When Petunia Dursley found her orphaned nephew on her doorstep on a cold November morning, her first thought was that the child could have caught anything from spending the night outside. For this reason, she segregated her nephew from her son, placing him in the guest room instead of having him share Dudley's nursery. By the time the pediatrician had given him a clean bill of health and everything had been sorted out regarding Harry, including a generous allowance which allowed her to purchase things for him and open a bank account for him same as Dudley had, he had been sleeping in his room, the former guest room, for almost a month and Petunia, a woman of routine, was hesitant to move him. It helped that not having a guest room meant that Vernon's sister Marge would not be able to visit though she did send presents for the boys, in the form of swimming lessons for the new year because Petunia had nothing else to do with her life than take two toddlers to a weekly swim class though at least it wasn't a puppy.
Work had become busy for Vernon shortly after Harry arrived so he and Petunia didn't get a chance to discuss him until after Christmas. By then, Dudley was used to having his quiet cousin around and had actually improved his development for his age group due to having a similar in age playmate. Vernon had been very proud of this, though privately Petunia felt herself being judged by the pediatrician for not having socialised her son enough. As such, the conversation related to Harry was quite different than it could have gone.
"I don't see why you've created a normal bank account for the boy." Said Vernon, while going over Harry's documents. "Shouldn't we put the rest of his money back in his kind's bank? And speaking of his kind, what do we do when he starts practicing it."
"I'm hoping that him being raised by normal people will teach him to be normal. Right now I haven't seen any instances of it so hopefully he's normal. Besides, he'll need money to go to college and start his life as an adult and clearly my sister had no sense, these people are sending £5000 a month, for a toddler and the amount is supposed to increase as he grows."
Vernon gasped. "That money could be put away and gain so much interest for his life. We don't even spend that much on the entire family in a month. For now, continue as you are but if he shows any symptoms of it we can revisit this conversation. £5000 a month is enough money that we can send him off to a good boarding school, I won't have it in my home Pet."
With both Dursleys in agreement, they treated Harry like a part of the family, treating him the same as Dudley because it was abnormal to treat children differently, though they did let up on spoiling the children, saving it only for special occasions.

As the years passed, Harry grew into a sweet boy who, while not as big or strong as his cousin, was fiercely protective of him nonetheless and Vernon grew more accepting of him as he showed no signs of it. When his eleventh birthday passes with no letters from his kind, Vernon and Petunia quietly scrambled to find Harry a good boarding school to attend, finally settling on one in Switzerland as Smeltings was full. By then, Harry's allowance had grown to £15,000 a month and while most was being saved in an account for when the boy became an adult, it was more than enough to send him to a school that would allow him to do his extreme sports hobbies while still teaching him all the useful skills a proper man needed to live.
