As I watched him be shoved through the Veil, I felt my heart shatter in my chest. The sound was deafening. Our eyes, they never met as he was watching our pup. Wishing him the best as I stood there: alone. I had to watch my second chance with my mate, love of my life pass through my fingers once more. I had to see all our hopes and dreams slip away. I felt like our lives flashed before my eyes like the pranks we pulled, first kiss by the lake and him holding our pup in his arms.
I knew I had to be there for our pup. I had to stand with the others and fight “the good fight”.
I roll my eyes at the phase now. The war that was started between two mad men who believe they were in the right. But I couldn’t do it without him again. I needed him and this war just kept stealing more of my family.
