Neville and Theodore
Neville X Theodore
Theo was a smart child. Even if his mother died when he was young he was raised by his father. Being in Slytherin and a pure blood meant he was in the same group as Draco, Blaise and Pansy. All of their parents were death eaters and loyal to Lord Voldemort. Now this didn't mean Theo are was going to go down the same road. Draco was the boy who had no choice not Theo. Now Theo was a smoker (because fancast) and while he passed all his classes he didn't care much for authority. Always hanging around his little group theo never really felt alone but there was a feeling gnawing on his insides. Why did he still feel like something was missing? As he looked over the great hall his eyes landed on a brown haired boy, laughing with the Golden Trio.
Neville was a sweet child. He grew up with his grandmother. He loved her dearly but she constantly belittled him. Neville was shy and clumsy because of all the years of belittlement from his grandmother, but was yet sorted into Gryffindor. He was close to the golden trio and helped them many times. Neville wished he could be brave like Harry or smart like Hermoine or carefree like Ron but he wasn't. Neville decided that he wanted to grow up to be just like his parents one day, but was afraid he would simply be a disappointment due to his grandmother previously claiming that he had a lot to live up to. If only he had a little confidence. Maybe someone could teach him. He eyes went to the Slytherin table.
A little later in the hallway, Theo was lighting a cigarette when Neville came up to him. Theo raised an eyebrow at Neville approaching him. "Longbottom. Did we snakes do something offend you," Theo said after he took a drag and blew the smoke out. "I...uhhhh, I was.......I need,"Neville suttered. "I don't have all day Longbottom,"Theo said. "I need your help becoming confident," Neville said. Theo let out a laugh as he threw his head back. "Why do you want to become confident," He said. "I'm a Gryffindor and I feel like a Hufflepuff. I'm supposed to be brave and to be brave I need to be confident,"Neville said looking rather cute in Theo's eyes, almost like a child throwing a tantrum.
"You want my help,"Theo said. He took another long drag as we waited for answer. "Yes,"Neville nodded. "Fine but it's gonna be easy. You're way too good,"Theo said throwing cigarette on the ground and stomped on it to put it out. Neville cringed at the smell. Theo laughed once again. "Can't even the handle the smell of a cigarette? Ohh this is gonna be a lot of fun. "Follow me,"Theo said and Neville followed the taller male. "We're not snakes,"Theo said. "I know, but not much the 4 of us can do,"Neville said. "4,"Theo questioned. "Yeah, Harry, Hermoine, Ron and me,"Neville said with a smile. Theo smirked. 'Cute,'he thought to himself. "Look to be confident you need to push your fear down," Theo said. "Like how Professor Remus taught us,"Neville asked. "No that was stupid. Draco said so,"Theo said. "He had a broken arm and was turned into a ferret. I don't think he much room to talk,"Neville mumbled. "There it is,"Theo said. "That snarkiness. Just say that to Draco's face,"Theo explained.
"I can't do that he would kill me," Neville explained. "You wanna learn confidence or not,"Theo said. "I said confidence not this,"Neville said. Theo rolled his eyes. "Maybe you get lesson from someone on your own house,"Theo said. "No, they all think I already have it and I'm holding it back,"He said. "Maybe you are,"Theo said and looked over at the Gryffindor. "I think I would know if I was holding back,"Neville said. "Really tell me something, that you don't like me," Theo said. "You smoke too much to deal with your crippling self-doubt,"Neville said. Theo was stunned. Neville was right. "How do you do that,"Theo asked. "I use the taunts my grandmother uses on me,"Neville says as he shrugs. "Its very simple half the time,"Neville said. "I wish you showed this side of you more often,"Theo said. Neville smiled. 'Maybe Theo isn't as bad as all of them say he is. Maybe all he needs is a friend. Maybe I can be that friend.'Neville thought. "How about this? You help me be confidant and I help you stop smoking," Neville taking the the packet of cigarettes. "Hey I bought those,"Theo said. "Don't worry. Harry thought me a spell to make harmful stuff like these into money,"Neville said and waved his wand and mumbled a spell and the packet turned to coins. "See,"Neville said. "You know I'll just buy more,"Theo said. Neville shrugged and Theo the coins. "Have fun Nott," he said and walked away.
"See you around Longbottom,"Theo said and smiled at the coins. When he made his way to the Slytherin dorms many of his housemates asked him why he was smiling. He just answered with a shoulder shrug. Neville had effected him for the better. Draco, Pansy, and Blaise knew Theo had been effected by a Gryffindor. All of them had been there. Darco and Harry finally got over their differences and became close. Pansy and Hermoine found their joint love for learning. Blaise and Ron found they both love wizard chess and were often playing matches to try and beat each other. Now Theo had to teach a shy Gryffindor how to speak his mind. He was gonna have his work cut out for him. "So Theo does a member of the red and gold have your attention,"Pansy said. "Maybe what is it to you,"Theo said. "We three all have our very own lions. I have Hermoine, Draco has Harry and Blaise had Ron,"The black haired girl said. "Didn't you go to the Yule Ball with Draco,"Theo asked. "Our parents pushed it, Don't question it,"Pansy said.
"He wants to learn how to be confident,"Theo said,"He has the bite. He called Malfoy a ferret,"Theo said. "One time. I was turned into a ferret one time,"Darco said and fumed in his seat. "And yet your father never heard about it,"Blaise said looking over the top of his book before going back to reading it. "That's just a thing Draco is expected to say,"Pansy said. "Hey. Theo who is it as far as I know all those blocks are brave," Draco asked. "Neville,"Theo answered. "Longbottom? He needs your help. I just thought he had bad luck,"Blaise said. "Apparently his grandmother belittles him and makes him feel like he can't be like his parents who were cursed by Death Eaters,"Theo and the 4 looked down knowing it could have one of their parents. They if the day they had to choose friends or family came the choice would be impossible.
A few weeks later, Theo Nott sat in an armchair, his mind wandering as he stared into the crackling fire before him. The events of the past weeks had left him pondering over his own existence, his purpose in life, and the relationships that surrounded him. As the days turned into weeks, their unlikely friendship blossomed. Theo found himself opening up to Neville in ways he never had with his Slytherin companions, while Neville gained confidence in speaking his mind and standing up for himself.Through their shared experiences, Theo and Neville bridged the gap between their houses, challenging stereotypes and forging a bond that transcended the boundaries of Hogwarts. As they navigated the complexities of friendship, loyalty, and self-discovery, they learned that true courage came not from bravado, but from the willingness to face their fears and grow. As time time passed Theo began to shed his armor of indifference and reveal the depths of his compassion.
Neville was sitting on his bed wondering the same thing. He had gotten so much more confidence and even stood up against his grandmother's howlers with one of his own. He was no longer shy little longbottom. He now stood up tall and some girls even began to notice him. Harry, Hermoine and Ron who never treated him any different but now seemed to give more a sense of belonging he never had before. All his made him think all the fun he had with Theo. he felt so much at home with him. Neville, discovered a newfound sense of bravery and resilience that had always resided within him, waiting to be unleashed and thanks to Theo he found it.
One crisp autumn evening, as they strolled along the Hogwarts grounds, Theo and Neville found themselves enveloped in a comfortable silence. It was then that Neville mustered the courage to address the unspoken tension that lingered between them. "Theo, there's something I need to tell you," Neville began, his voice steady yet tinged with nervousness. Theo turned to him, his stormy grey eyes reflecting the warm glow of the setting sun. "What is it, Neville?" he inquired, his heart racing with anticipation. And in that fleeting moment, beneath the canopy of stars and whispers of the wind, Neville Longbottom leaned in, closing the distance between them, and pressed his lips softly against Theo's.
Time seemed to stand still as the world around them faded into insignificance. In that first tender kiss, a myriad of emotions intertwined - passion, longing, acceptance, and above all, the blossoming of a love that transcended house rivalries and preconceived notions. As they pulled away, their eyes locked in a silent exchange that spoke volumes. A silent understanding passed between them, binding their hearts in a tapestry of newfound affection and shared dreams. In a world divided by allegiances and expectations, Theo and Neville found solace in each other's company, proving that sometimes the greatest adventures begin with a simple act of kindness and understanding. And as they walked the halls of Hogwarts together, their laughter resonated with a newfound sense of belonging and acceptance, a testament to the power of friendship in the face of adversity.
