Chapter 9
Theo and Daisy spent their nights in the Room of Requirement doing research. The students assumed that Voldemort had chosen Horcruxes that had historical or sentimental value since, in his desire to become the greatest wizard in history, only objects of notable importance met his standards and could therefore have the honor of guarding a fragment of his soul.
Judging from the medallion, they thought he had used something related to the 4 founders. Certain he wouldn't touch anything belonging to Gryffindor, they were looking for what the items belonging to Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw might be.
" There would be the Cup of Helga Hufflepuff. " she said, thoughtfully. " But I couldn't tell you where she might have hidden it. "
" It's going to be difficult to do such research, isn't it? " he groaned, closing the book in his hands and looking at her for attention. " Let's take a break. "
" I could ask Luna if she knows anything about her house. " she said, agreeing to a pause.
Theo then lay down, resting his head on the girl's legs as the latter absentmindedly ran her fingers through his dark locks. " The day we fought, you didn't finish saying the last of your news. "
" I am an animagus. " she said, amused when the boy almost lost his balance after hastily sitting down. " Not registered, of course. It wouldn't make sense otherwise. "
" You, my dear. " said the Slytherin, taking her face in his hands and looking at her in complete awe. " You are brilliant. I will never get tired of telling you. " Daisy blushed, looking away embarrassed as Theo chuckled at her reaction. " Do you want to show me? "
" I might get weird. When I'm in that shape animal instincts are hard to ignore. " she explained, getting up when the boy shrugged his shoulders carelessly.
" It's always you. " he replied, excitedly asking her if she was something he could cuddle.
" You could. " said Daisy, suppressing a smile. After the first time, it became easier for her and her brother to transform into their other forms, so it did not take long for them to become Nightshade. She sat on the floor and remained still, not wanting to frighten Theo. She knew she was intimidating in that form, so it would be up to him to make the first move. If she even glimpsed an ounce of fear she would return to human form.
" Magnificent. " he whispered, not knowing that her heightened senses would allow her to hear him. Or, probably, he was aware of it and wanted her to feel it so he could reassure her. Theo got up from the couch and joined her in the center of the room, kneeling in front of her figure.
Daisy closed her eyes at the overwhelming smell that permeated her nostrils, trying to restrain the urge to want to bask in it.
She should ask Harry if he felt the same way when he was around Cedric.
Offended that Theo was not yet petting her, she emitted a small growl as she gently placed one of her paws on his hand. The boy obeyed, but the paltry caresses at nightshade were not enough so she lay down on him, demanding real scratching.
" Merlin, you are needy. " he muttered, amused by the purring she was doing. " Even in this form you give me orders. "
" I never order you anything. " she replied, returning to her human form. When she realized she was practically on top of Theo, she blushed. She tried to stand up but he stopped her by encircling her waist with his arm.
" Never said I didn't like it. " replied the boy, stroking his jaw with his thumb. " It would be nice of you to allow me to take over from time to time. For example, I'd like you to stay in this position indefinitely. "
" Aren't you uncomfortable on the floor? " she asked, blushing.
" Never been better. " flirted Theo, causing her to snort in disbelief. " What are you going to do for Valentine's Day? "
" I don't know. I'd have to decide which of my lovers to go out with. " said Daisy, laughing when he bit her neck as a warning. " I'm not going to do anything. Did you have any ideas? "
" We could have dinner here. " he proposed, kissing her cheek. " Maybe ask the room to change into something more romantic. Something simple because you hate fancy things. "
" I'd like that. " she said softly, knowing that Harry would sneak Cedric into his dorm so they could be together without anyone interrupting them. " But no gifts. "
" Why? " Theo asked, confused. " I know I am everything you wanted but this way you inflate my ego. "
" Impossible. It's already at a disproportionate level. " replied the Hufflepuff, sticking her tongue out at him. " I don't want you to spend money on something so frivolous. It's enough for me to spend time with you. "
" You can have both. " He replied, affectionately. " Trust me when I tell you that nothing would make me happier than spending my father's money for you. "
" If you put it on that way. " snorted a laugh Daisy, admitting that it was hilarious. " We'll meet here next week and have a proper date. "
" Like we don't meet every night. " He said, poking her side and making her wriggle. " Will I have to dress up? "
" No. " She giggled at his horrified look as she ran her fingers through his hair and affectionately noticed the way his eyes closed at the contact. " But make yourself pretty for me. "
" I'm always stunning. " he retorted, falsely offended. " And I don't even make an effort. I'm naturally so handsome. "
" The most beautiful. " agreed the girl. " Now, are you going to tell me what you're worried about? For two days I've seen you staring at me as if you had something to tell me. "
" Do you think I could tell Blaise about us? " he asked, uncertain. " He would never betray me and it would be helpful to have someone to cover me during my absences. "
" Sure. " Daisy nodded. After all, Harry and Luna knew about it and it didn't seem fair to her to prevent Theo from having a friend on his side. " But I want to meet him. "
The girl burst out laughing as Theo scattered her face with kisses, thanking her repeatedly. Suddenly the boy stiffened and pulled one of his hands away from her face to squeeze her thigh. " Baby, you should stop moving like that. "
" Excuse me. " she blushed, realizing the problem her boyfriend was starting to have. A small part of her wanted to try to move a little more, just to see what the reaction would be but common sense got the better of her and she remained still.
" You have nothing to apologize for. " He reassured her, smiling sweetly while kissing her forehead. " Leaving aside the flirting, I don't think either of us is ready for more than a few kisses. "
" We have time for the rest. " She agreed, asking him if he wanted to stay there that night or go back to the dormitory. It happened from time to time that the teens would transfigure the couch into a bed and stay together, needing to spend more time together.
" I would like to but... Malfoy is becoming suspicious of my continued disappearances. I must be careful that no word reaches my father. " said Theo, displeased.
" Go on, then. I'll see you tomorrow. " replied Daisy, getting up and helping him to do the same. She wished him a good night with a kiss and pushed him toward the door while she took care of retrieving the books and notes she had brought with her that afternoon.
" Appointment on updating my musical taste? " he recalled, rolling his eyes. " Try not to bring too noisy stuff this time. "
" I'll do my best. " she promised, amused at the memory of the shocked face her boyfriend wore when she first made him listen to Metallica. He didn't hate them, of course, but he preferred other things.
