Mori i've never once been to school what make you think i can go to a magic one
Mori sied as he looked up from the letter he’d received, the letter was messy and almost eligible but it was important all the same, he folded it closed and acknowledged the small boy standing in front of his desk. “Dazai it's nice to see you've come to see me”
Dazai shrunk into himself under Mori’s gaze, and replied with a flat tone”well you did ask for me Mori.”. “So I did… well no matter, i have a mission for you” after this statement Mori shifted out of his chair and started to circle Dazai. “I have received a letter as of recently that has made this mission available to us, to you Dazai,” Mori walked behind the boy and put both hands on his shoulders. “But for us to do this, you will have to play family for a bit.” Mori crooned to Dazai’s ear voice getting lower, “or there will be consequences” Mori felt the small boy tense and the man smiled a cruel sadistic smile only reserved for the boy. “I'm glad we have come to an… understanding. now, leave, I have no need for you”. And just as quietly as the boy arrived he left.

It had been many weeks since Dazai’s discussion with Mori or his father, the title he had to refer to Mori now or until the mission was over. Dazai wondered what the mission had installed for him, Mori, like always, had told him close to nothing about what he had to do. Some time after the initial conversation over the mission Mori had told him that he was to be addressed as father. He was not to talk of anything about his “home” or family. Dazai assumed that he was going to have to play house for one of Mori’s clients, which explained most of the rules in dazai’s mind. So as he went to sleep in his container, for once he was oblivious for what was to come the next morning.

Thump, “Dazai get out” said in a sweet voice that he wished he never had to deal with that early in the morning, “Mori said now” the gauzed boy groaned in acknowledgement and dressed in his clothes to go greet Elise. As he exited his home, he watched Elise, dawned in a blue frilly dress, skipping to a sleek black car and so that he was not crucified, he followed the small girl.
“Ah Dazai, good morning you look as lovely as usual.” Dazai wasn't sure if that was a backhanded compliment or not but it didn't matter, he nodded to show he was listening to the doctor. “As i'm sure that you remember our most recent conversations about your special mission” Dazai nodded again, looking out of the window to see an unfamiliar neighbourhood “Well it is time, for the next few weeks we, you and I will be living together as a family, i will prepare you for school.”
School, Dazais head had turned at the mention of this, Mori chuckled at Dazais reaction almost as if he was mocking the boy. “Yes there’s something at this school that I want and, you are my way in” he taped Dazai on the nose as he finished the sentence. For the rest of the ride the car was silent. They rode through the suburbs of Yokohama and eventually came to a small brown townhouse with large front facing windows and a green front door. “Home sweet home” said Mori pushing Dazai out the car, “this will be our home-” “what about Elise” “as much as i care for this will be our home, she doesn't need to be here and anyway, i have you to entertain me. I even brought some of Elise's old dresses for us” Dazai inwardly cringed at Mori’s words.
He had alway been uneasy around Mori, for starters he owed everything he had to Mori, if it weren't for Mori he wouldn't have a home. Even though most days he wished he was dead on the street. But on the other hand all of dazai’s suffering had been because of him. Every inch of his skin under the bandages remind him of how he was not enough for Mori, of how he was not like the other children. Like the children he saw when he was on missions, children that laughed, played, and cried. He was smarter, nimble and in Mori’s twisted mind even beautiful but still not enough.
“Well this is your room Dazai, i expect you to keep it clean” “wha-” unbeknownst to Dazai because of his inner turmoil Mori had walked him to his room. “I said this is the room you will occupy for the time being, i expect that you will keep the room clean” Mori begins to walk out after this but not before turning and leaving with a finale note “oh and Dazai” “yes” “don't even think about killing yourself, this mission is very important to me and if you fail, i'll personally make sure you will never see your end.” Mori’s face shifted to a sickenly sweet smile. “Oh and dinners at 5 make yourself at home” then he closed the door shrouding Dazai in complete darkness.

It's been 3 days since Dazai started living with Mori as a “family” and I wasn't as bad as it could be. To be completely honest they didn't really talk to each other just living beside each other pretending that their relationship isn't a parasitic codependency, that probably gonna kill one of them. But what is important is that Dazai has been sent to his room, sent there because there will be visitors and Mori needs quiet. There was a loud noise on the door, Dazai listened Mori walk slowly on the floorboards toward the door and with an audible creek Mori opened the door.
“Hello how can i help you” Said Mori in English to the people at the door “what can i do for you this afternoon” Dazai wasn't used to hearing Mori speak English it sounded wired or maybe i was because Dazai was upstairs and Mori and the people were downstairs. After a few minutes of Dazai listening and being as quiet as he can he heard his name being called from down stairs.“Ah Dazai come here and meet Albus and Severus, they wish to speak to you” Mori beckoned towards Dazai.
As Mori spoke to Dazai both of the men turned their heads to face him. Their eyes were met with a small boy in oversized shorts and shirt covered in bandages. But nothing compared to meeting the boy's eyes, hollow and caverness like the darkest reaches of a cave. Much too serious for a child but they can ont inquire to any for they do not know the family or the boy so they move forward and it would not be appropriate at this time.
“Hello young Dazai, my name is Albus Dumbledore and this is my colleague Servrus Snape.” Dazai bows his head in acknowledgement of the two men before Dumbledore speaks again “We are coming from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,” Dazais eyes open wider momentarily ‘well this is stupid’ the boy thought. Then he felt his shoulder get squeezed a little too hard to be comforting, looking over his shoulder he saw Mori giving him a look, a look of if you don't go along with it i'll make sure you regret it.
Dumbledore either not noticing this interaction or not caring looks up to Mori “Now i'm sure you must be confused but, that is why we have come to give you this invitation in person. We as a school normally don't accept international students but apparently you have an exception” Dumbledore looked away from Mori to smile at Dazai, then the man named Snape began to speak in a drawl. “Hogwarts is a pristine school for children that are magically gifted, your son has these abilities”.
‘no he fucking dosent’ Dazai thought, what was Mori thinking Dazai can’t go to this school, he cant do magic. Knowing himself he’ll probably suck all the magic out of these people, it's only logical. He takes away people's abilities, why would it be different with magic. ‘Hu, i just accepted that, didn't i, i guess magic exists’ Dazai just looked up to the men in front of him “where is this school anyway because you're obviously not from japan” Dazai said with a hint of snark in his voice.
“Good question,” said Dumbledor, “well Hogwarts is situated in scotland. it is a boarding school, but do not worry you can come back during the holidays to see your family.” Dazai inwardly smirked at this information. Then Mori spoke “i think it would be beneficial to Osamu if he were to stay there for the holidays,” Mori pats Dazai on the shoulder “my boy gets stressed moving around to much” Dumbledor smiles at this information “of course we have other students that stay for the holidays.”
“Well then I think you'll be expecting Osamu in the new school year” Mori smiled at the two men facing him, like a wolf in sheep skin. Dumbledor stood up from the sofa “well that will be great, i'm excited to see him roaming the halls. But before we take our leave i have a few last details” “please go on, we haven't got anything to do today” “well i'm not going to be that long, first of all in 2 weeks professor Snape will come fetch you to get your school supplies and take you to the train to Hogwarts,”. There were more details but Dazai had spaced out by then. Then both of the magic men left and he was back in an empty house with Mori.

The evening had come and Mori had requested to speak to Dazai “You did a good job today Osamu, I'm proud of you”. Those words made Dazai happy, he ignored the pit in his stomach that formed with the same words, he did a good job. “When you are at that school I will need biweekly updates about what you have learned. I have learned that they send letters by owl so try not to get malled.” Mori smiled at him after this comment, they continued to talk about Dazais assignment while Mori made crude comments on Dazai having a uniform at his new “school”.
When Dazai retired to his room that night his mind was racing trying to formulate some type of plan for an assignment that he knew next to nothing about. But it was not the fact that Dazai knew nothing about the assignment, no that's not his problem, his problem is that he knows nothing about any of the people in this new world. He didn't know their customs or what their normal lives looked like, so as he drifted into uneasy sleep he made a decision to learn everything he could about these new people and their magic.
