I`m headed straight for the floor (literally)
It was cold, Regulus had never felt anything like this, it felt like the cold would never end. Claws grabbed and scratched him dragging Regulus further, digging into his skin and making it bleed.
He tried to breathe, but water filled his lungs making it impossible to complete his task, this is the end he thought, regulus let himself be taken into the darkness.
Did I complete it? Did I get what I came for? He wondered. Did I even try?
James… would he be proud of me? Regulus wondered. Would he hate me? He let himself be taken further.
No, he wouldn’t, he loved me. Regulus concluded.
It was all dark.
.
.
.
.
Until it wasn’t.
Light ripped through the darkness and the claws retreated. A small, shriveled hand shot through the water and grabbed Regulus`s arm dragging him up and out of the lake.
Regulus coughed and spat out the water in his mouth. He looked up at his savior, it was Kreacher. Kreacher the house elf of the noble and most old house of black. Kreacher, Regulus`s house elf.
He was creating light with his hands, scaring away the creatures with claws and holding a locket, the last Horcrux Regulus needed. His body was littered with scratches similar to Regulus`s own.
Kreacher looked down at Regulus and yelled over the sounds of monstrous cries and screams. “Master Regulus I am sorry for going against your orders. I have come back for you; please take the locket you came for and leave.”
Regulus realized what he was doing. “No Kreacher!” He yelled, “I can`t leave you, this was my mission!”
Kreacher looked down at Regulus and gave him the locket. “Master Regulus, thank you for letting me serve you. You have been most kind to me.”
“No Kreacher!” Regulus cried but it was too late, Kreacher smiled at him one last time before snapping his fingers. Regulus shot away and landed on his bedroom floor, cold, soaked, and without his last friend.
