Chapter 2
Rio felt conflicted after that conversation with Agatha. On one hand, she was glad to speak to her again, on the other, she was wondering what bothered Agatha so much.
Despite this, she went back to her table and began chatting with people. Unlike earlier, she was able to sound less awkward and zoned out.
She was almost distracted enough that she was surprised when Agatha came up to her.
“That seat’s taken,” Lilia said as Agatha sat down next to Rio.
“I don’t care,” She quickly snapped at her.
Rio chuckled softly, trying to make sure Lilia didn’t hear.
“Agatha..this is Lilia,”
Agatha ignored Rio’s attempts at introducing them, “So, Rio, are you going to be attending the premiere?”
“Most likely,”
“Great,”
“Any reason why you were asking me?”
Agatha averted her eye contact after she asked, “No.”
“Hm, okay.” Rio looked and saw that Agatha hadn’t brought a drink with her, “Would you like a drink?”
“No, I don’t drink..” She replied, her lips curling into a smirk, “Such a gentleman.”
Agatha eyed her up and down, causing Rio’s breath to hitch.
“Are you checking me out, Harkness?”
“So what if I am?” She moved her seat closer to Rio’s before locking eyes with her, “Would you like that?”
Rio let out a hard sigh, biting her lip shortly after.
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
Agatha’s eyes were hooded with desire, but before Rio could open her mouth to comment on it, Agatha was speaking again.
“Your friend left.”
She looked back at the seat next to her, Lilia was nowhere to be seen.
“Oh. She probably didn’t want to intrude.”
“I wouldn’t mind if she did.”
“Hm, do you like making people uncomfortable?”
“Maybe.”
Rio chuckled again.
“Did you think I was joking?” Agatha asked, tilting her head ever so slightly.
“Well, not really. You clearly love to piss people off.”
“Mhm. Does that bother you?” She asked, almost mockingly.
“No. It’s…” Hot. She wanted to say, but she didn’t want to get eye-fucked in public again, “It doesn’t.”
“That’s what I thought.” Agatha said, in a tone that had a hint of dominance in it.
Rio sighed softly, it was going to be difficult for her to get through this party.
-
The morning after the party, Rio had trouble thinking properly. The only thing on her mind was Agatha.
‘She’s got me obsessed.’ She thought to herself as she sat down on her couch.
After the events of last night, Rio found herself more interested in Agatha than she was before. Not just because of the flirting, but she could tell that Agatha was hiding something.
She didn’t expect Agatha to tell her what was bothering her, but it was clear that something was wrong.
Rio groaned, wanting to think of anything else. She didn’t mind thinking about her that much, but the fact that she could barely distract herself was ticking her off.
She lazily got up from her couch and walked over to her kitchen counter, which had her laptop placed on top of it. She sat down and opened it.
She created a new document called ‘UNTITLED SCRIPT’ and started writing immediately.
The entire time, she was thinking about Agatha.
-
She worked for a few hours, not making too much progress with the actual script. She had written down ideas for characters and possible plots, but nothing was set in stone yet.
Of course, working for hours without a break would make someone tired. She got up and began heating a tea kettle when suddenly, she got a notification.
Unsaved number
I fucking hate texting first but hey I guess
Rio
Who is this?
Unsaved number
Agatha
Did you not save my contact
Rio
No, I thought you would do that.
She quickly saved her number as Agatha.
Agatha
You expect too much from me honey
Rio
Well why would you put your number in my contacts without saving it?
Agatha
I thought you should do it yourself
Rio
So do you want to plan?
Agatha
Plan what?
Rio
Me coming over to see Scratchy?
Agatha
Ask a lady to coffee first
But sure
They offered each other dates they were free before eventually deciding on the following Wednesday.
Rio
Now that you mentioned it, are you free to go get a coffee any time soon?
Agatha
I think Saturday will do fine
I have a place we can meet at
Rio
Great!
I’m excited :)

Rio held a cheeky grin on her face as she sipped her tea. She contemplated asking if this was a date, but she ultimately decided against it. She wanted to keep her word about ‘getting to know her more’ before asking her out.
Even though they had spent a good amount of time together on set, it still wasn’t enough. Rio didn’t know much about Agatha, and Agatha probably didn’t know much about her.
Rio was sure that would change soon, but she knew it would take time. She didn’t know how much, but she was willing to wait for it.
