Nowhere else to go
Another month went by since Regulus had that conversation with Remus and he felt like nothing had changed.
He had gotten used to the routine by now. Sleep, eat, cuddle, and play with Harry that was it.
He even got featured on the Radio!
Well, it was because he got reported as a missing person... But still!
Nothing really happened apart from James and Lily occasionally going out to look for him and Remus and Sirius coming over.
One time Sirius came in his dog form -which Regulus didn't know about- and he scared the life out of him. Everyone just laughed as he hid in James' arms for the rest of the night.
The only weird thing was Remus, he would always look at him knowingly and every time they were alone he gave Regulus reports on the outside world. Regulus did have to hear a 30-minute lecture once though, but that was only because Remus had time to think about how stupid he was for hiding.
It was quite easy.
Or so he thought.

Regulus was just walking into the kitchen when the radio stopped playing music.
James and Lily looked at each other for a moment before Lily turned up the volume.
"Good Afternoon everyone we have some breaking news." The reporter announced, his voice crackling with the old radio, "Regulus Black, youngest son of Walburga and Orion Black has been reported dead after an intensive search. We don't know much at the moment but it is said that the young master went missing a few months ago. This is truly tragic folks... Anyway back to-"
James turned off the radio as Lily gasped and covered her mouth.
"They can't give up now," She wept as tears fell down her face, "He's still alive! He has to be!"
James walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I know Lily, It's unfair..." He whispered his voice breaking halfway, "But we knew this would happen. He wasn't coming back."
Lily's cries became louder as she sobbed into James' shoulder.
Well... This is weird Regulus thought they couldn't seriously be that affected by me. Can they?
Regulus walked up to Lily's legs before meowing and sitting beside it.
Lily looked down.
"Hi sweetie," She whispered before she had a realization, "James! Sirius will be devastated!"
What? Ha no he won't Regulus thought
James looked at Lily before kissing her on the forehead, "You're right. Let's go."
Lily nodded while wiping her eyes, she took a deep breath and walked upstairs to get Harry while James grabbed his shoes.
Regulus followed James and meowed at him.
James looked at him before he caved, "You can come to buddy."
Good. I'm going to see if Sirius is really 'devastated' about me. Imagine if he was, that'd be funny Regulus laughed internally
He jumped up onto James' shoulder and perched there.
Lily came down with Harry, she took one look at Regulus before she sighed and walked out the door, "Come on James, I'm worried about him."
