Scp-1998 "The Wand"

Containment procedures: Scp-1998 is to be placed in a 20x5x4" lead box, wrapped in a magnetic field, surrounded by a 50x50x50" iron box surrounded by its own magnetic field. This is further to be aced in a 10x10x10' room filled with lethal gas, never to be entered under any circumstances. Any personnel found to attempt to breach the containment room are to be cleared of any psychic influences, and eliminated if clearing is impossible.
Description: Scp-1998 is a wooden rod, made of elder wood and with a "core" of Thestral hair, 15" long with several knobs along its length. It was brought to Foundation personnel attention by the same two individuals who brought Scp-1996 to Foundation notice [REDACTED][REDACTED],after the former displaying unusual and worrying behavior after coming into possession of 1998. Scp-1998 is also noted to have a kind of intelligence that seems to want to perpetuate death and destruction everywhere it goes. It is a channeling instrument of a unknown type of energy consistent with the energy put out in incident 1996-1. The main hazard is the tendency to influence and warp the wielder of 1998 in a manner that fits its seeming purpose to cause death and destruction. It may even, if facing severe resistance from its wielder, possess the victim. 1998, after exhaustive research, has left a trail of death and destruction going back centuries, or longer.
Personal note: these two seem to have both the best and worst luck when it comes to these things; if the stories that they have told are true, then it is truly just another day for them...must keep an eye on them in case they happen across other objects.
