Always

You remember it like it was yesterday, your first year as a teacher at Hogwarts.

You remembered how excited you were. You loved your years in Hogwarts, so you knew you'd love teaching there. Though you remember it being hard to go back. The last time you were there you were a student..and it was the last time you saw all your close friends together happy.

You had been best friends with 4 very well known boys. Always causing trouble the 5 of you were. The school knew you all as prongs, padfoot, moony, wormtail and smallfoot.
These names were known around the school, yet only you t knew the meanings of these names, not even Dumbledore knewYou had all became an animagus for Remus lupin, aka Moony.

He was biten by a werewolf at 4 and he kept it well hid, untill first year at Hogwarts and James and you started to realize he'd disappear alot after your friend group became friends. It worried you, you had grown a very soft spot for the boy and you wanted to know that he was okay.

Once the truth came out, okay was..a bit of an understatement. He went through some of the worst pain every month and had to go through it all alone.
so you brought up the idea to the group to do yet another thing that could get you all and big trouble, so no one hesitated to agree. it took three years to do, but you finally all did it. you became animagus. James was one of the most beautiful stags, Sirius was a black wolf, Peter a rat and you, you were a fox, hint on why you were smallfoot.

You remember the smile on Remus face when he saw the lot of you turn into an animal for the first time for him, it made your heart do flips. The years went on, you 5 made the map, got into trouble, goofed off, you were one of the best beaters the Gryffindor team has seen, and Remus made sure announce every hit you made with excitement, and once a month for years, you, James, Sirius and Peter would all go with Remus for the full moon.
one day though, Sirius decides to pull a bad joke on a boy with long black hair.

after graduation, You remember you all splitting up, yet staying close. You and Remus wrote to eachother every day and you felt your soft spot for the man grow softer. You and attended James and Lily's wedding too, it was one of the best nights of your life. Every one was together, laughing, having fun and celebrating.
Then bits after that, you were getting invited to a baby shower by Lily. You remember how Happy you felt going over to Lily and James place. It was such a cozy place for them and you were happy for them.
you were the first to show that day, then Sirius, them Peter then Remus. You smiled the brightest you have since the last time you all hung out together when you saw him, and he seemed to be giving you the same smile.

You walk to him and give him a hug and you enjoyed the way his arms around you

Though, that day wasn't about you or your ignored feelings for your best friend, you and remus walked to the kitchen where everyone celebrated. There was a new Potter coming to the world and you were beyond excited to welcome em to the group. After games, guessing the gender, talking and giving gifts, the day had ended and it was back to your everyday life.
You were telling Lily good bye when Remus walked up to you "hey..can I talk to you before you go?" he had asked. You remember feeling butterflies in your stomach, you didn't know if they were good or bad. You nod and when you two walk to where your alone he grabs your hand

"I've been wondering..would you like to meet up after work a day and have dinner with me?" he smiles. You blink, did he just ask you out? you smile slowly and start nodding "yes!" you said alittle two excitedly "..I mean..uh yeah, sounds fun" you smile sweetly at him.
He chuckles "it's a date then.." he smiles before he waves and leaves. You stand there, shocked and smiling. You've had feelings for Remus for years, though you never acted on it, you didn't think he'd feel the same. so you were completely content on just being his best friend.
Boy..he seemed to be providing you wrong. You did a little happy dance before you headed your journey home.

The day you guys agreed on came quickly. You remember how you talked for hours, how every smile he gave it had your stomach doing flips, you remembered how you'd melt when he looked into your eyes, and when his hand would brush against you own it sent sparks up your spine. It had been the perfect night, and he ended it on a perfect noted giving you the kiss you had always dreamed of having, and it was so much better than you'd ever expect.
Things for you and Remus just went up from there, after a few more dates, you two made it official. He was your boyfriend. You loved going around, telling James, your wing man since Hogwarts, Remus finally became yours.then after a few months, he moved in with you.

Life was perfect.

You remembered the smell of coffee that surrounded the house every morning when you woke up, and the way his lips felt on your forehead telling you good morning. You remembered how beautiful he looked as the morning sun shines on his face, making his eyes look like the prettiest of lakes. He never thought he looked good, especially after THOSE nights. You told him every time that that was incorrect.
He was the most beautiful person you'd ever laid eyes on. You remember the nights too. some where harder than others, but you stuck by his side no matter what. As a fox on the full moons, and as his partner on every other night. Youd hold him after every nightmare, every time a wound hurt, or just when he needed the comfort.
His insecurities would hit him the hardest the nights before the full moonYou listened to every one he told you, then you reassure him and hold him tighter. You remembered telling him his scars were beautiful, they showed how strong and brave he was. Each scar held a memory, a story. each unique to him. You remember the smile he always gave you, and the way his lips felt on your when he'd give you loving thank you kisses and how you'd giggle when he'd say 'i love you' over and over again.

Life was good, even being in love with a werewolf. He was the sweetest one ever. One day, you and remus got the olw that their baby had been born. His name was Harry Potter.
You smile and quickly get dressed and you and Remus get ready to go to James place.
You decide to use floor powder, it'd be fun to just pop in through the fire place to see the little bugger. You take a pinch of the powder and stand in the fire place and say the potters clearly before dropping the powder.
Green flames surround you before disappear into them. When you open your eyes, you had slipped and fallen onto the potters floor.

They were looking down at you in amusement. You smile and go to get up before Remus came behind you, also loosing his balance and falling ontop of you.
You groan as you hear lily giggle, but then you hear a baby noise. You smile as you push Remus off of you to get up and walk over to the bundle in Lily's arms. You look down to see a smiling baby, he had green eye like his mother, but black hair like his dad. You couldn't help but smile. He was beautiful. "meet Uncle small foot" Lily says as she hands over Harry to you.
You smile as you look down at him as he makes more baby noises. You smile brightly, looking to James "mate, this is the best thing you've ever done! look at him!" you smile and James walks to stand next to you, agreeing with you.
Remus watched how Happy you looked and he slightly smiles to himself..it made him think..maybe this could be the future you two have one day. Little did he know it was gonna be a bumpy future

As you played with Harry, Sirius came over, Everyone laughed and talked, having a good time, meeting and playing with Harry. You believed he was going to make a fine Marauder, and James Even made you cry for the first time, telling you, you were also Harry's god father. (since he didn't have a good mother, he just got two god father's)

Unfortunately, that was the last time everyone was together laughing.

The next bit of the year got busy. Voldemort was becoming a real problem, well..he had always been a problem. You and Remus had been getting busy with work, well Remus was having trouble finding a place that would keep him and you started working with magical creatures.
so both of that kept both of you busy. You remember how excited you were for Halloween though, itd be the first night you and remus could have to relax and have a date night, and thank God it wasnt a full moon.
The night had been going well, it smelled of fall and you had been baking and dancing with Remus, giving candy out to trick or treaters. It was late at night, and you decided to give James and Lily a visit.
you wanted to wish Harry a Happy first Halloween. You told remus you'd be back quickly and went to apperate there.
You saw something you could never unsee.

There laid James, eyes staring but they saw nothing, his face pale and lifeless. You run up to him with a yell so choked and full of sobs, you weren't sure if something so helpless could really come out of you.
You held one of you best friends close to you, memories of everything you guys have done flashed through you mind.
when you met on the train, making the map, study sessions turning into a prank, going to hogsmeade, helping eachother in quidditch.
you saw it all.
Then you remember Lily and Harry, you gently put James down before you run up the stairs calling for Lily and you felt your stomach drop when she didn't answer.
You ran into Harry's room and saw Lily laying on the ground, just as pale as James had been. you put your hand over your mouth, you trembled. Your two best friends had just been killed.
You look to see a crying Harry. You quickly see Harry and go to sooth him, rubbing his face gently, trying to block his mother from him, you look at the new scar on his head..You heard footsteps and saw Snape run in, he falls to his knees, not even caring your there, comforting Harry.
You had forgotten how he fancied Lily..After a few minutes Snape looks up at you.
He tells you to leave, that everything would be sorted out. you were almost offended, your best friends were just killed and he excepted you to just leave.
Though, You knew Sirius would get Harry...so after a long while you agreed and back home you went. when you landed in the living room of your own home, you feel to your knees, holding your head, choking out a sob.
Remus was quick by your side. You held onto him, you could barely talk, everything you saw replying in your head. You finally manage to choke out what happened and Remus heart stopped.

His friends were dead. and you saw it.

Unfortunately..things started to go down hill even more from there

You became distant, and so did Remus when he found out James and Lily died AND it had been because of Sirius...You too remember being absolutely heart broken about it.
Sirius..was their best friend, never would you think he'd give James away like that. it just proves no matter how much you know someone..you never really know them.
You remember not being able to sleep for weeks because you couldn't get Harry for being with Remus.
He was 'too dangerous' for Harry to be around. Bullshit in your opinion. You heard how he was sent to live with his muggle relatives..you just hoped they taught him at least the bare minimum.

But you and Remus drifted..he didn't want you around. He was grieving and scared, and so were you and it pushed the two of you apart. Before you knew it..you two split.
Remus had become to distant from you. All he did was snap and lay in bed. The two of you had lost every close friends you had..you didn't blame him. But you wanted him to talk to you and he wasn't having any of it. one night you had a big fight and words were said that neither of you meant. You called him a werewolf, he called you a nothing. You found yourself picking you up your coat and storming out the house.
that was the last night Remus saw you for awhile. you wanted to look back..so bad. Though your mind told you for now, it was the best for both of you. You started living on your own.

You didn't wanna bother on any other relationships, you knew you'd never love anyone like you did Remus so you didnt bother.
Instead you focused on work, the magical creatures needed you so you took care of them and focus on research on them. And this is what you did for the next 12 years, and Remus was still in your thoughts every night before bed..how you hoped he was doing okay.

One day, you had gotten an owl from Dumbledore, asking if I'd like to help hagrid with teaching of magical creatures. The owl took you by surprise, you never thought you teach there. Though...you thought about it. Hogwarts was a place that made you feel at home, you remembered that's where You had a family and had the most laughs..some of your best memories were there.
So you wrote back saying you'd be happy too.

Before you knew it, you were in your way to Hogwarts for a new school year. You never expect a familiar person decided to go into teaching the same year you did.

The first dinner you sat next to Remus. For the first time in year, you were sitting next to Remus. You remember how fast your heart was beating, you felt like you really were a student again...and remus felt the same.
He never forgot you, in fact, you were his thought every night. He missed the way you held him, and the comfort you brought him...but he didn't realize it till you were here sitting next to him.
He was the new DADA teacher and it made you smile..that was his favorite subject when we were in school.As the year started, you noticed how much the kids liked him...and you noticed Harry.
He was already in his third year of school. you missed him grow up..well the first half of his life.

When you saw him sitting with his friends at that table, he seemed to be mouthing off at a blonde at the Slytherin table, you chuckle and knew...you weren't gonna miss anymore of this kids life.

you remember the first day of that year clearly. Harry and his friends from earlier came to class early, they seem to have been friends with hagrid. You remember how hagrid excitedly introduce you to the three, and the look on Harry's face. It was like he recognized you, but didn't have a bloody clue who you were, it made you smile. You held out your hand.
"hello, yes, that is me, I will be teaching you this year. You three are?" you smile.
The three shake it and introduce themselves. Ron Weasley. Hermione Granger and Harry Potter. You just smile and say how nice it is to meet them. Harry seemed to smile a bit when your eyes didn't widen at his name, or your eyes didn't flicker to his scar...you didn't need to. You saw it when it was a fresh gash.
plus, you didn't see this as the famous boy who lived. this was Harry Potter, your god son.

You didn't know if or even how'd you tell him. this had been your first real meeting. he didn't know you and you weren't going to throw that on him. You did take it how he looked EXACTLY like James...but he had Lily's familiar green eyes

The talk before class was fun, these three were funny to watch, and Harry seemed to find himself liking talking to you.
Though soon the rest of the class arrived and Harry went to go with the rest of his class mates. what he called you though, left a slight sting.

Its never what you thought the boy would call you, you thought it'd be uncle Samllfoot.
Instead it was professor.
As that year went on, you and Harry got closer, he'd always come to your class room on his free time. he'd tell you about his dementor problem and how Remus was helping him with it. It made you slightly smile, you were glad he was helping him, it gave you quite the fright when you saw him falling from a height like that. you didn't leave once from the hospital wing till he woke up, though you didn't stay right next to the bed, that's were his team wa

You and Remus had been getting closer during the school year as well, you often found yourself visiting him late at night, or grading papers with him. You didn't grade much, you remember you spent most your year worrying about Sirius and trying to defend buckbeak.

terrible what happened, and you had tried to stop Malfoy, but it was too late. So you had been trying to keep the hippogriff alive and keep hagrid from feeling depressed all the time. You had went to his second quidditch match, he seemed nervous but confident, and you slightly smile to yourself, having a feeling he learned enough of the potronus to help him if he needed.
The game went amazingly, he even shot down three 'dementors'. You and Remus had to go to the three he shot down with the spell to see it was Malfoy and his friends.
Apparently they were trying to spook him and the tables turned. You saw Harry running up to the two of you with bright smiles
"professors! did you see the portronus I did!" he said excitedlyYou chuckle "that was quite good for a wizard your age Harry, very proud indeed but..." Harry's smile flattens but doesn't disappear when he hears the end of your sentence, you look to lupin in a way of asking him to finish your sentence.

He softly smiles and looks to Harry "those were exactly dementor Harry.."
"what?" Harry raises a brow and you and Remus show that it was really just Malfoy and friends dressed up.
You couldn't help but chuckle when Harry didn't seem upset at all, he actually seemed happy he gave them a fright

The days continued You'd sub for Remus class quite a bit when he had to be out. and Harry found him self to love that class, with the normal professor AND the sub professor. You always made sure the fun vibes Remus gave off were still there, giving them fun activities while teaching what Remus had planned
and you felt yourself getting closer to Remus.. almost how you guys were before. This school year had made you realize how much you missed him and how hard it was to live without him...you didn't know if he felt the same. One night though, you had been grading things with him, you saw he had the Marauders map out, it had been a hot minute since you've seen this old thing, there's your name was...right next to moonys.
"hey..heh where'd you get this moony?" you asked He looks as you look at it
"Harry had it...I don't know where he got it, but Snape almost took it" You blink them start chuckling "this paper would've drove him bloody mad" "he did seem to be getting pretty upset with it when I was there" he chuckles, rememberimg what the map said.
Though, there was something that caught your eye..then your eyes widen
"Moony...it's Harry."
you drop the map and start to run out the office and to the whomping willow. Lupin heart sinks when he hears you and he quickly picks up the map.
It had Sirius with Harry Ron and Hermione and he quickly darted into a sprint behind you. You ran as fast as your legs could take you, running I'm pure adrenaline.

Your brain went to the worst, what if Sirius hurt Harry..no..well..no no he could hurt Harry could he? you thought if he did, you had to get there before anything bad happened. You turned into a fox in the blink of an eye and jump on the stump to calm the tree down, then book it into the trunk and run down the hall, you could hear Remus behind you the whole time.
You swing the door open, turning back to your normal self and Remus runs in. there he was. Sirius Black.
You watched the kids as Remus and Sirius talked...and as they did they hugged. You heard it all, you even heard..Peter was alive. Remus said he was seen on the map and the map never lies. You then look over to Ron and it all clicked. he was holding a rat, a rat that's been in the Weasley family for 12 years.
a rat that's been in hiding. a murderer. Your rage kicks in and Harry still seems confused but he looks hurt as you start to side with Sirius and Remus.
Though you were angry you felt guilty..for thinking Sirius was a murder..and for the look Harry gave you. After a bit, you had convinced the three to take the rat. You snatch the rat up, and put it on the ground. it gets to run, to find an escape room, but your want hit him with a spell. what you saw made you want to puke.
There Peter was, very very alive. You stood next to Sirius and remus, and when Peter saw you three, it was like looking into a mirror of the past though for him that was not a good thing. He went to go greet you but you three angrily push him off..then he goes to Harry and you snap. You grab the back of he collar and yank him back
"how DARE you talk to Harry?! to bring up his dad?!" you were out raged. he was the reason they were dead and he had the audacity to go near their child? your god son?
it took everything in you to not tear him to pieces. then he tried to reason with you three. "he was gonna kill me!" he lets out an almost sob.

"then you should've died!" Sirius shouts "just as he wouldn't done for you!" he was furious.

You Sirius and Remus all roll up yours sleeve to finally get rid of him for good, Peter was looking rather scared too. he knew you three wouldn't have any mercy at all.
Then Harry steps in...after everything he just found out, you didn't think he would. But he told you not to kill him, and when he did, it's like you were looking at James.

Though he made sure to tell Peter he was going to let Azkaban and the dementors have him. You remember you were walking with Harry down the hall, remus and ron had Peter, Hermione walked with Sirius in the front.

You looked to Harry and decided with everything he knew..you might as well tell him.

"Harry..I..you know your father and I were very close."

He looks to you "heh..your trying to tell me your my god Father aren't you? I know"

You look at him and blink. The amount this kid knew..it was shocking, you looked up to Sirius then back at Harry who nodding saying he knew he was too.
"how did you-"

"I uh, over heard" he rubs the back of his neckYou chuckle but before anymore could be said, you had made it out the whomping willow.

You went up to Remus as Harry went to Sirius and they started talking. You had a feeling you knew what he was saying too, so you didn't dare interrupt, so instead you wake over to remus, putting a hand on his arms.
When he looks at you, you have the softest smile, like you hadn't seen his face in years and this was the first time looking at his beauty again, it made his heart melt. He had missed you so much, this years has told him how much he wanted you back in his life and he regretted how he pushed you away in the first place. He puts his hand on your face and rubs your cheek with his thumb and slowly leans in.
You felt his lips on yours for the first time in years. It like something inside you came alive that you didn't even know was dead. You pull back when you hear Ron clear his throat and you chuckle a bit "sorry ron.." then you bring Remus into your arms. finally holding him again.
As you hold him you see Peter glance at the two of you and you shoot him a death glare that makes him flinch and look away. You couldn't believe that Peter did it...after al these years. You should've known Sirius would never do that to James. Those two...were inseparable as kids.
You spent years wondering what could've pushed padfoot to do it, just to find out tonight, he never did. You remember how it felt in that moment. everyone seemed happy.
Harry wore the biggest smile after talking to padfoot, and he had one just as big as Harry's. Hermione was with Ron making sure he was okay and Peter was being turned in. Most importantly, Remus was back in your arms and you were never going to let him go again.

But then there was a bright light that Shined down from the sky as a cloud moves out the way.
You look up to see the full moon and your heart drops. Remus didn't take his potion.

You quickly look to him as you feel his grip on you get painfully tight. His pupils were growing, his grunts turned into growls and he started to grow. You hated it, but you had to get him off of you before he ripped open your skin with his now growing claws.
You hated you couldn't hold him through it, you knew how painful it was, but you made sure to stay near him no matter how dangerous it was. Everything around you seemed to slow, you heard your name being called to get away, you see in the corner of your eye Peter turning into a rat and fleeing, and you saw Remus now a werewolf standing right in front of you.

He was growling and snapping at you as you took steps back, but then he heard the trio. His heads wips to face them and he starts walking towards them.
You love Remus, but you knew he wasn't in his right mind right now, so you turn back into a fox and sprint full speed, jumping on his back, biting and clawing at him. You soon see Sirius joins you in his animagus form.

This got him away from the kids, as he was now too distracted with the two animals on him, biting and scratching. Werewolf Remus had had enough though, he grips onto Sirius, scratching him pretty badly, then throwing him to the side. He then grabs you by the head, you can feel his claws sink into your neck, and he throws you over next to Sirius.

He looks back at Harry and his friends but before he can move, you were back up, running too him. You jumped on his chest to make him go backwards which worked, and black did the same, making you all tumble.

Remus took you both in a painful, cutting grip and threw you to the side. You had hit a tree so hard, you lost consciousness for a few seconds. When you open your eyes, you see remus running into the the forest..you then see Sirius limping away.

You try to get up, but you feel two arms around you. As you look up, you see Harry. he looked very concerned and scared, and you heard him whispering to you to stay awake as he starts running to Sirius.
You try to do as he wishes, trying to keep your eyes open. If you had the strength, you'd jump out his arms and run to where Remus ran off too, to make sure he was safe. But right now you had to make sure Harry was safe..you knew Remus would be okay, he's done this a long time.
Harry found Sirius at a lake, he was back to his normal self, and he was out cold. Harry run up to him and he gently sets you down next to him and you take the opportunity to turn back into your normal self.
You laid next to Sirius, unable to sit up. Harry looks at you "what, what do I do?! you two are hurt, professor, how do I he-" but you cut him off, you saw what seemed like death itself approaching.

"Harry, listen son, use what Lupin taught you. think of the happiest thing you can" you gasp out. Harry knew what you meant and quickly looks to see the dementors coming quickly.
He pulls out his wand and starts saying the spell, but you see him struggling. You go to pull out your own wand but the as the first dementor makes it to you, it takes you out.
You were so weak it didn't take much, you saw sit get close and start inhaling your soul. Harry quickly tries to get it to go away and he watches and you go limp. The last thing you saw was Harry starting to slip at the amount of them there were, then everything faded to black.

When you woke up, you were in the hospital wing, you could hear other teacher in hall talking. you didn't care much what they had said, till you Heard what the conversation was about

"Sirius Black has escaped once again!"

You sat up quickly, you looked at yourself, you were wrapped up. Sirius was passed out at the lake, what had happened?? how long have you been out??

You were taken out your thoughts by a hand on your own and you quickly look over. You see Remus sitting next to your cot. He looked sorry and tired and relieved all at the same time. You can't help but smile "well hey good lookin, come here often?" you joke.

Remus let's out a Shakey laugh and leans in to hug you. "I thought I..I...I'm so sorry love, I didn't mean to hurt you" he sounds like he's on the verge of tears.
You wrap your arms him, and hold him to you "hey, it's alright, I knew what I was doing" you try to reassure him. After what felt like hours he finally pulls away and looks at you

"so..I've decided to resign.."You weren't surprised by this at all. People were bound to know he was a werewolf now, and parents wouldn't be too happy about it. You supported this completely because well..you were doing the same thing. "me too remus..hagrid is an amazing teacher here and doesn't need me. I think I'm gonna use my knowledge of magical creatures for other things. Like study them, help them when they are hurt" you chuckle at his face as you explain "and..there's a certain magical creatures Ive got to protect ya know" you say as you put your hand on his cheek. He can't help but crack a smile.

This meant you wanted to pick up exactly were you guys left off 12 years ago.

"I think that's a great idea" he says as he kisses the inside of your palm. later that day you were released from the hospital wing and both you and Remus went to his office to start packing..most of your stuff was in there anyway, you had already let Dumbledore no you'd be resigning to when you left the wing. As you were packing you heard footsteps running to the office and Harry pops in

"please Tell me it's not true.." he seemed outta breath from running all the way here. "say your not resigning"

"ah..I'm sorry Harry. I'm afraid it's true" you say as you lean on the desk

"you can't leave! you have been the best professors we've had!" the way he looked broke your heart.

"the owls go out today about how I'm a werewolf, parents aren't going to be to thrilled about a werewolf teaching there children" lupin says softly too Harry.

You see Harry turn to look at you, desperate for at least you to stayyou walk to him "I've..got to keep an eye on Remus" you whisper with a chuckle "and plus, hagrid is a great teacher, you know that, he doesn't need me. I'm going to go and help magical creatures that need it..."
"you can help them here!" he pleads. You swear you can hear your heart break
So you walk up and hug him. You hug him tight. Harry didn't hesitate to hug you back either. you felt him grip onto your robes. He wasn't crying, but you can tell he didn't want to say this good bye at all.

You were his family and you were leaving, he already can't stay with Sirius, he didn't wanna have to say goodbye to you too.
You got a thought..Harry could live with you. He could come to stay with you, but then you think about Remus..would it be safe for him to stay with you?

"Harry..you can...write to me over the summer. if you need me I will be there quicker than you can say hippogriff. I'll always write back" You smile, you were gonna offer him to stay with you..but you decided against it. you don't know what you'd do if Harry got hurt..

"here... since I no longer I'm a teacher I don't feel bad about giving this back to you" Remus says as you break the hug with Harry. It's the Marauders map.
You slightly smile as Harry takes it and reads the creators of it like his done multiple times. Dumbledore then walks in to tell you that y'all's carriage is ready for you to go. Harry gives you one last look of hope that'll you'll stay but you ruffles his hair "I'll see you again Harry. plus I've gotta lot of birthday to make up for" you chuckle and you and Remus walk out to restart your life's as one.

You had kept your promise, you wrote to Harry almost once a week and he wrote back. He told you everything, even down to the muggles he was staying with. There were a few times you almost went and got him from that hell while, but Harry reassured you that they were scared of you and Sirius so they wouldn't do much.
But one day, as you were reading with Remus, you got a letter from Harry. He was asking if you were going to the world cup. Hmm, you did love quidditch. After all, you were in it for 6 years while in Hogwarts. If Harry was gonna be there, you didn't see whynot.
so you look to Remus "ah..looks like I'm going to the quidditch world cup" you chuckle as you look down at Remus, who was laying on your chest. He puts his book down
"oh?"
you chuckle "mhm, Harry asked me if I was going cuz he was gonna be there" you smile as you keep reading the letter but then your smile fades when you read his written about his scar.
That scare was given to him by the dark Lord..by his magic, so he didn't know what that could mean. You'd have to talk to him about it more that cup. You gave him a quick write back, sent off the owl then went gave you attention back to holding Remus, giving him kisses, a sudden affection modd taking over you. Remus didn't mind at all, he loved when you had these moments. You'd kiss his scars, his face, his shoulders, you'd smother him in kisses. As you kissed the side of his neck, he pushed his back against your chest more
"you know, you should go with me" you say softly

"you know how I am with crowds love, plus, it's to close to a full moon, you know how longs those things can last" he puts his book down.

unfortunately he was right, it was a bit too risky, the last one lasted like 5 days.
The world cup day came quickly, you found yourself already putting up your own tent. As you were doing so, you felt a sudden hug take over. When you look behind you, you see Harry smiling brightly

"Harry!" you say, turning around to hug him. "woah, look at all that hair, I see you've grown it out" you ruffle his hair as he smiles and nods "yeah, trying out the long hair look, is professor lupin here?"
he looks around. "ah, no he's not, it was to close to the full moon" Harry's huffs but soon smiles again, just glad to see you. You see he's with Hermione and Ron too
"I see you've come with the Weasleys" you chuckle "yeah, Ron's dad got me a ticket!" he says excitedly. you smile but you look up to his scar then back at him "Harry, come her for a quick second." he nods and follows you out of ears reach from the other two.
"have you told them, about your scar?" Harry looks to Ron and Hermione before looking back at you and shaking his head no.
You smile, so he's not worried about anything"alright, don't worry about it now, Instead enjoy the games I'll meet you to watch it if Mr Weasley will let me, then a day before Hogwarts how about I pick you up to take you to the station? so stay with me and lupin for a night?" you smile.

Harry smiles and nods quickly "really? I'd love that!" he says excitedly. he'd get to spend time with the Weasleys and his godfather this summer. even if it was at the end of summer, it had been his best one yet.
You let Harry walk off with his friends and you go back to settings up your sleeping place. you go in to write to Remus when your done setting up.

When the match began, you were sitting right next to Harry, Mr Weasleys happily let you sit with them and was thrilled to meet you as Harry proudly introduced you. The game went amazingly too, krum had got the snitch, but the Irish won, you had danced with Harry to celebrate, and he was laughing the whole time. This was all Harry ever wanted, he felt safe with you and he felt like he had a father figure for the first time in his life.
You had walked with him and the Weasleys back to there tent to celebrate, you watched as the Weasley boys danced around and seemed to bully there little brother Ron and you saw Harry join. You let out a chuckle as Ron tried to defend himself.
You mainly sat with aurther and talked about work and kids, you know, like old people do but then something Happend.
You heard screaming from out side and quickly went out to check it out. What you saw made your heart drop. Death eaters.

You and Arthur go back inside, trying to calm down all the boys and Hermione and ginny. You made sure to grab Harry "we've got to go, you stay with the Weasley and stay. together." you told to Harry and the boys.
Arthur tells his boys the same thing before the two of you run off to go help try to get things to settle down. After a bit of going against crowds, trying to calm things down the sky was illuminated with green, and when you looked up, you saw something you haven't seen in 13 years. The dark mark was In the sky.

At this point you didn't care what the death eaters did, you needed to find Harry. if the dark Lord was anywhere around, Harry was in terrible danger. You ran as fast as you legs could take you, looking all around for him, and when you did the ministry was surrounding him and his friends, shooting spells. "STOP! BLODDY HELL STOP" you push some of them out the way, making them stop shooting spells.

You quickly bend down to Harry helping him up "are you alright son? your not hurt are you?" He slowly shakes his head and he seems all shaken up, and aurthur is making sure Ron is okay. When barty accuses Harry of the mark you feel you blood boil. you slightly push him outta Harry's bubble
"they are children!" you snap
"that were at the scene of the crime!" he snaps back

"you really think HARRY POTTER would have anything to do with this?" your voice is dripping with venom and barty doesn't have anything to say.
Harry looks up at you in awe but looks at Hermione as she speaks up, telling the ministry what the three had saw, and where is came from, and they start to bolt off in that direction, hoping to find the culprit.

You turn to look at Harry "I'm glad your okay, follow the Weasleys, you'll go back home with them" You feel him grab your arm "wait, I..let me go with you" You smile softly
"I'll come get you soon harry, you all need to stick together for now, bigger groups are safer right now" you give him a quick hug before when goes back to the Weasley tent. Once you know he's safe, You apperate back to the house. When you do, you see Remus is already waiting for you
"are you okay?!" he runs over to check over you. You saw a news paper has already been printed

"yes, I'm alright. no one was hurt" you smile as you reassure him. "let's..get to bed, it's been a tiring night" you head to your shared room, and Remus quickly follows behind. "oh by the way, we go pick Harry up in a week" you say as you get into bed, not knowing you owl from earlier hasn't arrived yet.

"wait what?"

- a week later, a day before Harry had to be at the station, you went to the burrow to pick Harry up. Mrs. Weasley had greeted you in a big hug saying she was glad Harry had you and that he'll be down in a minute. And he was, he walked down the stairs with all his stuff and smiles when he sees you "ready to go?" he nods and takes his stuff to the chimney so we can go by floor powder
He looks at Ron and Hermione, giving them both hugs and saying he'll see them tomorrow morning, as you walk over to molly "here. these are for Harry's books. Thank you so much for getting them" you handed her a bag of gallons for his books and she tries to Deny them, but you left them on her table. she had been helping Harry for four years now, and you wanted to help.
you were severally greatful, and you know hame and Lily would be too.
after goodbyes were said, if was off to the lupin house. You had Harry had both fallen into the living room after dropping the powder, and you two could help but both laugh as you both lay there, covered In soot.
"so much for clean the floors" you heard a lovely voice say.

You and Harry both look up to see lupin smiling down at the both of you. Harry gets up quickly to give him a hello hug, it was quickly, but it was still a hug "Harry! how have you been, are you alright?" he says as he pats his shoulder. Harry nods and goes to pick up his bags,

"follow me" Remus says. Harry does so, and follows him down a hall, and to a door

you open it and Harry sees a room that was made just for him. there was a place for Hedwig to go, there were poster of the Irish quidditch team and a Gryffindor flag on his wall.
It was Harry's room.
Harry looks at you and Remus and his eyes seemed glossy "does this...are you..-"
"yes Harry. If you want...you can come stay with us from now on" you smile, leaning on his door frame. You heard the thud of Harry dropping his back, then foot steps running.
He almost tackled the two of you in a hug. He was free from the dursleys. for real this time.
He had his own room. He had two people to actually care for him, things were gonna be different.
You both hug Harry back tightly and you all stay like that for awhile. The only thing missing was Sirius. He was apart of this family and he was unfortunately still in hiding.
you'd all fix that soon. or so you thought.

Though, you sent Sirius an owl saying how you wanted to do this, and Sirius was more than thrilled, he wanted you to get Harry to live with you. he knew Harry was safe with you.
The rest of the day went amazingly. Harry had his first real dinner with the two of you and you all then, decided to play a game of exploding snap before Harry had to go to bed.

That night, Harry had went to bed feeling the Happiest he's ever felt. he's had the next best thing to what he desired the most. it may have not been Lily and Jame, but it was a family.
he had a family.
The next day you took him to the Hogwarts Express and waved him off and he waved to you the whole way out the station. You laughed as Hermione had to pull him back in the window and you turned to go back home.

You had no idea what the rest of your life had in store for you.
That year was hectic. Harry almost died in the tournament, people DID die, and worst of all. Voldemort came back.
You brought Harry home at the end of the year and you guys were trying to keep cool, but you could tell Harry was struggling. and the next school year was worse, people didn't even believe Voldemort was back. Things kept going down hill but at least you were still a family right..?

well this brings us to the present. the now. You are currently trying to fight off a death eater in the battle of Hogwarts. You didn't know where Harry was, and you could see Remus start to struggle with all the spells being thrown at him.
You were cut out your thoughts as your wand was struck out your hand, you try to back up, but you trip over some rubble, hitting your head on the way down.
you groan and look up at the wizard above you, he had a cold smile as he pointed his want at you

"CURCIO!"

you felt you while body shoot with pain, it was the worst pain youve ever felt in your life, You let out a blood curling yell, you while body felt like it was ripping itself apart. You struggled on the ground, squirming around, trying to find anyway to get it to stop, but you were stuck.
You felt yourself getting weaker and weaker as the pain kept getting stronger. You screamed Remus name, you wanted him. you want him to hold you and make all your problems go away.
You felt yourself slipping, and you made sure your last thought would be Harry and Remus.

Then it stopped. Your body was released from the spell. You couldn't open your eyes though, so you just listen. Remus had struck the wizard down and ran over to you. he puts your head in his lap and you can feel tears land on your face

"love...love wake up, it's okay, I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner, please wake up" he sobs. You've never heard Remus cry like this, the desperation and hurt in his voice
"think of Harry! the family we had! you can't do this!" he yells slightly. You tried to open your eyes, but you couldn't. You started to think you wouldn't make it out of this one, you feel him grab your hand and you use your last bit of strength to squeeze his hand..but then you go limp and everything goes black. Remus felt you go limp in his arms.

You didn't make it, he saw as your face started to go pale. Remus let out the most pain scarems any one has ever heard. though unfortunately, a death eater took his moments of weakness for granted. The most unforgettable curse was shouted and everything went silent for Remus, things went dark and he didn't even feel his head hit the ground and he feels next to you.

You would never know it, but Harry had to see his two parents figures dead that day. both lifeless body's moves to cots. You were next to eachother, hands out reached to eachother but not quite touching.
You'd never know about the tears that flowed out of Harry eyes as he scream for losing his second god father. Memories of you flashed through his brain, from meeting when he was 13 to dancing for the Irish win, to his birthdays having a big celebration from 14 and on, from the Christmas's and girl problems he told you about.
All of it till this very moment.
This is when Harry saw red.
he was going to put an end to this. You had opened you eyes and all you saw was white. you slowly say up to see a white room...you thought you were alone till you heard your name.
You saw Remus. You quickly got up and ran to him, wrapping your arms tightly around him holding him close you you "I, I tried to wake up, I didnt mean to slip, I didn't want to leave you or Harry i- wait...if your here we.." your heart drops when you realized you've both left Harry.
Remus looks at you and nods, already knowing what your thinking. You go in for another hug and you worry for Harry but you hear you name. Your nick name.

"moony! small foot! over here" you knew that voice. You haven't heard it in a very long time. You look to see James smiling and next to him was Sirius and lilly. You and Remus both gain big smiles and run quickly to your friends. You hug all three of them

"James! Lily! oh my god, it's..HI" You yell excitedly and you see padfoot huff "nice to see you too"

"hey, it saw you like a year ago, I haven't seen them in 17"
You all chuckle a bit but you feel Lily hug you, she had her head on your chest and she seems to be crying.
"thank you...thank you so much."

this confused you "f..for?"

James smiles "you both took care of Harry like he was your own son. we couldn't thank you enough."
You look down to lilly and hug her tight "of course."

Sirius speaks up "meaning we have someone else to take care, of and someone who's been dying to meet us all" they step out the way to reveal a red head.
you were staring at Fred Weasley.

you heart aches knowing he didn't make it, that George was still walking around alive with out his other half, but then Fred started to speak

"you guys...YOU GUYS ARE THE MARAUDERS" he says excitedly like he's just met a celebrityYou and all chuckle and talk with him about things you've done and Fred can't believe he was taught by to of you once.
But after a while you hear James speak up "Harry needs us.
Harry has his eyes closed, he was all alone with the first snitch. he had his fist closed tight and when he opened them there you were.

You, Remus, Sirius, Lily and James.

all looking at him. lilly hold out her arm for him and he tries to grab it but can't.

"you are so brave sweetheart.." Lily says softly

"why are you here...all of you" he looks around at you guys

"we never left" Lily smiles

Harry then walks to Sirius "does...it hurt? dying?"

"quicker than falling asleep.."

"youre nearly there son" James pipes in but this seem to get to Harry.

"I'm sorry..I never wanted any of you to die for me.."
He looks to his mother and father but them looks at you and Remus and you can see him tear up. so you took the opportunity to say something
"I'd do it over and over again.."
Harry had to look away for a moment or he would cry. he then looks to all of you "you'll stay with me?"

James smiles "till the end"

"and he won't be able to see you?" he ask and Sirius shake his head "no...were here you see" he points to Harry's heart
Harry looks for a moment before turning to his mother but talking to everyone "stay close to me"

Lily gave him a soft look a smiles her comforting motherly smile.
"always."

And with that, Harry went and did what he needed to do to save the wizarding world. With you and everyone he's loved and lost by his side till the end.
You were proud of the boy he became. he saved everyone and kept you all close to him and carried on all your stories. you were proud of the man he became.

You were proud to once be his Uncle small foot.
