Deals with the Devil or Dark Lord
~Albus Dumbledore’s POV~
Everything was going wrong for Albus. Albus let his magic out and destroyed his office. The entire point of the Cerberus being in the third-floor corridor was to delay Voldemort until I was ready. But no, someone had to report the dog. Now I have to pay Hagrid’s and my fines. We also have to appear in court. My reputation is now ruined due to that Skeeter person. She is becoming more of a problem than she is worth. I need to get rid of her somehow. And Harry. What can I do about that silly boy? He couldn’t be sorted into Gryffindor like a good little puppet. He never talks to Ron or Hermione without insulting them. He isn’t being ostracized in Slytherin! He’s being accepted and is taking a pseudo-leader role! Nothing is going right! Maybe I’ll call him up to my office again. This time with compulsions saying to go without Severus. Then I’ll send a few more compulsions when we are talking. I’ll also need to set up another leech soon. The ones on those fools in Azkaban are draining less magic due to dementor exposure. Albus waved his hand and everything rested the way things were.
~Hadrian’s POV~
~One day after Fluffy was taken out of the school~
Hadrian and his friends were heading to the library when they reached the third-floor corridor. Hadrian did a subtly hand motion, wandlessly and wordlessly setting up a detection ward around the entrance of the corridor.
~Voldemort’s POV~
Voldemort grumbled. I went through all that trouble of smuggling a dragon in, getting that stupid giant drunk enough to talk and find out how to get past the Cerberus only for it to be moved the next day by Aurors. Well, now it’s time to get my body back.
After Quirrell had done his nightly patrols around the hallways, he went straight to the third-floor corridor and entered.
~Hadrian’s POV~
Hadrian’s eyes chit open as he heard the ward he set up on the entrance to the third-floor corridor go off. He quietly got out of bed and disillusioned himself, before heading to the corridor.
When he got there, he went straight down the trapdoor and passed the devil’s snare. He nudged the door to the key room open after hearing some mumbling.
“My lord, how shall I get the key?” Professor Quirrell muttered.
“Use accio,” someone said. Hadrian glanced around the room from behind the door. There’s no one there! Who’s talking?
“Yes, my lord. Accio old key,” Professor Quirrell cast. If someone was here with me, I’d bet my entire bank account that the person Quirrell is talking to is Voldemort. Hadrian then left the room and went back to his dorm. So I now know who’s trying to steal the stone. I bet Voldemort wants to use the stone to get his body back. So how do I deal with this? Well, I did promise Draco that I would tell him what I was up to. And Theo knows a thing or two about strategy. Plus if they know, and I threaten him by say, taking the stone hostage, I could have the, destroy the stone if I’m dead. Hadrian went to bed after that.
~The next day~
Hadrian got up, got dressed, and sat down in the first-year common room and waited for the rest of them like normal.
~1 hour later~
All of the first years eventually assembled in their common room. Blaise looked at Draco, who in turn looked at Hadrian.
“So, are you going to tell us why you keep disappearing and doing incredibly suspicious stuff?” Draco asked.
“I suppose. How much do you guys know about the Socerror’s Stone?” Hadrian asked.
Most of them looked confused, but Theo’s eyes lit up in recognition.
“It was created by Nicolas Flamel’s alchemic genius, right?” Theo asked.
Hadrian nodded. “You all remember the Cerberus incident right?” At the other first years’ head nods Hadrian continued. “The Cerberus was protecting something.”
“No!” Blaise loudly exclaimed. The others looked at him in confusion before putting it together as well.
“The Cerberus was protecting a trap door that led to a series of challenges. Once someone completed the challenges, they could obtain the Socerror’s Stone. I wrote to Mr. Flamel about the stone and he told me to keep it,” Hadrian explained.
“The package,” Draco stated. The others looked confused for a second, before nodding as well.
“Then, I set up a ward around the entrance to the corridor,” Hadrian said.
“The hand movement you did when we passed by it, right?” Daphne asked. Hadrian nodded.
“Last night, it went off. So I spelled myself invisible and went to the corridor. I saw Professor Quirrell talking to himself. He referred to whoever he was talking to as ‘my lord.’” Hadrian said.
“You don’t think…” Pansy started.
“Who else would answer to that?” Hadrian asked her. She nodded.
“You want to confront him today, don’t you,” Millicent said. Hadrian nodded.
“If you're going to confront him, then I want to be there with you,” Draco stated. Everyone looked at him like he was crazy for a second.
“I’ll go to,” Theo said. Eventually, they all agreed to go with Hadrian and he made his way to the classroom after lunch as they would use their free period to talk with Professor Quirrell, who wouldn’t be teaching for that period. Hadrian entered the classroom with Draco while the rest of them waited outside.
“H-hello M-mr. P-Perevell-potter. W-what c-can I d-do for y-you?” Professor Quirrell asked.
Hadrian looked at him. “I would like to know why you were in the third-floor corridor and why you were talking to yourself. Now, should you wish to wipe my memories or injure myself or Draco in any way, our friends outside have been ordered to go directly to the board of Hogwarts. Professor Quirrell’s eyes turned red for a minute and Hadrian felt a sting in his scar.
“And why, Mr. Perevell-Potter, did you not do that to begin with?” Professor Quirrell asked.
“Because I wish to make a deal with you, Dark Lord,” Hadrian said plainly. Draco looked at him, shocked. Did I forget to tell him that I wanted to make a deal with the Dark Lord? Or is it that I called Voldemort the Dark Lord?
“And why would the Boy-Who-Lived wish to make a deal with his enemy?” Professor Quirrell asked, but he now had red eyes, so Hadrian assumed he was talking to the Dark Lord. Again, he felt a sting in his scar.
“Because I find that I agree with your ideals the most,” Hadrian said plainly.
“Oh? So what are the conditions of your deal?” The Dark Lord asked.
“I know you probably want to have a body back and I want an alliance. One where I don’t have to worry about being forced to fight in the war. I also don’t want to have to worry about you torturing my friends for simple mistakes or things outside the realm of their control,” Hadrian explained.
The Dark Lord nodded. “I can do that. I didn’t start torturing my followers till the end of the war, and I was less than sane at that time.”
“So, we have a deal?” Hadrian asked. The Dark Lord nodded. “I have the Socerror’s Stone. What were you planning on doing with it after you retrieved the stone?”
“I have a ritual to restore my body. I will need to retrieve a few items, but it will work,” the Dark Lord explained.
“What can I do to help?” Hadrian asked.
“We,” Draco said. The Dark Lord looked at Draco a little surprised. Hadrian sent Draco a questioning look.
“What can we do to help? There is no way in a million years I’m letting you do something potentially dangerous with me. And I guarantee that none of our friends will let you either,” Draco explained. Hadrian nodded. The Dark Lord looked uncertain but nodded as well.
“So, what do we need to get?” Hadrian asked.
“I need you to go to the Room of Requirement, which is located on the seventh floor in the left corridor of the Hogwarts castle and has a hidden entrance opposite the tapestry depicting the attempt of Barnabas the Barmy to teach trolls ballet. The way to open the room was to walk past it three times while thinking about the Diadem of Ravenclaw, and a door will appear. - AN all of the italicized, bolded words were taken directly from Harry Potter Wiki. I was too lazy to type them out myself, so you get this. There are changes to the text to better fit the context but is otherwise unedited. The diadem has a blue stone in the center and should be in the room. I also need you to get Slytherin’s Locket. It should be in a cave. It's a green locket with an S on it. Draco, I’ll need to you contact your Father and have him find the dairy I entrusted to him. Tell him I told you so.” the Dark Lord said.
A locket with an S on it and green, WAIT! I’ve seen that locket in Grimmauld Place. “I don’t think your locket is in that cave of yours. I’ve seen it where I’m currently living. Over Spring Break, I’ll get it,” Hadrian said.
“It is a shame you are not an heir to one of the Hogwarts founders, then you’d just be able to ask one of the house elves to go to your home and get it for you,” the Dark Lord said. Hadrian’s eyes lit up. Should I tell him?
“I am the current lord of Gryffindor,” Hadrian said. Both Draco and the Dark Lord looked at him in shock. “What?”
“Then do it now,” Draco said.
“Hogwarts house elf?” Hadrian called out. A crack was heard and a house elf appeared.
“Lord Gryffindor need something?” The elf asked.
“Yes, can you go to 12 Grimmauld Place and retrieve a locket that is green and has an S on it? Also, if Kreacher, who is another house elf, is there, tell him you are taking it so he doesn’t freak out. He likes to know everything that goes on in the house,” Hadrian said. The house elf nodded and apparated out of the room. A few moments later, the house elf popped back in and gave Hadrian the locket.
“If you need something, just call out for Jiffy,” the house elf said before leaving. Hadrian handed the locket to the Dark Lord and cast *Tempus*.
“It seems it's time for your next class. Contact me when you get all of the items,” the Dark Lord said. Hadrian and Draco nodded before leaving the classroom.
Later that evening, they explained everything to their friends who were waiting outside.
