Proposal gone wrong
Orion throw the glass of Fire Whiskey he was drinking to Tom Riddle.
The jerk just avoided it and sat down in the chair he had just vacated.
-What's wrong with you Riddle!!!-
-Hadrian had the right to know Orion-
-There is nothing to know!!, you interfered in my affairs and ruined my marriage proposal-
Tom pretended to wipe lint off his pants before crossing his legs and staring at me.
-I didn't ruin anything, I just told my cousin that you and Abraxas are a package deal, that you can't live without each other. You didn't think I was going to let my only family member enter into a marriage without having all the information on all the parties involved, right? -
-Are you sure that's what it is? Or are you just jealous that someone else loves your cousin?-
Tom gave me a cocky smile and got up from the couch heading to the fireplace.
- You can think what you want Orion, at the end of the day I am not the one who lost Hadrian-
With those last words he entered the chimney and went to Diagonal Alley.
I let out a sob. Four years before I had lost the love of my life, I couldn't stop Abraxas from marrying Cedrella. I had to watch him marry her, and I was forbidden to speak or approach him, all because his father was expecting an heir for the Malfoy family and I could ruin the plans.
Among all my pain of seeing the person I loved marry someone else I found Hadrian, he was a balm for the wounds left by Abraxas, so much so that I fell madly in love with him.
I have never been unfaithful to him, I have always loved him without comparing him to Abraxas, because they are complete opposites, which is one of the reasons why I felt attracted to him.
That's why after two years of dating I was encouraged to ask him to marry her. Everything had gone perfect, dinner at Hadrian's favorite restaurant, the walk in the park that he always likes to take after dinner.
I had already asked him to marry me and he had agreed, I had just put the engagement ring on his finger when Tom arrived to ruin everything.
He showed Hadrian all the information regarding my relationship with Abraxas, photos, documents and everything he could find placed in a folder.
Hadrian's face had gone completely blank as he read the information.
In the end he just stared at Tom and told him he had something to do.
I didn't have time to give him any explanation, he simply disappeared and I haven't heard from him in three weeks. Lucretia had tried to intervene but seeing me heartbroken she only told Kreatcher to keep me fed.
I didn't even know what bottle number it was in today.
-Orion!!!, Where are you?!-
I spilled the drink I was drinking on myself when I heard Hadrian's voice. He slammed the door to my room and stopped dead when he saw the state I was in.
-But what? Orion!, why are you drinking in the middle of the day?!, and why haven't you opened the windows? The room smells horrible!-
Hadrian entered the room at a determined pace and began to open the windows and tidy up.
-Didn't you break up with me?- Hadrian stopped what he was doing and turned to look at me.
-What gave you that idea, love? I couldn't help but let out a sob of relief at his words.
-The day I asked you to marry me, after Tom arrived with the information about Abraxas, you left without letting me explain anything-
Because I was so drunk I couldn't contain my tears of relief and sadness that I had been holding back for three weeks.
- No no no no, love, as soon as I left I sent a Patronus to Tom to tell you that I was going to be busy collecting information, didn't he tell you anything?- I shook with my head and Hadrian started cursing Tom. He sat on my lap and held my face in his hands, while he kissed me all over my face.
-Darling, I knew that you are in love with Abraxas-
I tensed hearing his words.
- Why do you think I always tried to talk to him, I know that you are a package deal and that no matter how many years you haven't seen each other, you still love him.-
I began to sob harder upon hearing what Hadriane sat saying.
-That's why I left that day love, Tom found the missing piece. We have been investigating his parents and his wife, because my engagement gift to you is going to be to get Abraxas to divorce the despicable Cedrella.-
I held my breath and looked into his eyes without fully understanding what he was saying.
-But what are you talking about?-
- My beloved, I always felt attracted to you and Abraxas, and I was not going to allow Cedrella to take my future husbands away from me. So with the help of my cousin I collected all the dirt I could on her and Abraxas' parents.-
Seeing the smile take over Hadrian's face I couldn't help but feel hopeful.
- Do you know that there is a fidelity clause in the contract they signed when they got married? -
Seeing me nod, he continued with his story
- It turns out that Cedrella has had an endless number of lovers, very discreet of course, but Tom and I found them, so I spent three weeks tracking each one of her lovers and getting signed confessions of when, how and where they had met her. So yesterday I went to the Malfoy mansion and presented everything to Abraxas's parents. Seeing all this they agreed to divorce them.-
-But that doesn't mean they're going to try to marry Abraxas to someone else-
Hadrian just looked at me indulgently and continued talking.
-Tom found that a few years ago a couple of wizards and Muggles had disappeared in the town next to the Malfoy property, so we encouraged them to stop interfering in Abraxas's life if they didn't want to have the Aurors at their doors with a search warrant for the property, because I say a family as old as theirs must have very dark secrets buried in there-
I adjusted myself a little in the chair, trying not to let Hadrian notice how excited I was getting when I heard what he was saying. It shouldn't be so seductive to hear him ruin people's lives.
Hadrian smirked at me and kissed me passionately.
-So I've already done half the work love, now you and Abraxas must take me on dates and so on in gratitude for all my work for two years to be able to be together-
- But what will happen to the heirs that Abraxas needs? - I asked him between kisses. Hadrian smiled enigmatically.
- I found a potion in the Peverell Grimore that is the solution to that insignificant detail. Just take care of agreeing with Abraxas on which days we will have our dates, and I want another proposal from both of you, of course I will keep the ring, but it doesn't count, my cousin ruined the moment-
I couldn't agree more with him.
-I love you-
- I love you too Orion, never think otherwise-
