Impossible
That night, after young Harry had been put to bed, the four adults gathered around a low table with tea and discussed the expectations moving forward.
"The Sect Leader has asked that should any members of the pack wish to participate in anything the Cloud Recesses has to offer, to follow the rules engraved on the wall of discipline. I have provided a copy here," Lan Wangji slid the book across to Remus Lupin. "Should anyone need it."
"Thank you, I will ensure all of my pack are aware of the rules."
"So they've accepted you as pack alpha?" Sirius enquired.
"Yes, it was discussed in light of our new situation."
"Yes, the situation!" Wei Wuxian blurted out. "Qing'er has put me in charge of full moon contingencies so you Mr. Lupin will be working closely with me to plan and then Qing'er and I will work on a more permanent solution."
"A permanent solution?" The werewolf asked.
"Well, yeah! You don't want to lose yourself to the wolf forever do you?"
"What you're talking about... it's impossible."
"Lucky for you that I've lived by the phrase 'Attempt the impossible' my whole long life now isn't it?"
The pair just stared back at him blinking until he rolled backwards with huge belly laughs. He quieted down after a soft reprimand of, "Wei Ying," was called out.
"Ah yes, Lan Zhan, I know, this is important. Just know, Remus Lupin, you are with me until we solve this impossible problem. Sirius Black, you are Harry's godfather. This is a new place and you all have lost so much. For that, my husband and I, wish for you all to have space and time to grieve and heal. Harry will grow knowing of his birth parents, being around people who knew them personally, and he will have my husband and I as his adoptive parents, for he is a child of our souls."
"Sirius mentioned this before, you must understand, where we come from, Soul Magic is vehemently restricted. As you've said, Harry has already lost so much, does what you speak of pose risk?"
Lan Wangji spoke first, "Harry, when we found him just after the explosion, was already affected by two opposing pieces of souls. It appeared, to me, to be a small ball of resentment encapsulated in a red casing of love and anger in equal measures. Truly a powerful bit of magic there."
"The ritual circle..." Sirius whispered.
"Yes! In the nursery, under the carpet, she had written a barrier array powered by a willing sacrifice. So when She died the deal was made and when he attacked again the killing curse rebounded, causing the explosion."
"So it's because of this that he became a child of your soul?" Remus sounded sceptical.
"Not exactly. You see, my husband, the bearer of light, who fights wherever the chaos is, and I the grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, who has died and was resurrected; we the Yin and Yang immortals who vowed to defeat evil, protect the weak and to live without regrets... When fate gave us our first born I died in a siege against me not long after, leaving my partner to raise him in my stead until we were reunited. When fate gave us our twin girls, we had just lost over 90% of the global magical population. The religious zealots fanning the fire of fear has caused their small village in central America to turn on them, burn them, drown them, hang them, it did not matter. That they survived the purge was a gift, dragging us away from the chaos and despair that we had seen across the globe. Now, fate has given us a son who's very life has protected our entire magical community from being discovered and put at risk of annihilation. The masses, fed by fear, will burn this world to the ground. So we will protect and raise him to protect himself and defend others, as we have done with his siblings before him."
"So he is to be trained?" Remus enquired firmly. "I wish to train him in Defense before he goes to Hogwarts."
"Hogwarts?" Lan Wangji chimed in. "Albus Dumbledore's school of wizardry?"
"Yes. He will attend at the age of 11, as his father and mother did before him." Sirius answered.
Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji shared a look. "He will be trained in the Cultivation Six Arts as a Lan disciple beginning at the age of five. He will receive his spiritual sword, his courtesy name, a clarity bell and his wand at the age of 11. Then, and only then, will we return to England." Wei Wuxian stated clearly their expectations.
"What is a courtesy name?" Sirius asked
"He will be given his baby name at the adoption ceremony and his naming ceremony celebrates when he comes of age and becomes a Young Master."
"I see. So what will his new name be?" He barked, making Wei Ying jump.
"Lan Hari, A-Ri for short. Sounds just just Harry in a British accent. Named for Krishna." Wei Ying was smiling brightly, obviously very happy with his naming skills.
"Acceptable. I wish to also teach him how to become an animagus before his majority, my little progslette!"
"What's an animagus?" Wei Wuxian asked politely.
"This." Sirius grinned a manic grin and transformed into a dog, causing Wei Ying to scream at the top of his lungs and run out the door. Sirius turned back, confused and Lan Zhan made his apologies and escorted them back to the pack's camp for the evening.

The day of the adoption ceremony came quickly. everyone was in attendance, Lan disciples and werewolf refugees stood side by side. Many were shocked over the cordial welcome universally experienced. Water from the cold pond was adorned on the babe's forehead, visibly the redness receding around his scar. A training forehead ribbon was presented to the immortal couple and Lan Wangji deftly tied the plain white ribbon he had been enchanting with Cleansing music around his new son's head.
"May this ribbon protect you from harm, even from yourself, a Lan's ribbon is a sign of restraint. By this symbol, all will honor you as our son," he looked up at his husband who has been holding their child throughout the ceremony. "Lan Hari, Son of Lan Zhan, courtesy name Lan Wangji, and..."
Wei Ying took over, "Wei Ying, courtesy name Wei Wuxian. Lan Hari, welcome to the family!" and he kissed his son on the crown of this head and the crowd applauded before presenting gifts. Many small toys, blankets, and fabric for clothes were presented before Sirius and Remus approached together.
"We don't have much to offer in congratulations." Remus Lupin began, "I have Sect Leader Lan to thank for providing the materials but we have built on our once greatest invention. The Marauders Map. It was a live accurate map of Hogwarts Castle and the people in it. Here we present to you The Spotlight Map. This map is connected to a necklace engraved with a Stag, James' animagus. The necklace is for Hari to wear and with the Spotlight Map, his location will appear along with anyone in a 5 kilometer radius. The necklace has protections that trigger an alarm on the map when activated. The necklace can also act as a portk-... teleportation talisman... when activated by the magical signature from any of the five of us from the map or with physical contact with the necklace."
"Wow, this is amazing! I would love to discuss this some more, inventor to inventors." Wei Wuxian winked conspiraculously. "Perhaps later. We thank you for your gift. Anything that protects A-Ri is most welcome."
"Yes, I believe he will grow up very protected." Sirius sniggered as the pair rejoined the throng and the gift presenting continued. A banquet was provided following the conclusion of the ceremony. It was tranquil, with gentle music and low murmuring, not to mention concluding in time for the Lan curfew. The new family walked home to the Jingshi, a sleeping boy held warm between them.

The night of the full moon came swiftly after. Sweeping away all tranquility in the back woods. All the werewolves were nervous. Wei Wuxian was currently in a meeting with the Lan Doctor and their Alpha discussing the plan for the night.
"No, absolutely not!" the Alpha's voice bellowed through the canvas of the tent.
"It is MY Mountain. The barrier won't allow you out once I make a portal to get you there. I will be there because my mountain doesn't like outsiders. It's for your protection."
"Sirius can transform to protect himself. A werewolf won't attack another animal, but you're human, even though you're an immortal I still don't want you to risk yourself like this!"
"He's right Grandmother. But I see the concern on how welcoming the mountain will even be to outsiders without you present. Perhaps you can ward yourself in the cave again?"
"Fine." The grandmaster sounded resigned. "I'll go make the portal."
A permanent portal was burned into the very bedrock of the back woods of the cloud recesses. Once activated by Yin energy it teleports any who cross its border to the clearing that once was inhabited by a different group of refugees. During the subsequent travels, a few white rabbits slipped through and hopped around their new environment. This made Wei Ying laugh as he strolled into the Demon Slaughtering Cave and cast a transparent barrier of solid resentment and watched as the moon arose.
The collective cries of the painful transformation caused Wei Wuxian to wince and the rabbits to run into the trees. Soon howls pierced the night and he watched as they all turned to their scarred leader, each lowering their heads as he called out to the night once more. then they all followed him as he took off into the woods.
Wei Ying ended up sleeping on and off, listening to the calls of the pack. It sounded fun and they didn't even look like dogs, or wolves even. More humanoid than he had been expecting. He ruminated over their loss of consciousness and of his friend who once also lost his consciousness and had it returned here in the Burial Mounds. He could do this.
When he awoke, he found all of them once more dressed and human, through all seemed low in energy. Wei Ying activated the return portal he burned into the bedrock of his mountain and escorted them through. Lan Qing was waiting for them with her team of doctors ready for a full evaluation and Lan Zhan behind her followed by a train of servants with food to satisfy the pack. His husband thinks of everything.
Soon Wei Ying retired to his workshop to begin solving this impossible problem.
