Lost and found
It all began with a call. Well truly, it all began over a year prior when people disappeared. One was reported when he failed to return from patrol merely hours after he had last been seen. Another was taken on his way back from school though his disappearance wasn’t officially reported for almost a month. The last was never reported as no one ever cared to notice in the end for they were already thought to be dead and considered it better that way.
It was not a call that anybody had been expecting, an unknown number calling the UA high school’s principal was unusual to say the least, especially after hours. Strange that one of the most intelligent and resourceful beings on the planet had not the slightest clue who was going to be on the other end. Regardless, unfailing curiosity led to it being answered.
“Am I a rat,a bear, or a dog? No one knows! Principle Nezu speaking. How did you get this number? It is a personal number and I would like to know how you got it.” came the voice out of a beat up and recently stolen phone, much to the delight of the prisoners who finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Each of them moved closer to the device that was desperately clutched in one’s shaking hand.
The voice that answers rasps as someone who has gone far too long without a drink and wheezes to minimize the pain coming from their ribs, they say “A hero gave it to me and told me that you are a hero”.
“If I am ask, who has told you such things? Do you need a hero?”
“We are in need of assistance. I already have my hero , Aizawa, who told me your number” came the young voice, scared and timid. There was a bout of coughing in the background that sounded painful, in addition to sounding like his missing student.
“I see. What kind of assistance do you require? Medical?”
Nezu quickly moved to track the call. His student who had disappeared almost a year prior had been found. Reaching out, a team was quickly assembled to go find Aizawa who had left a hole in the heart of many with his disappearance and missing presumed dead status. There would be no shortage of volunteers for this rescue mission.
“No ”— harsh coughing cut them off—“Well, I guess so” — another set of coughing began. This time the person wheezed after the coughing stopped. “There have been experiments” came the soft voice being the recognizable voice of his former student.
A fit of rage could not begin to describe the expression on the principal's face as he heard that. He contacted the police, called two of Aizawa’s closest friends to his office, and got everything ready for the mission. A faint tapping of nails against metal came through the phone this time, gaining the attention of the principal once more.
They spoke again, sounding distant, this time “What is it, Harry?” More faint tapping followed, seemingly meaning something to the voice on the other end.
Finally having gotten the location from the call they were delighted to have just the people they were looking for walk into their office.
“What is it?” the two heroes asked.
“I have a lead on him” without question who he was, both heroes brighten.
A scream came out of the phone and the voice spoke again “It would be best if you come quick. I’m not sure how long we have until they come back. Harry will meet whoever you send outside and guide them in”. Loud footsteps echoed and the sound of harsh yelling came out. The call dropped dead.
An uneasy silence overtook the heroes, before Nezu cleared his throat. “You’ll meet the other heroes at the location from the phone and bring them home”
The two left with hardened resolve in their eyes at the chance of seeing their friend again.
