Remus John Lupin

For Merlin! His head was pounding, the full moon had only been two days ago, he was tired and still a little hurt, his friends' conversation given Sirius' recent move hadn't helped at all and he didn't want to be the annoying one to ask for silence, because Este heard everything and smiled as Sirius and James told him about their escape. The torture of the train, however, was little compared to what he felt when entering the main hall, all those voices of students eager to return to Hogwarts, whole summers of news to be told to their friends. By Merlin, when would it end! He could no longer mask his clear discomfort.

Luckily for him, James, as always James, noticed his friend's discomfort and suggested that they go to the room to eat what was left of the snacks that his mother had sent, the four promptly got up and left. Apparently they had reached a silent agreement that they would no longer talk, just eat in silence, all sitting on Sirius' bed enjoying Aunt Effie's delicious treats. They stayed there for a long time until Remus got up and went to his own bed to sleep, around midnight in his light sleep he was woken up by Sirius covering him before taking James' cloak and leaving the room as he did every night. since the previous year, when Walburga forbade Regulus from speaking to his brother in public, after discovering that he had begun to associate with blood traitors and half-breeds.

When he woke up the next day Remus felt better than ever, as he was always the first to wake up, he took a quick shower and went down to the common area with some book he had brought, he waited and after a while Peter and James came down ready, The three sat down and when it was eight o'clock they decided it was time to wake Sirius up before they were late.

"Come on Pads, get up" he said climbing onto his friend's bed

"Let me sleep Monny" grunted the brunette, turning around and pulling him to lie down too

"We can't be late on the first day, Padfoot," Remus grumbled, chuckling lightly as he threw himself onto the mattress.

"Why are you mean to me?" He sat on the bed making a drama, without responding the brunette just got up and pulled Sirius taking him towards the shower. While Sirius sat lazily on the toilet and took off his shirt, Remus turned on the shower, leaving it at a pleasant temperature and separated his friend's shampoo and soap from the cabinet.

"He didn't show up yesterday" he said dejectedly "I waited until late and he didn't come"

"He must be tired, you always arrived exhausted after holidays remember, give him some time. I bet by the end of the week you will have talked and see that he is fine" Sirius just nodded, leaning against the wall

“Take a shower Pads, we'll wait for you downstairs” he finally said and kissed the brunette's forehead before going downstairs.

After a few minutes (almost an hour) of waiting, Sirius went downstairs to join his friends, much more excited than when he woke up. The quartet walked to the main hall leisurely as they chatted. Sirius and James were telling in detail for the millionth time what the escape from the "Black Prison", as they called it, had been like, and their plans to prosecute their parents, which were already underway thanks to the help of James' parents. After breakfast, they were heading to Potions class when they were stopped halfway by Professor Minerva who was running past.

"Hello Minnie" greeted the four

"Hello boys" she greeted simply, she didn't try to reason with them anymore due to the nickname so, avoiding getting tired, she simply started to leave. "Mr Lupin, I was looking for you. I ask that you go to Dumbledore's office, we have an important matter to discuss with you. Your potions teacher has already been notified that he will not be present and after the first class I will join you." Remus nodded.

"I'm going right now professor"

"Mr. Potter, Pettigrew and Black can go to class, only Mr. Lupine is being called" he said firmly, eliciting some murmurs of dissatisfaction from the boys and a light laugh from Remus who followed the path to the classroom from the principal.

"Mister Lupine, please sit down" said the director as soon as the boy entered the room after greeting him, offering a jar of lemon candies to the boy who gladly accepted. "How are you?"

"I'm fine professor, thanks for asking" the boy replied politely before putting the candy in his mouth.

"Mister Lupin, what we have to talk about is serious and I ask that when you leave this room keep it confidential, even from your friends" asked the director, taking a serious tone and receiving an affirmative nod from the student in front of him "Fenir Greyback still is free, in his last trial he was found innocent" he began and the boy tensed up at the name mentioned which awakened unwanted memories "It has come to my attention that during this vacation he attacked a Hogwarts student" as the words were spoken his face fell into pure horror and outrage, another child had been attacked and the ministry insisted that they didn't have enough evidence to arrest him "the boy survived and returned to Hogwarts yesterday like everyone else, I know it's a lot to ask, but I would like you to help the boy. He tends to be a bit introverted and closed off from what the director of his house said, I think he will need a little support"

"When?" Was all Remus could ask "when was he attacked?"

"Three days ago, on the last full moon" replied the director, he knew the young man, he knew that the question already implied that he had been worried and that he was willing to help, so he preferred not to insist further "in a few minutes he should arrive here" he said, finishing the subject, the room went into complete silence and the boy spent the next ten minutes of waiting caressing the phoenix that had landed next to him, while trying to imagine who the student cursed with the same fate as his could be.

The door was opened by the teacher and the Slytherin who was right behind made him look astonished, his eyes must have been lying to him, it must have been a mistake. Perhaps some fight in the room justified the boy's presence there, but he couldn't believe that Regulus Black, his best friend's brother, was the child who had been attacked by Fenir.
