The Definition of Surprise: An unexpected or astonishing event, fact, or thing.
The thing they don't tell you is. That a surprise can either be good or bad. Hermione Granger is an expert on this.
Her first surprise happened on September 19th of 1990. When an older woman. Came to her suburban London home to tell her she was a witch and that she would attend Hogwarts. That had been a splendid surprise.
The following bad and good surprises had happened after October 31st of 1991. When she saw her first troll and made her two best friends. After that it had been a mix of good, and bad surprises.
The biggest surprise in her teen years. Had been in early December of 1994. When Viktor Krum, a famous quidditch player, asked her to the Yule Ball. She had said yes and then surprised everyone. When she walked into the Great Hall arm in arm with Viktor Krum.
But the worst surprise Hermione had received. Had occurred on September 12th 2000. When she walked in on her boyfriend Ronald Weasley. Having sex with another witch. No other than Hufflepuff Susan Bones.
But that bad surprise turned out to be the best thing to happen to Hermione. The next pleasant surprise happened far from home. When her first boyfriend, Viktor Krum had fingered, eaten and fucked her cunt out. Turing her 21st birthday in a private night club in Bulgaria.
And Viktor hasn't stopped surprising her since...
September 18th 2003
Hermione woke up to an empty bed. This was not normal for her. She always woke up to a warm and strong body next to her. Especially since Viktor has retired from his quidditch career and had opened his own restaurant.
Plus with her birthday not so far away it wasn't normal for him not to be in bed with her. Viktor had always started his pre-birthday spoils. Which started with him barrier in between her legs.
"Petia." Hermione called out. The older female house elf popped into her bedroom. "Miss Hermione called for Petia?" the free house elf asked.
"Yes Petia. Do you know where Viktor is?" Hermione asked. Petia nodded. "Mr. Krum left early this morning. Does Miss. Hermione wants breakfast?" the elf asked. Hermione nodded and decided to get ready. To have breakfast without her boyfriend.
Petia had grown very close to Hermione. Since the day she walked into Viktor's home. Even more when Petia found out. That Hermione had accepted to be Viktor's girlfriend.
Petia had raised Viktor since he was born. Petia had stayed with him even after she had been freed. That had happened after Viktor had returned from Hogwarts and told Petia of the witch he met.
Hermione had her breakfast and then flo over to her company. A company that surely would surprise anyone who had known her before. Because who would've guessed that Hermione's Yule Ball robes. Had not been bought in any shop but made by herself.
Six months after she reconnected with Viktor. He had encouraged her to follow her dream. Which didn't include working in a Ministry office but opening her own fashion line.

"Miss. Granger! You're here?" her secretary Nathalie announced with a little too much pitch in her voice. Hermione lifted her eyebrows and nodded. "Yes, I am here. This is my company. Is there a problem?"
Hermione was not having a good morning and her secretary was making things much more odd. She took the files and headed into her office.
She opened the door to her office and noticed something was missing. There were no flowers. Viktor always sends her flowers the day before her birthday.
Mostly since he didn't let her work on her birthday. And decided to send her early birthday flowers. But now her office just smelled of parchment, leather but no flowers.
The fall line was just weeks away. From being shown to the public. Which helped her stay busy. Before she knew it. It was lunch time. Nathalie came in with a salad and a letter. "Ms. Granger, you got an invitation for a business dinner." the young witch told her.
"For when?" Hermione asked not looking up. But when her secretary didn't answer Hermione put her quil down and looked up at Nathalie.
"When!?" Hermione repeated. Nathalie played with her hair. "Tonight, here is the address." Nathalie told her, handing her the letter and then ranaway.
Rolling her eyes. Hermione took the letter. She started to read and got even more frustrated if possible.
Dear Ms. Granger
I have been told. You are looking for an associate. I am a man of money. And I am willing to inject some money into your company. I will be out of the country and I only have today free. I will meet you at La Matisse at 10 p.m. Please dress to impress.
Sincerely: Mr. MURK
"Just great." she murmured.
But having known Viktor wasn't going to be around. She would accept a dinner date. Plus it would be a good excuse to get drunk.
With that in mind. She left her office at nine. Nathalie had given her a small present. Then Nathalie smiled at her before she floo away.
Arriving at home she found Petia waiting for her. "Ms. Hermione, you're finally here. Ms. Nathalie sent me an owl. Telling me about your dinner." Petia said way too excited.
"Fine. Just give me, my black dress. I am going to take a shower." Hermione told her. As she left to the bathroom.
Hermione took a quick shower. Not too excited about the dinner for tonight. Especially since Viktor hadn't even owl her.
What was wrong with him? Had she done something wrong? Has their happy relationship gone down a slope? Was he going to break up with her?
All these thoughts ended. When she got to her room and saw her favorite red dress. "Petia! I asked for the black dress. You know Viktor loves me in this dress. Why would you give me this dress?" she asked.
The house elf just smiled and left the room. "Don't arrive late and take your time. Goodnight mistress." Petia said leaving.
Hermione rolled her eyes. But put on the red dress since Petia had taken everything else out. She put on her silver heels and left

Hermione arrived at the address that she had been given. It was strange. She knew this street but instead of seeing Viktor's Italian restaurant. She saw a French bistros.
"Hello Ms. Granger, welcome. Follow me to your table." Nathalie told her. Hermione froze for a second. "Nat, what are you doing here?" But Nathalie just smiled and walked away.
The restaurant was beautiful but looked off. As it had been charmeda to look different. The sky had been enchanted to look like the night sky. It made her smile. Since it reminded her of her first night at Hogwarts.
The table was in the middle of the restaurant. The seats were comfortable. They must cost a fortune. In front of her the silver plates were empty. Only a single red flower was laying on the table.
"Hello koroleva." a husky voice said.
Hermione gasped and turned around. She turned around to see a tall, muscular, dark hair wizard. He was beautiful and smiling at her.
"Viktor?" she whispered. But instead of responding. Viktor just leaned in and kissed her. Hermione hummed and kissed him back.
"I love you koroleva. Sorry but I wanted to surprise you." Viktor said as he sat next to her. Hermione just squinted her eyes and punched his arm.
"Owe. That hurt love. You are small but you have a strong left hook." Viktor told her in an upset voice. But then just smiled and kissed her pout.
"I hate you." Hermione whispered but smiled. "I love you too babe. Now let's enjoy our night." Viktor told her.
Hermione giggled. "So Mr. MURK really?" she asked. Viktor laughed. "I am sorry babe. But you're the smart one in this relationship." Viktor told her.
"You are smart love. If you weren't you wouldn't be opening another successful business. Plus you're an amazing cook." Hermione told him leaning in to kiss him.
Two hours later Petia walked over with their final course. "Here are your chocolate volcanos with a white dome." the little house elf announced.
Hermione smiled and took her spoon to break her dome. When she finally broke it. She was surprised to see a ruby ring. Coming out from the volcano cake.
Looking up she saw Viktor down on one knee. Taking the ring from her plate and cleaning it. All while Hermione tried not to break into tears.
"Hermione. This ring was my godmother. She gave it to me. Telling me to give it to the woman. Who caught my heart."
"The thing I didn't expect. Was to meet that woman at the age of eighteen. When I went to compete for my life."
"I was used to witches falling at my feet. So when a curly brunette didn't fall for me. I knew I found the woman for me. But then I lost you. And had given up on getting you again." Viktor said, starting to cry.
"Yet two years ago. You fell on my life. I promised myself that night. That I wouldn't let you go ever again."
"Hermione Jean Granger, help me keep that promise. Would you marry me, my koroleva?" Viktor asked.
Hermione could only nod and give Viktor her left hand. While he placed the ruby ring on her finger. He whispered a protection charm.
Viktor lifted her from her chair and kissed her. "I love you Viktor. I love you so much." Hermione murmured into his lips.
They only pulled apart. When they heard small sobs. When they turned around. They saw Nathalie and Petia crying into a cloth napkin.
"Oh Petia is so happy. Petia can't wait till master Viktor and Ms. Hermione become Mrs. Krum. Then has master babies" Petia said.
"I can't wait for us to start planning your wedding dress. Mrs. Krum." Nathalie said not carrying that Hermione wasn't married yet.
Hermione and Viktor only nodded with a smile. This was the best surprise she had ever gotten. She couldn't wait for more life surprises to come her way.
Thankfully Hermione would get a double surprise in the next seven years.
