Chapter 2
She couldn’t hide her surprise at first, although thinking about it she did remember that of
course, as someone that liked to investigate and learn more and more, the fact that it was part
of the managing of the creatures was to find new habitats, and to rescue and find new ones as
well.
Newt must have found her expression amusing, also he didn’t want to scare her, so he quickly
replied to her with an unsure gesture.
“I…...I mean it was only a thought. It just occurred to me; you know? The weather is so nice,
and the summer is turning out to be quite hot, I thought it would be nice, to go to a place near
water uhm, near the beach maybe.”.
The idea of going to a summer trip, the two of them sounded wonderful to her. Of course, that
some people wouldn’t see it right and would think it strange. But he didn’t care, he didn’t
mind, and she loved that, full of surprises and always being his own without caring what other
said.
A smile spread through her as she was going to reply, but he continued talking before she
could.
“Besides, I mean, you’ve been working so hard. And I think I has been a while since you’ve
taken some time off, I think you really deserve some sort of vacation.”
Oh. That was different from what she expected, she thought that this would be like a work-
related trip. So, he really wanted her to come with him?
“Newt, I absolutely love the idea, and I think it sounds so good, but I wanted to ask some
things, if that’s okay.”
“Of course!”
“So, this is going to be a vacation, both of us would travel to the coast and would take the
creatures? Right? And it would be for how long? And to where?”
The copper haired magizoologist sat leaned gently against the door frame of the kitchen of his
flat and looked at her after taking a sip of the glass.
“Well, I would still be looking and taking care of the creatures, but you would be resting. Well,
to be honest at least until the very end. I want you too learn and see something new.”
She interrupted him playfully “I knew there was a catch.”
Making a mock hurt expression and putting his hand in his chest a bit, he continued to tell her
about the plan.
“You caught me, I’m so sorry, but you know what? I’m being serious about the vacation. I want
you to go out and relax, but also to really get off from work so, after this you can get a break
from all this entirely, you can have an entire week completely off, or two if you’d like? You’ve
been working nonstop for four months now with only Sunday and some Saturdays off, so,
what do you think?”
Spending time away from him did not sound pleasant at all. She didn’t mind working hard, or
being with him from morning to afternoon, but too, she knew that this was professional, and that she shouldn’t bother him or overstep. So as always, she just tried to hold back how she
felt for him and just told him that the week off after the trip would be okay, and that it
wouldn’t be a problem. Also turns out that what he was talking about in regards of learning
was that some creatures, a special kind of Shrakes, migrated this time of year and were
apparently establishing on one of the sides of Blackpool.
“It’s rare, this only happens at this time of year. But anyway, I’m so sorry to ramble about it.
Oh, and, since you asked about how much time, I think five days of being there, or a week
would be good. What do you think?”
It could be something small, but it made her happy how he always had her in consideration
and asked her opinion on the things that were happening or to be done.
“I agree, it will be good” She was excited and elated, it was going to be quite something to get
the chance to do this. She tried to calm her mind, but it was already having a million thoughts
at a time.
They started the workday and through it, Bunty would start daydreaming, and start to plan the
things that might be there and what she would have to take and pack.Before she knew it, it was time for her to go back home again. But of course, at bed, then she
dreams all about it, and it felt so real because the fact it was true that she was going to spend
a vacation with his boss-that she was in love with, unfortunately. And that also kept her up at
first, too… she kept just thinking about if she should say something, sometime. It scared her
because she felt that saying anything about how she felt would push him away, so being quiet
and keeping the relationship they had, was much safer.
