to get Remus sick on top of all this, even though it was likely inevitable. Then grabbed a towel, wetting it with warm water, and then got the red package Remus recognized as the med kit. It was a muggle one, and he didn't really know why Sirius insisted on using that rather than just his wand, even when he could do it much quicker with magic. But to be honest, he liked it more than just doing everything with magic.
Sirius kneeled down in front of him. “This might hurt a bit, I'm sorry, baby. But I really gotta clean them.” He warned, feeling bad for having to do it. He waited for Remus to nod before gently starting to press the towel against the wounds, cleaning away the blood from each. It took a bit more time this way, but it was much nicer and more intimate than just doing the job with magic, that was at least what Sirius' thought, and he knew Remus liked it more that way anyway.
Remus cried out every time Sirius moved the towel, or pressed it a little too hard, and Sirius apologized each time. “Okay, all done with that now.” He smiled, once he had cleaned the cut on his cheek, Sirius wiped away the tears again before continuing.
“You have to fix it?” Remus asked quietly, glancing at his side that was aching so badly before back at Sirius.
He nodded. “Mm, yeah. I'm sorry, it's gonna hurt a bit, but I gotta it'll heal so much faster.” Remus just nodded, biting his lip as Sirius grabbed his wand. Sirius took hold of Remus' hand before doing the spell.
He felt Remus squeeze his hand, but he didn't mind, just held Remus' hand with both of his, once he dropped his wand. A few more tears fell down as the spell did its work, healing the broken bones under the wound, but Sirius just gently wiped them away, trying to be as gentle as possible.
“Does it feel any better?” Sirius asked after a while, Remus nodded, looking back at him. “That's really good. I'm gonna put some of this cream on them. I got it from Lils, it's supposed to make them close up faster, then I'll put some bandages on, okay?”
Remus nodded as Sirius started to do what he had just said. His side didn't hurt that badly anymore, but his whole body still felt really achy, especially where the cuts were. “Are there any cuts on your legs?” Sirius asked, and he shook his head. “Well, that's good. I'm gonna give you some medicine for the pain and then let's go to bed?”
“Okay.”
Sirius got up from the floor, quickly blowing his nose and washing his hands again before getting the painkillers. He dropped the two pills to Remus' outstretched hand and gave him the glass of water. His hands were shaking, almost dropping the glass as he took them.
Sirius offered his hands again, leading him to their bedroom and sitting him down onto the bed as he went to dig their closet. “Are you cold, love?” He asked, turning to look at Remus as he nodded. Sirius dug out a jumper and a pair of pyjama bottoms for him, giving them to Remus before he left their bedroom.
He put the jumper Remus had been wearing into the wash before going to the kitchen, getting another glass of water and some chocolate before going back to the bedroom. He smiled slightly as he looked at Remus, who had already changed into the clothes he was given and was laying down.
He set the things down onto the nightstand, climbing to bed himself and getting under the covers. “I got you some more water, and chocolate if you'd want.” Remus just nodded, turning on his side to look at Sirius.
“Can we cuddle?” He asked quietly, sniffling slightly from the tears that had stopped falling, for now.
“I don't want you to get sick, rem.” He said, coughing a few times as if to prove his point.
“I've probably already caught it.”
“What if you haven't? Then I'll get you all sick and miserable on top of all this.”
“Your hands were already all over me.” He argued back, tiredly. “Sirius, please.” He whispered after a minute as Sirius didn't answer.
“C'mere baby.” He whispered, unable to say no to Remus in this state, even though it wouldn't be the best thing to do in the end. Remus nodded, getting closer to Sirius, feeling finally at ease when Sirius' arms wrapped around him, and he could finally be with him. “Are you feeling any better?” Sirius asked, starting to card his hand through Remus’ hair.
“Yeah. Just tired.” he whispered, closing his eyes. “What about you?”
“What about me?” Sirius asked, turning to cough into his sleeve, before continuing to play with Remus’ hair.
“Are you feeling any better?”
“I am, don’t worry about me, love.” He whispered, kissing his head before leaning back against the pillows. “Sleep now, yeah? You need to rest.” Remus just nodded as Sirius pulled the blankets better over them. “Sleep well, I love you, moony.”
“I love you too.” Remus mumbled back, already starting to fall asleep as both the painkillers Sirius gave him and being up the whole night caught up to him. Sirius stayed awake waiting for Remus to fall asleep before drifting off himself even though it was already morning.
