Winter 1981 - The Trial

Sirius stood before the Judge, and when he sentenced him to life imprisonment he didn't move. Remus, one among the crowd, barely held back a gasp. He felt his heart sink, he felt his hands go to reach out to him and tears fall down his cheeks.

Sirius was roughly grabbed by two guards either side, though he already couldn't move from the handcuffs tying his hands behind his wrists.

"MARAUDERS!" Someone yelled their band name in the courtroom. Everyone looked to the noise, including Remus, finding a familiar looking girl with pink hair, standing on her seat in rebellion.

This is when the rest of the courtroom began to make noise, standing up and shouting. Someone pushed Remus to the floor.

"Remus!" That familiar voice shouted. Remus got up, looking for him but finding it impossible to see with no glasses and in the riot around him. Remus had a bodyguard with him but it didn't make him feel any safer. He fought his way to the front, making his way to Sirius. Someone elbowed Remus in the eye, making him stumble and clutch his now piercing eye. When he looked up; Sirius was fighting the guards who were holding him. He lashed out against their strong grip on him, trying to reach Remus.

Remus wasn't able to get beyond the barrier, so he reached out his arm towards the man who's touch was so so familiar. He stretched out the hand that wasn't clutching his eye.

"Sirius," He whispered.

Sirius broke free from the guards, hysterically kicking his legs and wiggling free. His arms were still tied behind him but he ran for Remus. His eyes where full of plead and total brokenness.

"Remus, Remus, believe me! Believe me, Remus, my Moony!" Sirius begged quietly until it rose to a shout. He managed to reach Remus' hand, setting his wet cheek in it. The guards took him by the legs, his face instantly slamming against the cold, grey floor. "I didn't do it!"

Sirius was lifted and taken away, still pleading with the speechless man behind the wooden barrier. Remus didn't turn his face, watching him go. Watching Sirius take his heart with him. Sirius had taken his heart from the first day they met.

This would be the last time Remus would see Sirius for 12 years.

This was the time he realized he had truly lost them all, when they promised him this'd be forever.

Remus was escorted out, risk of danger to him was high and he couldn't be exposed. Perhaps this was a staged event to get to Remus so no risk could be taken.

Peter hadn't even shown up to the Court, and neither to the funeral.

Peter was gone, making Remus feel so angry. Sirius had killed James and Lily, but why? It became the biggest mystery of the century; now calling the group The "Four Gone Marauders".

Now, and for some time later, Remus is staying in a safe house after receiving death threats and stalkers since the whole ordeal went down. Peter joined a new band, one that was not so famous and escaped any questioning on Peter's involvement with the mad Sirius Black.

Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs were dead. Lily was dead, and their son was gone to the closest relatives.
