Day 1
Howard University 2006 is where it all starts. Ava has just said goodbye to her grandma and dad and is ready to start her journey of college. As soon as she walked into the college, a waft of cocoa butter and soul filled the air. Ava went all over the school to find her dorm but when she did, it was already unlocked. She saw a woman in her dorm reading a book by a desk.
“What in the Juvenile? Who are you? And I know you didn’t pick the good side of the dorm.” Ava asked, staring at the girl. Normally people would be begging to be friends with Ava but this girl didn’t seem to care.
“Crystal Riley, and you are?” The girl asked closing her book. She seemed annoyed that Ava had interrupted her reading. Ava just stood there in awe, staring at the girl. “Um hello? You chill?” Crystal questioned noticing Ava’s stares.
”Oh, um I’m Ava, Ava Coleman. Nice to meet you Crystal. What you readin? You seem like you likin it.” Ava sat down on the nearby bed. Crystal put her bookmark in her book, and she looked at Ava. “Common Sense, by the great Thomas Payne. It looks like you need it.” Crystal replied with a bitter attitude. “Damn girl no need to be so salty girl. Just asking a damn question.” Crystal started to giggle a bit by Ava’s bluntness. She told it like it was and she liked it. They talked for hours and hours about the most random things and they found out they had lots in common. Ava was the loud dramatic social butterfly while Crystal was a chill serious girl, who barely had fun. They worked together real well. “You don’t see like you’ll be a bad roommate.” Crystal said and Ava replied shortly after. “Thanks? You aren’t so bad yourself girl. We make a good team. I keep you from being boring and you keep me from wildin out.”
And that started a spark between the 2 girls
