Chapter 2
I went to respond to Phineas' declaration but the door opened and Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall came back in. "Well, now, where were we?" Dumbledore asked.
"We were discussing how I think Re-Sorting them is a bad idea, Albus," Professor McGonagall said.
"It's fine, Professor," I said.
"We want to," Harry said. "We know Professor Dumbledore's decision is the right one." For us.

Harry stepped up to be Re-Sorted. I know he'll tell me later what the Hat says. After a few minutes, Harry's Sorting was over and he was Sorted into Slytherin to the Gryffindors' obvious anger, confusion and concern. The Slytherins were also shocked but they accepted him easily and he sat down next to Draco and Parkinson. I walked over to the Hat and sat down. The Hat was placed on my head. "Ah, Miss Granger, you're back... Or, should I say, Miss Slytherin?"
"What?"
"There's only one place for you. You'll do great things, Miss Slytherin... SLYTHERIN!" The Hat yelled and the whole hall was silent until Harry started clapping. This spurred the Gryffindors into making their displeasure known and the Slytherins into clapping. I walked over to Harry, Draco and Parkinson. Parkinson moved over so I could sit between her and Harry. I tried not to blush at the idea of sitting next to her, especially since Greengrass was on her other side to make it harder for me.
"We'll discuss this in the Common Room," Marcus Flint, seventh-year Slytherin Quidditch Captain, said to me and Harry.

"So, we have The Boy Who Lived and a former Mudblood in our House," Marcus said with a displeased expression before it changed into a grin a few seconds later to a grin. "Take that, Gryffindor! We've got their best Quidditch Player and the person who gains the highest amount of House Points for Gryffindor in our House. The Quidditch Cup and House Cup are in the bag for next year! ... Potter, you're Quidditch Captain for next year and Slytherin's Seeker. Malfoy, you're a Chaser next year since I won't be here next year." Draco just shrugged.
"Okay, cool," he said before looking at me and Harry. "There are some rules in Slytherin you'll have to follow. The first is Slytherins don't fight with other Slytherins outside of the Common Room so you'll have to set aside whatever problem you have with me the moment we leave the Common Room. Second--"
"I don't have a problem with you," Harry interrupted Draco and Draco just looked confused. Harry explained what we'd talked about in Dumbledore's office but he left out what Phineas had said and about the abuse we're put through. Draco and every other Slytherin (as everyone was listening to the conversation) looked outraged. "So, can we just start over?"
"Sure," Draco smirked at him. "And I'm Malfoy. Draco Malfoy." I snickered and Harry grinned.
"Pleased to meet you, Draco," he said and he shook the hand Draco offered him. Draco faced me before giving me a contemplative look. He reached his hand out and I shook it.
"You do know, Granger, that it's impossible for a Mudblood to be Sorted into Slytherin. Salazar enchanted the Hat against Mudbloods in his House since he wasn't allowed to ban them from Hogwarts entirely," Draco said.
"I have heard about that," I said. "It seems that there's a conversation I have to have with my parents when I get back to my house." I conveniently left out the fact that it may be my house but that place had never been my home. Draco and Harry nodded.
"So, things work differently for Slytherin," Parkinson said. "In the other Houses, the dorms are one for the boys and one for the girls and are split by year. However, Slytherins are two boys or two girls in a room and if there's an odd amount, one gets their own room. So, Draco had a room to himself until now so he will be sharing it with Harry. As there was already an even amount of girls, you'll get your own room."
"So, that means Draco and Harry, Blaise and Theo, Crabbe and Goyle, me and Pansy and Tracey and Millie are sharing rooms," Greengrass said. "And you'll have your own room. Your stuff should already be in your rooms. Draco's room would have already expanded to include Harry's bed and some space for him and your room should have created itself already. The rooms have names written on the doors so you'll know which room is yours immediately. Each room has a bathroom for that room's occupants. So, there isn't one bathroom for the entire House for girls and one for boys." All of the Slytherins looked horrified at the idea of all members of a House having to share with their gender. The door to the Common Room opened and Professor Snape walked in. He stopped when he noticed me and Harry.
"Ah," he said. "Our new Snakes... Welcome to Slytherin." Professor Snape had a weird expression on his face... Wait... Is he trying to smile? It looks creepy and wrong. He clearly can't stand Harry so it makes sense that, while he's trying to smile, he finds himself incapable. "I'm sure your classmates have explained the rules to you?" He looked at Draco.
"Actually, Sir, we only got through the first rule," Draco said, sheepishly. Professor Snape scowled at Draco before looking back at me and Harry.
"Well, the second rule of Slytherin is to not get caught breaking the rules," Professor Snape said. Harry and I exchanged looks. That's not going to be easy but he did basically just say we can break the rules as much as we like as long as we're not caught doing it. "The third rule is, if you MUST be caught, try to get caught by me or a Slytherin Prefect/Head Boy/Girl. Do try to be less of the dunderheads you have proven to be in the past." Professor Snape left.

The last two weeks have been a mix of good, bad, shock, confusion, anger and a rollercoaster of several other emotions. The first week was my last week at Hogwarts/my first week as a Slytherin. It was the best week I've had at Hogwarts so far. However, the second week/the first week of the holidays was a horrible week. I talked to my parents adoptive parents and they told me that I was adopted. An old man with a white beard (I'm pretty sure that person was Dumbledore) left me on their doorstep (Dumbledore seems to have a habit of leaving children on people's doorsteps). They hadn't known that I had Magic at the time so they'd taken me in. Now that they know I have Magic, they don't want me anymore and they demanded that I leave and never come back. I left for Diagon with my stuff this morning to meet Harry and now we are walking to Gringotts Bank. "So, they just kicked you out?" Harry asked.
"Yep," I said. "Did your aunt and uncle really just let you leave with over a month left of the holiday?"
"Yeah, I blew aunt Marge up last summer like a balloon, remember?" Harry and I grinned. We entered Gringotts and walked over to a Goblin.
"Hi, Harry and I would like a Goblin Blood Adoption Ritual to make us siblings, please," I said.
"Yeah, we can pay for it through my Vault, the Potter Vault," Harry said. The Goblin took us to the Vault to take out the money for the Ritual (it cost 100 Galleons!!!) and to take out the money so Harry and I could buy a place on Diagon Alley to live in. The Goblin took us to a room with many different Runes all over the walls and floor. We stood inside a circle-shaped Rune and the Goblin had us use a knife to cut our palms and told us to press our cut palms against the other's cut palms. We did as we were told and our hands started to glow a bright golden colour. Once the glow had disappeared, the Goblin took us to an office-like room.
"You can either leave now or take Heritage Tests to see what you are now Heirs to and, potentially claim Heirships and/or Lordships/Ladyships," the Goblin said. "If you choose to do this, it will cost you," the Goblin said with a greedy grin. "And, you will have to choose your new names. They can be the same or different but everything will update to your new names."
"Why?" Harry asked.
"Because you now have new parents as well as your old parents," the Goblin said. "More parents means that if they'd been given the opportunity to name you, you may have ended up with a different name so now is your chance to change your name."
"We'll do the Tests," I said and Harry nodded. He gave the Goblin the 100 Galleons for the two 50 Galleon Heritage Tests. We were both instructed to drop five drops of blood onto the parchment the Goblin passed to us. Harry and I looked at my results first.
