Hermione’s eyes were fixed on the desk while Binns droned on the background. Hogwarts was a boarding school filled with teenagers so defilement of school property was to be expected. What she didn’t expect was to find a heart on her desk in the History of Magic classroom with the initials “L.B. + T.R.” engraved on the inside of it.
She wasn’t jealous. She wasn’t. But really?! Lavender?! She was so… beneath him. Hermione gritted her teeth and bode her time while Binns continued to lecture on this Goblin Rebellion or another, completely oblivious to the storm that was brewing in his classroom.
The bell signaled the end of the wait and Hermione practically flew out of the classroom.
She found him in the courtyard, surrounded by his cronies, as was to be expected. What she didn’t expect was the girl in his lap. It wasn’t her proudest moment, it really wasn’t but her magic took charge and a shrill scream echoed through the courtyard.
Lavender’s luscious locks were no more.
Hermione hadn’t lost control of her magic like that in years. Last time it was during primary school, when a boy had taken her book from her and wouldn’t give it back.
Hermione didn’t like it when people touched her things.
And he was. Hers.
