Leo was seated on his hotel bed that was by the window. He was playing one of those iMessage games with his dad while he buried his long legs in the soft and fluffed white comforter that almost all hotels had. He knew there was a storm coming, he could smell it in the air. Sure enough, a few minutes later there was a flash of lightening and then thunder rumbled it’s way through. Leo’s head turned fast when he saw Logan sit up abruptly in bed and then quickly scrambling around his bed and his duffel bag for his headphones. Leo got up and made his way over to him. He put a hand on Logan’s. “Hey, go sit. I’ll find them for you.”

Logan looked back at him, his green eyes starting to fill with some tears. “Thanks,” he said in a soft voice.

Leo rummaged through a bit more then found the red beats case. He opened them then sat on the edge of the bed and handed them to Logan. Logan grabbed them eagerly and threw them on.

Leo watched him settle and then get to his bed and pick up the room phone. He knew Logan didn’t like storms but this was the first time on a roadie that he saw Logan shut down completely. He ordered two sundaes and a cup of peppermint tea. The storm fully settled over them, rain drops coated the window and the thunder felt like it was right next door. Leo saw his shoulders stiffen each time thunder rolled through and felt a relief when the next time there was a loud sound it was room service. Leo got up eagerly and grabbed the sundaes and the cup of tea in his hand and walked back over to Logan’s bed.

He tapped his shoulder and then showed him the sundaes and the cup of tea. A small smile crossed his face, one that still made a little flutter happen in Leo’s heart. “Thank you,” he mumbled.

Logan took off his headphones and set them on the bed. He took the sundae in his hand and then scooped up a big spoonful of whipped cream.

Leo watched the tension in his shoulders release as he ate the ice cream. “If you don’t mind me asking, why don’t you like storms? It makes sense that they’re loud but…any particular reason?”

Logan swallowed what he had in his mouth and twirled the spoon around. “I was young, four maybe? I don’t know. But there was a big storm and my maman said I could sleep through everything. But this storm was bad and there was a lightening strike and then the tree in our front yard was in my room through my ceiling. I couldn’t sleep by myself for months.” Logan explained.

Leo knew how bad storms could get and knew for sure that had to have been terrifying. He put an arm around Logan. “Well fuck, yeah that would scar me for life too.”

Logan couldn’t help but laugh a little at the comment. “That’s when I got into peppermint tea. Maman said it helped me sleep once I started sleeping on my own again.”

There was another loud bang of thunder and Logan tensed a bit. He gently set down his empty sundae glass and picked up the cup of tea and took a small sip. Leo mindlessly ram his thumb over his shoulder as he tried to get him to relax.

Leo pulled his phone up and opened the weather app. The storm was only expected to get worse as the night went on. Logan looked over and chewed his lip.

“Um, I…” Logan shook his head. “Never mind.”

Leo furrowed his brows a bit at the hesitation. “What’s up Tremz?”

“I was going to ask if you could sleep in the bed with me like my sisters used to but that’s weird isn’t it,” logan asked.

Leo shook his head no. “No I don’t mind. I mean whenever I had sleepovers we all slept in the same bed.”

Logan nodded. “You don’t have to, just.. I don’t know.”

Leo scooted up the bed and flopped his blonde curls on the pillow under his head. He saw Logan give him a smile and he laid down too after he shut the light off.

After a few minutes, Leo saw Logan’s shoulders relax as his breathing did. He was asleep and Leo couldn’t help but watch him to keep making sure he was fine. He felt his phone vibrate on the mattress so he picked it up and unlocked it.

From Harzy: “Is Lo okay?”

Leo smiled a bit. Their friendship was confusing sometimes but this was what he expected from Finn, who just always knew.

Leo started to type out a message. “Out like a light.”

His phone vibrated again. From Harzy: “I sent a peppermint tea just in case.”

Leo grinned at his phone. “Thanks Harzy.”

Luckily the knock on the door wasn’t too loud and Leo snagged it before Logan could wake up. He gently set the tea on the nightstand by Logan and then nestled back in the bed.
