I know you've always been there
Sirius held a funeral for Regulus a week after everyone found out.
Everyone was situated around Grimmauld place after the ceremony, whispering to each other.
Regulus slunk into room after room looking at everyone's mournful faces. He recognized some of the people here and he was even more shocked when he noticed that his friends had shown up. Evan, Barty, and Pandora were sitting in a corner of the library quietly.
They must have gotten time off school Regulus thought
Dorcas entered the room then and Regulus hid behind a bookshelf to eavesdrop.
"Hey guys," Dorcas sat down beside Barty. A chorus of hellos ensued.
"So... Do any of you believe this?" She asked.
"No!" Pandora agreed before she covered her mouth at how loud she was being.
"I mean he can't actually be dead can he?" Barty asked
"He's Regulus," Evan stated matter of factly, "So no, I don't believe it. I mean they don't even have a body."
They fell silent for a moment before Pandora lit up.
"Did any of you see that black cat James had on his lap?" She asked.
Everyone looked at her confused as she huffed in exasperation.
"How do none of you remember it?"
"Maybe we're just not as observant as you," Evan nudged his sister in the arm, "You said it was a black cat right?"
Pandora nodded as everyone's eyes went wide.
"Wait here," Dorcas said as she got up and went into another room.
She returned a short while later smiling ear to ear.
"What is it?" Barty asked.
"James and Lily found the cat 2 days after Regulus went missing, and we all know his little secret don't we?" Dorcas chuckled.
"Holy shit." Evan laughed.
"But guys," Pandora stopped them, "We can't tell anyone. What if Regulus is planning something, he never does anything without a plan."
That got them all thinking.
"Fine, we won't tell anyone," Dorcas whispered after a long silence, "But I'm keeping a close eye on that cat, does everyone agree?"
They all nodded as Regulus crept away upstairs.
How can I be that bad at hiding? He wondered I didn't even show them this time!
