Merrow Visits and Surprises
"Aww, there is my favorite little Lionfish. Come, tell me what kind of Chaos have you been up to lately?" Alcandor said as he swept into the room with a healer and four guards at his heels. Harry smiled up at him from where he was sitting on the floor playing with Teddy and Zamira.
"Hello, Your Highness," Harry said cheerfully. "No Chaos for me. I have been perfectly Chaos free." Alcandor as well as a few others in the room snorted at him and he pretended to pout.
"So the reports I have gotten from my guards about you and yours pranking them and making their life miserable since they arrived are untrue?" Alcandor asked with a gleam in his eye. Harry just shrugged and then gave the two guards in question a devious smirk.
"Maybe they should learn to keep their rude, unwanted opinions to themselves and I wouldn't have declared open season on them," Harry snapped. Alcandor looked between the two guards and Harry before giving Harry all of his attention.
"And what exactly did they do to earn your ire?" Alcandor asked curiously. Harry turned back to the King as well.
"They were quite rude. Teddy, Mira, and I wanted to have a picnic lunch outside and spend a little time outside of the house. Your guards took it upon themselves to give orders that Mira was not allowed outside. I made sure that they learned very quickly that I don't take orders from them. Especially, when they are completely unreasonable," Harry informed Alcandor.
"I will have to give more specific instructions the next time I send guards," Alcandor stated with a grin. Harry just glared at him.
"If you have a need to send more guards, Alec and myself will meet them first and make sure they are not as big of arrogant jerks as those two are," Harry countered. Mira, the Healer, and the guards all tensed at the way that Harry had spoken to the King. The two of them just glared at each other for a moment before Alcandor started chuckling. Man, he had missed the feisty little Submissive. He would have to insist that Alec bring him to visit sometime. Maybe he could convince him to bond with another Merrow or two. Harry smiled and rolled his eyes at the laughing King.
"Now, let us get down to the reason we are here," Alcandor said after he finally stopped laughing. Harry reached out and took Mira's hand when she stiffened up. Alcandor watched them both. He could smell that Alec had been right about the girl. She wasn't a Submissive any longer. But she was still going to be tended to as if she were one. She was one of the Lost Children and they would need to determine her family so that she could be returned to them.
"No one will touch her unless she has given permission. She has suffered enough and I have told her that this is a safe space for her. None of you will make a liar out of me. Respect her boundaries or you will be asked to leave," Harry said in a tone of voice that left no room for argument. He meant business and he wanted to make sure that they knew it. Alcandor just smirked at him while the others with him bristled at the way Harry was speaking to their King. Alcandor just waved them off.
"I am not heartless, Lionfish. I understand trauma, no one will touch her without her complete consent," Alcandor stated. He may enjoy bantering with the feisty Submissive his cousin had bonded with but he wasn't cruel. He turned kind eyes to the Merrow that had scooted closer to Harry as soon as she had been brought into the conversation. It looked as if she had barely restrained herself from crawling into his lap. As it was, she was as close as she could be and was clinging to Harry with one arm while the other was firmly wrapped around the toddler she had been playing with.
The Merrow King figured that his cousin was correct in his assumption that Harry wouldn't allow him to take the Merrow without putting up one hell of a fight. She didn't look like she was going to be leaving Harry and his circle. Harry squeezed her hand and stood up from the floor. He reached down for the toddler and passed him to Alec who handed him to another Dragel that Alcandor had not seen before. Harry then reached down and pulled Mira to her feet. Alcandor waved the Healer forward.
"You will not touch her unless you ask and you are only to ask if it is completely necessary. Do you understand?" Harry spoke to the Healer. He wanted to make sure there were no misunderstandings. The healer looked ready to snap at Harry but was stopped by a simple hand on his shoulder from the King. Instead, he inclined his head slightly.
"I understand, Submissive," The healer said instead. Harry nodded and turned back to Mira.
"Mira, I have to step away from you. Remember when my Quinn did his diagnostics?" Harry asked her. She looked uncertain but Harry held her gaze. "I promise no harm will come to you. You are safe here with me, Mira." Finally, she nodded and let go of Harry's hand. Harry stepped back enough so that he knew he would not interfere with the results. Mira never broke eye contact with him and he smiled and held her gaze the entire time. If she needed him to focus on then he would be there for her. Alcandor watched the two of them and snorted. Alec was definitely right. The Merrow would be staying with Harry. That didn't mean he couldn't rile him up first before giving in.
The healer finished his spell and glowered at the parchment that appeared. He looked it over and then cast another diagnostic. After he read those results he nodded to Alec who leaned down and told Harry that he could go back to Mira now if he wanted. The Healer was finished casting spells. Harry stepped back up to Mira and wrapped his arms around her. She literally melted into his arms and let out a breath she had obviously been holding.
"You did so good, Mira," Harry whispered to her as they watched the Healer, Quinn, and Alcandor talk heatedly together.
"I don't want to go with them, Harry. Please, let me continue to stay with you," She begged him quietly. She didn't like the way the Merrow Healer and the King were talking back and forth and looking at her. Harry tightened his arms around her.
"I promise that I will not allow them to take you away from me. If you want to remain with me then you will," Harry swore. Mira nodded, turned, and placed a barely there kiss on his cheek. Harry smiled gently at her. Finally, the three others broke apart and Harry could tell that Quinn was not happy at all. Harry narrowed his eyes at Alcandor and the Merrow Healer. He obviously wasn't going to like what they had to say. He hardened his eyes and gently moved Mira so she was standing behind him.
"She cannot remain above the water anymore. She will return to Merrow Waters where she can be looked after properly. This is what is best for her health. She has spent too much time out of water," Alcandor stated firmly. Harry simply shook his head.
"No," He said just as firmly. He would not give on this. "Quinn has already told us that she needs to spend more time in the water. A room here has been enchanted for her and her health has already improved since she was brought here. Between Alec and Quinn, we have already started her on a treatment plan that is best for her and it does not require her to return to Merrow Waters."
"She is not one of yours. Not like Alec. You have no say in her care and can not stop me from taking her," Alcandor stated coldly. Harry simply shrugged.
"She is mine all the same. She asked for sanctuary and I have given it. She is mine to protect and care for until she decides otherwise. If she chooses to leave tomorrow then I will let her. If she chooses to make her permanent home with me then I will let her. I will fight you in court in front of the other Royals if you decide to go that route, King Alcandor. You will lose," Harry said with absolute confidence. He could feel Mira clinging to his shirt from behind him. Alcandor smirked and his guards stood at attention. Harry smirked, he knew exactly why they were suddenly tense. Harry's bonded and parents were now standing around the room. They were making it known that Alcandor and his guard would not have an easy time of forcing the Merrow to leave with him. Instead of becoming angry or defensive he just laughed again.
"Don't worry, Little Lionfish. I was merely testing your true resolve to protect her. I see that you are very much able and willing to keep her safe. She will remain with you but I insist on weekly visits from a Merrow Healer to monitor her progress. I would also suggest a mind healer if she is amendable," Alcandor said. Immediately, Harry and his men relaxed and took their seats once again. Harry took a seat on the couch that was left open for him and wasn't surprised with Mira took a seat on the floor pressed against his legs. It was where she would sit so that Harry could sit close with his bonded.
"Alec and Quinn will get a say in who the Healer is. I don't want to be forced to put up with someone on a regular basis who will clash with me and my circle," Harry pointed out. Alcandor simply nodded. He would indulge him. Alcandor tended to get bored and messing with Alec's Submissive would quickly become his favorite thing to do. He was as fierce as any Merrow and Alcandor thought he was interesting....for a landwalker.
"I see no reason to deny you that. I would not want someone in my home on a regular basis that I could not stand. I will also make sure that I only put forward Medics or Healers who are experienced with those who have been exposed to trauma," Alcandor said seriously. Harry nodded thankfully.
"Thank you, Your Highness," Harry said respectfully. Alcandor smirked at him.
"I think I would prefer you call me Alcandor, Lionfish. At least when we are not in court or in any other official capacity," Alcandor told him. Harry just grinned widely.
"Alcandor, then," Harry said happily. "I know that you were around and met my bonded back on Earth, but you have not met my fathers." Harry indicated Sirius and James who were happily playing with Teddy. "This is my Sire James. He was rescued at the same time Mira was. He was held captive since I was fifteen months old. The other is my Third Sirius. He fell through a Death Veil on Earth when I was fifteen and I thought he was dead. Turns out he was taken into Death's court and became a Hellhound. This is a temporary home for us. It belongs to my Grandmother and her circle."
"So not an unfortunate orphan after all?" Alcandor said with a smirk. Harry shook his head no with a smile.
"Nope," Harry popped the 'p'. "I went from having no parents to having two fathers, an entire circle of grandparents, and a new Great Uncle and his circle. More family than I could have ever imagined." Alcandor couldn't help but give a genuine smile to the clearly happy Submissive. He may be quick to defend those he considers his, but he was also soft and sweet as well. Alec could not have gotten luckier in his soul-bonded Submissive.
They talked for a bit longer before Alcandor finally stood and said his goodbyes. Mira looked up at Harry and he pushed her hair out of her face. She looked exhausted.
"I think I want to take a nap, Harry. Is that ok?" Mira asked in a small voice. Harry just smiled at her. He didn't bother correcting the fact that she had asked. They had already talked about it a few times.
"You are welcome to nap, Mira. Do you want me to come with you?" Harry asked her. She shook her head.
"It is time for Teddy's nap. I will take him up with me and the two of us can just rest," Mira offered.
"That sounds fine, Mira," Harry said. Orion spoke up from beside them.
"We have a surprise for Harry, Mira. So we are leaving the house. I do not know exactly when we will be back but it will for sure be before dinner. I am letting you know so that you can either go ahead and take your nap or you can come with us. You are absolutely welcome to come," Orion told her. Mira smiled up at the Alpha. She was beginning to learn that Harry's circle was just as kind and caring as he was. She was not ready to allow any of them to touch her apart from Harry and Teddy but she didn't think it would take her too long to learn to trust them.
"Thank you for inviting me along, Alpha. I would prefer to stay here either way. I am still tired out pretty quickly," Mira replied barely above a whisper. Orion nodded and gave her a small smile.
"We will keep an eye on the two of them while you are gone," Juniper said from the doorway into the sitting room. She and her circle had stayed out of the sitting room while the Merrow King had been visiting. Harry smiled at her gratefully. Mira had nightmares sometimes when she slept. Harry understood nightmares. He liked that someone would be keeping an eye on them while he and his circle were gone. He didn't know what his circle was up to but he liked the idea of a surprise from them.
"Thank you, Grandmera," Harry said with a smile and then kissed Mira and Teddy on their cheeks before they headed up to their resting room. One of Jun's Pareya followed them up. Harry was pretty sure she would be sitting outside of the room the entire time Teddy and Mira napped. Once they were gone he turned excited eyes to Orion and the rest of his circle.
"Now what is this about a surprise?" Harry beamed at them. He made grabby hands at his Alpha and chirped happily when Orion picked him up. He wrapped arms and legs around him and submitted when he kissed him until he couldn't breathe. There hadn't been a lot of moments when Harry hadn't been providing emotional support for Mira. This would be the longest he had been away from her since they rescued her.
"You are going to love it," Fred and George said happily.
"Let's go," Draco added. Orion carried Harry out of the house and across the ward lines. Then he handed the Submissive to their Shadow Ace for the portal. Harry received another all-consuming kiss. He enjoyed having Mira around but he missed his bonded being able to approach and touch him like this.
"Ferme les yeux, mon amour," Hadrian breathed into his ear. Harry shivered and did as he was told. He closed his eyes and smiled when he felt a gentle kiss pressed to his neck just below his ear. Then he felt the shadows incase them and knew they had been pulled away by the portal.
"Can I open them now?" Harry asked when he knew they were out of the portal. Hadrian shook his head. So Harry kept them closed tightly. Hadrian patted his leg so he released them and was eased to the ground he was then turned around. There was shuffling and then he felt a body press into his from behind as well as someone slips their hand into his. He smiled. Draco was the one holding his hand. He would know those long slender fingers anywhere.
"Ouvre tes yeux," Orion whispered into his ear. Harry took a deep breath and opened his eyes.
He gasped and looked up at the very large mansion in front of him. It was bigger than the Evanson's home. It looked vaguely familiar but Harry couldn't figure out why so he let it go. It was a beautiful home situated on what seemed like a very large plot of land that was bordered on one side by water. Draco was bouncing next to him apparently impatient with Harry's lack of response.
"So?" Draco said finally. Harry turned to him and smiled. "What do you think? We have all been working on it off and on since about two weeks after we got here. This is Black Manor. Hadrian brought it from Earth and had a crew here make alterations so that it suited our family."
"This is amazing. I love it. Is it ready?" Harry asked finally. Draco nodded and Harry felt Orion pull his arms away from around him. As soon as he let go, Draco began pulling him toward the house. Harry laughed happily and allowed Draco to pull him into the house. They were quickly joined by Fred and George as well as a few others. The house was just as magnificent on the inside as it was on the outside. It was beautifully and tastefully decorated. There were offices on every floor and a lot of bedrooms. The resting room was huge. There were at least two rooms that were made to cater to Merrow.
The house was already furnished and fully stocked with food and everything they would need to move in right away. Once Draco and the others were finished showing him the inside, Hadrian, Rathal, and Orion took him outside to show him the grounds. There was a massive training area for the Gheyo. Harry was going to love training there. Then he was led to a large area that was warded so that he couldn't see inside. He wondered what could be in there that they weren't showing him. What could be better than their home?
Charlie and Alec stepped forward grinning. Charlie pulled down the ward and Harry gasped once again. Standing in front of him was the dragon that he had insisted they save from Gringotts. She looked so healthy and beautiful. She leaned down and sniffed Harry who stayed still and giggled when the dragon butted her head against him. He reached up and began to pet her.
'Hello, Speaker' She said and rumbled happily at his scratches.
*Hello, Pretty Girl* Harry responded. *You look so much better than you did before.*
The Dragon rumbled and then lifted her head to sniff the air. So she was still blind.
' You kept your word, Speaker. But you did more than just save me, you saved my little ones as well,' The Dragon moved to the side and uncurled her tail. She revealed a large nest with five eggs in it. One looked a little different from the others but Harry didn't know enough about dragons to be worried about it.
*I am glad that we were able to set you and your little ones free,* Harry replied. The Dragon bumped him with her head again but this time she pushed him toward her eggs. He was a little worried but was doing his best not to show it. The last time he had been this close to a mother dragon and her eggs he almost died.
' The one that is different. Take it. It is not a dragon egg I only laid four. Those horrid little mongrels slipped that little beast in with my hatchlings,' The dragon didn't sound upset or angry. She actually sounded a bit amused. She had spat 'mongrels' with hatred but said 'little beast' with a little fondness.
*It isn't a Dragon?* Harry asked curiously. He wondered what it was then. He turned to Charlie.
"She says that egg there isn't a dragon egg. She said she only laid four eggs and that the goblins must have slipped the 'little beast' in her nest when they gave it to us. What do you think it is if it isn't a Dragon?" Harry asked his Dragon Tamer. Charlie scratched the Dragon as he made his way to Harry and the nest.
"I honestly don't know," Charlie said after a few minutes.
"I think I have an idea," Ethan spoke up. Harry and Charlie turned toward him. "Nytura. They are known to turn up in Dragon nests. Most mothers push the Nytura eggs out of the nest. I am surprised that she didn't."
' I am a mother. This is not my first clutch of eggs. I would not abandon the Little Beast to starve. You can take care of it now. Keep it to watch over your hatchlings when you have them,' The Dragon told him.
*Does it require anything special to care for it?* Harry asked. The Dragon gave what Harry assumed was a chuckle.
' It will hatch long before my eggs do. If you keep it somewhere warm it will be fine, ' She told him. Harry nodded and then nodded for Charlie to take the egg.
"She says just keep it warm and that it will hatch long before her Hatchlings do. She also said that she is a mother and that this isn't her first clutch. She says she would not abandon the Little Beast," Harry told them. "Is she going to stay here?"
"Yes, we have been working with her and have set this space up for her and her young. She can come and go as she pleases and she does but she always returns. We have been feeding her and doing what we can to get her healthy. Unfortunately, we can not do anything for her sight," Alec spoke up. He had surprisingly enjoyed working with the Fire Rheyo to help the Dragon. Not that he would tell anyone that....ever. He wished he could talk to her the way that Harry could.
Charlie and Alec took the Nytura egg into the house. Harry assumed they were going to set up an area for it to stay warm until it hatched. He couldn't wait to see what kind of creature it was. He had never even heard of a Nytura.
Harry walked around the outside for a little bit longer with Ethan and Ariki. They let him take his time exploring their new home. He looked so happy that no one minded him taking the extra time to roam. He walked around by the water and knew that Alec, Mira, and Brishen would love it. He was going to miss staying with his grandparents but he was so excited to have their own place. He was a little torn about what he wanted in regard to his dads. He wanted them to stay with him so that he could continue getting to know them but he also really wanted the time alone with his Circle. He hadn't really been alone with his circle at all since his soulscream.
"When do we get to move in officially?" Harry asked Ariki. The Beta wrapped an arm around him and kissed him on the head.
"Right now if that is what you want. This is our home and we put a lot of effort into making sure that it was ready for you as soon as we showed it to you. We can go get Teddy and Mira and have our first family dinner in our home tonight," Ariki assured him. Harry beamed up at him and smiled happily when Ethan grasped his hand. They stood there for a few minutes and just looked out over the water. It was so pretty here.
"I want to go get Mira and Teddy. I want to stay in our home starting now. You all put so much effort into this for our family," Harry told them finally. Ethan nodded. He kissed Harry on the cheek before heading into the house. He was going to let the others know that they were going to stay. They would need to get dinner ready. Ariki wrapped his arms around Harry who nuzzled into his happily.
They stayed like that until Hadrian came striding out of the house.
"We decided it was best if I accompanied the two of you to the house to get Mira and Teddy," Hadrian told them both. Harry nodded and kissed Ariki before going into Hadrian's arms. The three of them ported to the Evanson home.
"So, I take it since it is just the three of you you have decided to stay in your home," Jun said with a smile. Sirius and James were standing to the side grinning at them. Harry hugged Jun and nodded.
"Yes, but that doesn't mean that I am going to stay away from here either. I love all of you and am so happy that you all took us into your home when you didn't have to," Harry told them. He was a bit teary at this point. Jun wiped his eyes and looked at him.
"Our home is always open to you, Harry. You are ours and we love you so much. I am happy that you are moving into your own home with your circle but I am also very sad not to have you under my roof anymore," Jun told him with a smile. She kissed his head and let him hug the rest of her circle. Then they stood aside with Mira and Teddy while Harry went to his dads.
"Are you two coming with us?" Harry asked them. He was wringing his hands together. Sirius pulled him into a hug and kissed his head. He felt James carding his fingers through his hair.
"Oh, Pup, we are going to move in with you. We know you want us close for a while and we want to be close to you as well," Sirius told him. Harry smiled up at the two of them for a moment before he realized that there was a 'but' coming.
"But?" Harry asked. Sirius smiled at him and James nudged him.
"But, we are not going to move in just yet. We are going to stay here with Jun for about a month or two. We want to give you time alone to settle in with your circle. You all need it so that you can strengthen your bonds with each other," James answered him. Harry smiled at them.
"Thank you. I agree that we need this. But I want you to visit often. Just because I want to settle in with my circle doesn't mean that I don't want to see both of you as often as I can. I just got both of you back I don't want to be away from you for too long so soon," Harry replied. They both pulled him back into their arms.
"Of course, we are going to see you all often. The most fun things always happen around you," Sirius teased. Harry kissed both of them on the cheek before moving over to his bonded. Teddy was handed to Ariki and once again Mira and Harry were wrapped in Hadrian's arms for the portal. When they arrived back at the house they were greeted by Kreacher and Lolly. Harry had wondered where the little elves had gotten off to.
"Master Harry, welcome home. Kreacher and Lolly has been helping to get home ready for circle," Kreacher told him when he asked.
"You both have done a wonderful job. The house looks amazing," Harry praised them. Then he showed Mira to one of the Merrow rooms near the resting room and even pointed out the water out back of the house.
"Your home is beautiful, Harry," Mira told him. "So much open space." Harry smiled at her and took her hand in his.
"This is your home, too. For as long as you want to be here, Mira," Harry told her seriously. She looked up at him and blushed.
"What if I want to stay forever?" Mira asked him. Harry squeezed her hand and then pressed a kiss to her cheek.
"Is that what you want, Mira? To stay with us forever?" Harry asked her. She looked out the window for a few minutes and Harry let her take her time. Finally, she turned back to him.
"Yes. I know it has barely been a few days but I feel like everything in me knows that I am supposed to be with you. With your circle. I am still afraid to be touched but I know in my very soul that none of your bonded would ever hurt me. That they would, in fact, fight to protect me. I am already in love with Teddy and very attached to you as well. I don't see myself ever wanting to be away from you," Mira admitted to him. Harry wrapped his arms around her and held her close.
"I want you to stay with us as well, Mira. I feel the same way, you are supposed to be mine. But I want you to be sure. I want you here and you are welcome to be here for as long as you choose. Take some time to heal and truly think about it. Maybe see a mind healer to help you recover from over a decade in captivity. If after some time you still feel the same, you still want to stay with me, then we will officially bond. We can discuss what capacity you would come into my circle," Harry told her. He felt the tension in her ease completely.
"You want me?" Mira asked in a small voice. Harry knew how that felt. To feel like you are so damaged that no one could possibly ever want you. He lifted her chin up gently and made sure that she was paying attention to him.
"You are not broken or damaged. You are worthy and wanted. Your trauma does not define you. Do you understand?" Harry asked her. She had tears streaming down her face as she smiled up at him.
"I understand," She said quietly. Harry then pulled her back into his arms.
"We are going to help you heal, Zamira. We are going to make sure that you have everything that you need to make a full recovery. You will be healthy and whole. And when you are and feel like you can make a true decision of sound mind. Then we will sit down together and discuss you bonding into my circle. Have no doubt that I am waiting for you. That I will be patient and allow you the time that you need. You will not rush your recovery. We will all be here with you through the entire process. You are not alone," Harry insisted. Mira snuggled closer.
"I want to get healthy. I will follow whatever the healers decide I need to do. I will see a mind healer. I want to be the best version of myself so that I will add something to your circle when I bond into it. Not 'if', Harry. When," Mira said with conviction. Harry smiled and chirred happily when she tilted her head up just a fraction and gently touched her lips to his.
A barely there, ghost of a kiss before she pulled back and told him she was going to see if she could help with dinner or Teddy. Harry let her go and went in search of someone that wasn't busy. The first person he came across was Magnus. He grinned and launched himself into the Werewolf's arms.
"What do you say we are the first to break in the new house?" Harry purred at him. Magnus smirked and ducked into the first empty room they came across. Yeah, living alone with his circle was going to be quite nice.
