‘Test’

Kaminari was running, his vision was foggy, it was rainy and cold. His hair soaked, and his clothes dripping. He was panting as his bare feet splash in puddles, punctured with small rocks. The puddles had the moon's reflection, rippling with every step. As he ran, he peaked over his shoulder to see if it was still there, the dark abyss that seemed to resemble a running human being. As he turned back to continue running, everything around him shook, the puddles, cars, buildings, even the ground. Then his eyes shoot open, his body launching up into a sitting position. His breath was shaky, and heavy. He quickly looked around, noticing his best friend beside him. Kiri was standing there, his hands still on Kami's shoulders though he had stopped shaking him as soon as Kami sat up.

"Kamibro, we're going to be late! Come on, get ready! We have a test in English!" Kirishima said, a worried look all over his face. His eyebrows were furrowed, his mouth only slightly open.

"Shit! Fuck fuck... I forgot today was Wednesday. Go, I'll be there soon!" the electric blonde responded, quickly getting up and shooing Kiri out the door, shutting it behind him. 'Fuck... I am not ready for this test.' He got dressed as quickly as he could, brushing his teeth in a half-assed manner. He put deodorant on, grabbed his bag, and ran out the door.

He made it to class on time, just barely. After a few steps into the classroom the bell rang. He quickly sat down, and Kiri high-fived him for making it on time, but people kept giving Kami strange looks, as if there was something on his face. He looked around, then felt his face for something people could be staring at. He quickly realized he still had his glasses on. He always wore his contacts around people. He hastily took off his glasses and put them in his hoodie pocket. He put his right elbow on the desk, leaning his head into it, closing his right eye as he does so.

"Okay class. We'll be having a test today. I hope you didn't forget to study." Aizawa announced, his voice firm.

Mineta speaks up, "Yeah, Kaminari. Hope you didn't forget to study~" his tone was teasing, obviously trying to make fun of Kami for his grades. The blonde boy laughed awkwardly, trying to hide the embarrassment and hurt he felt  by the comment. Mineta and some of the other students start to laugh before Aizawa tells the class to quiet down. The teenagers who were now loud and joking around about Kaminari's stupidity, slowly go silent, facing forwards in their seats as the teacher handed out the tests.

After the teacher handed out the test he stood up at the front of the classroom, closed his eyes as he sighed. He opened his eyes after a short moment and gave the regular test speech, "Alright, you know the drill. No phones should be out, no talking, no passing notes, and if you have a question, don't bother. I'll be asleep. Are there any questions before the test starts?" Mineta raised his hand to ask a question.

"No questions?" Aizawa asks, his eyes avoiding Mineta purposefully, as the teacher's eyes scan the room. His gaze hopping over the short boy.

Mineta's hand waved in the air, his arm extending as high as he could bring it, "I have a question, Aizawa Sensei!"

Aizawa sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose as he closes his eyes. "What is your question?" He looked up from over his hand, bringing his arm down.

Mineta finally puts his arm down, shaking it out. "Can people get extra help on the test?"

"If you're speaking of yourself, no," Mineta made a sound that was half sigh and half scoff. "The people that are able to get extra help know who they are. If you need it, you can speak with me later."

"Maybe Denki should get extra help. He doesn't seem to be doing well. Right Denki?" Mineta said, his gaze switching from Aizawa to Kaminari.

"Right... I'm so dumb!" Kami said cheerfully, smiling and laughing at Mineta's remark, despite feeling the opposite on the inside. Most laugh at the comment before Aizawa shuts them up.

"Alright. Everyone knock it off. Get to work. The tests should be graded by tomorrow, if not, then certainly by Friday." The teacher was more annoyed now, glaring at the students. Everyone collectively got quiet, quickly picked up their pencils and started working. Kami did the same, except after writing his name he stared at the paper, eyes shifting around at the letters that looked as if they were dancing on the page. They were flipping and turning, merging, making it nearly impossible to read it. He leaned further into his hand, pulling at the hair on his scalp. 'For once... let me read, brain. It's not that much to ask. God, I hate this...' he thought to himself, his eyes closing as he continued to pull his own hair. He groans and crosses his arms on his desk, dropping his head into them. 'This is a nightmare...'

He lifted his head back up and tried to figure out what some questions said. Tapping his fingers on the desk and shaking his leg as he did. He twirled his hair in his hands, gazing around at the others every once in a while. One by one, people started to finish up and bring their papers up to the bin. He tried his best and when he finished, he looked up, to see everyone else done, and on their phones. He stood up and went to the front of the room. He set his paper down in a small bin in the front of the room and sat back down. He then went on his phone as well, plugging his headphones into it. He put on his liked playlist on Spotify. The music was loud enough for just the people around him to hear able to hear some bits and pieces of it. He grabs out his notebook and doodles in it. Letting the music guide his drawings, his pencil glides across the paper in an almost majestic way. The notebook was filled to the brim with doodles from day after day of classes he hated, with work he hated even more than the lectures given.

He took the hair tie he always had on his wrist and tied his hair back, long enough to create a little ponytail in the back. A few stray strands at the front fall to his forehead. It framed his already bright facial features. His yellow hair complimented his bright, golden eyes.

The song Bath Salts by Highly Suspect starts to play. Despite the language difference, he understood the song. Letting it drive his hand around the paper to create something of a creepy drawing. As he continued to draw, it felt like time slowed down for him.

Class ended and he was still sitting there, doodling away. Todoroki goes up to him and taps his shoulder. Making Kaminari turn around and pull the headphones down to hang around his neck. You could hear the music, just barely. He closed his notebook with the pencil still inside it to keep his spot.

"Yeah, Todobro? Do you need something?"

"Class ended. I was wondering if you knew. You didn't move." His voice was monotone, as usual. His face showed little to no expression as he talked. Had he not showed anger while talking to or about his father, you'd think the guy had no emotions at all.

"Oh," he looks around, seeing no one except Todoroki. "I didn't, thank you!" Kami gives a smile to Shoto before standing up and packing his stuff away. "How do you think you did on the test, Todoroki?" He started walking, looking back at Shoto to make sure he followed. To which he did, making Kami slow down to let him catch up, then speed back up to meet Shoto's speed.

"Well, but I could have done better. How do you think you did?" He seemed that he was just asking because Kami asked to be polite, no real curiosity behind his voice.

"I think I did great!" He smiles brightly, doing his signature 2 thumbs up move as they both continue to walk to their next class.

"That's good. Okay, see you later, Kaminari." He said in response before walking away to his desk. Kaminari waved to him, and then at his friends. He went over and sat on Kirishima's desk, directly across from Sero, who was on Bakugo's desk. Kirishima and Bakugo were both in their real seats. Mina was leaning against her own desk facing them. Jiro was sitting with Yao Momo and her friends today. But that didn't stop most of the people in their group from trying to talk to her. The only thing that happened when they tried was Jiro getting embarrassed and turning away from them. Her ears flushing a light pink.

"Alright everyone, listen up!" Ectoplasm—the math teacher—said as he walked in, and stood before the class. Forcing everyone to go quiet and turn to him. "It has come to my attention that we have a facility meeting today. That means there will be a substitute, and it will be a study hall. Use it however you please, but don't disturb the other classes."

They had already started talking about how they thought they did on the test. When Kami got there, he decided to contribute to the conversation by agreeing that he thought he did well. After that conversation died down, it was quiet, and awkward. For a few minutes, nobody spoke. The only noises were two boys—Kirishima and Kaminari, trying not to laugh as they stare at each other.

After a bit of the silence and slight giggling taking over, Sero spoke up. "So," he paused to let the rest of the squad turn their heads to look at him. "You guys wanna come to my dorm after school?"

"Sure! Movie night?" Mina blurted out excitedly.

"Yeah, we should do a movie night!" The electric blonde added, seeming just as excited as the pink haired girl before him.

"Tch. Whatever. You guys are lame. I only go to your stupid movie nights because soy sauce face had good taste in movies." Bakugo responded, not very enthusiastic.

"Aw, don't be such a bum Bakubro!" Kirishima says, elbowing him in the arm playfully. "I'm totally in for a movie night!"

"Wait, Bakugo you like my taste in movies? That's so kind of you!" Sero teased.

"Oh, shut up tape face!" Bakugo yelled, glaring at him from across the desks.

"Okay, okay! Sorry. Kami or Mina, do you want to invite Jiro over for us?" The black-haired boy asks, eyes switching between the both of them.

To which both reply, "Sure!" In unison.

Sero starts, "Great! Kiri, bring snacks. Mina, bring skin care and stuff. Kami, bring games. Bakugo, bring blankets and pillows—."

"Don't tell me what to do, tape face!" Bakugo yelled, putting his hands out like he would to use his quirk. To which Sero responds with pushing them out of the way. Making Bakugo more annoyed than before as he shoves his hands into his pockets.

"Right. Sure Bakugo." He says, not impressed, "and Jirou can bring whatever she wants. If anyone else wants to bring other stuff, feel free." Hanta stated to which everyone besides Bakugo nods in agreement.

"You're just going to ignore me?! You're going to regret that, soy-" Bakugo advised, getting cut off by the bell.

"Would you look at that. Saved by the bell. Bye, guys! Bye, Bakugo!" Sero quickly got up and left with his things piled neatly in his arms, his slightly opened bag carrying the rest of the stuff. Everyone else followed him as well

In Kaminari's next class he fell asleep almost immediately. History has always been his least favorite subject by far, with English and Japanese being tied for second place. He would've skipped, but Bakugo would never let that go. Bakugo being mad at him is like hell on earth since he is Kaminari's best friend next to Kirishima. Not to mention, when he's mad he goes all out. At the end of class, the bell made the boy jolt from his slumber, as he had gotten startled by it. He hurriedly packed to leave for his next class.

'Jesus this day ever end?' He thought to himself as he yawned and walked to his next class. Hero lessons were up next. He usually didn't mind that class, but fuck was he tired today. As he got to class, and sat down, he found himself watching the clock. Minute by minute, tick by tick, the clock started moving. Each minute felt like an hour, waiting for every tick of the clock hands. Ever since he had actually plans after school, it started to feel like the day never ended. He doodled and slept for the rest of his classes for the day to pass time. The more he drew or slept, the faster time would go.

Now that plans had been made, time temporarily slowed to the pace of a baby snail.

'Last period, thank god.' Kaminari's last period was an elective. He takes art as an elective, which had been the only class he'd actually participated in today. Last period was the only one that varied between the class 1-A's children, as people picked different things.

That class felt like it ended in 2 minutes, given how sucked into the art project he was. The only class that felt short was the one he enjoyed the most. The bell rings, gets up, practically running out of the classroom. 'Finally. Now to get the bin ready!' He thought to himself, an ecstatic feeling through him at the thought of hanging out with his friends the whole night.
