The climb
Regulus adjust the backpack on his shoulders. One would say that he would get used to it already after almost a month of backpacking through Europe. Well, he didn’t. But it’s bearable because honestly, he is having the time of his life. There are some lows of course but the highs outshine it.
James decided they will have a picnic on the top of the hill. He has already been to this city before, so he has mapped all the places worth visiting. Regulus looks up the hill and he’s sure it will be exhausting to climb up there, but he has the feeling that the view will be worth it.
Suddenly James turns right even though the sign of the road points out straight ahead. Before Regulus can ask James has already disappeared into the bushes. He hesitantly follows him. He frowns when he walks past a warning sign- do not enter.
“James?” He calls out and hurries to find him.
“Yes?” James’ head appears from behind a tree.
“We can’t be here.”
“Why?”
“There was a sign.” Regulus sights.
“Oh yeah. Everybody ignores it. Don’t worry.”
They finally get through the bushes and a small path appears in front of them right at the edge of the cliff leading to the top.
“No,” Regulus says resolutely.
“Come on Reg. It’s shorter this way.”
“It’s dangerous this way.” Regulus corrects.
James just smirks at him. “Well, what’s a life without a little risk?”
“Safe.” Regulus scoffs and crosses his arms at his chest.
James just runs towards him pealing his arm from the tight hold and starts tugging Regulus up.
“Don’t worry, a lot of people walk here.”
“If I die, Potter, I will come back just to hunt you.”
“Sure, love. Looking forward to it. Now come on.”
