Team ZIT shenanigans

Zedaph, Impulse and Tango never actually mean to cause trouble, trouble just finds them. It is not their fault they got curious about certain aspects of Hogwarts. I mean, why would they have a sky ceiling if they wanted nobody to investigate? It is not their fault that, in the process of finding out how exactly said ceiling worked, they burned all the tables in the Great Hall to ashes.

Maybe that one was their fault… throwing torches at the ceiling might not have been that great of an idea.

But the point still stands; team ZIT only cause accidental trouble.

It all started on the train heading towards Hogwarts…

Impulse had arrived quite early and managed to claim a compartment all for himself, when Tango and Zed literally fell into his compartment yelling something about how trains should lose their centrifugal force. Impulse snickered at the two causing them to notice him.

“Hi there, you’re first years too?” the two nodded from the ground and the blonde rolled off of the gingerish blonde. But when they finally stood again, the train made a turn causing them to fall over once again. Never had Impulse laughed harder than at this moment. It was the moment he knew that these two idiots would stick.

Later that night, at the sorting ceremony, they stood side by side, only to be sorted in three different houses; Impulse got in Hufflepuff, Tango in Slytherin and Zedaph in Gryffindor. But this would not stop them; the inevitable force of the ZIT team was born.

What a great moment that had been, Impulse reminisced as he made his way to the empty classroom on the fourth floor that they had claimed theirs (no one would even dare to come close considering Team ZIT’s reputation). The room held many memories for them, both loving and unfortunate ones from the rare occasions they ever had a fight. This was the room where it happened. (Burr would be jealous)

Zed and Tango were already there, Zedaph just having explained this week's herbology theory to Tango (one of the rare subjects the gingerish blonde struggled with). Team ZIT were top of their classes and were even on OWL level in charms, transfiguration and potions despite only being third years.

Tonight was their weekly meeting where they would make plans about their next ‘project’. This time's topic: time.

Professor Flitwick had emphasised on many occasions not to mess with the delicate fragment of reality, but it was not like they were going to use time turners and kill themselves was it?

It would just be a harmless experiment to test how the clocks of Hogwarts worked, how strong the charms were and if there were any loopholes in said charms. If anything they were doing Hogwarts a favour.

“Impulssseee! Zed’s torturing meeeee.” Tango cried out as soon as Impulse entered the room.

“I was just asking if you have ever heard a mandrake scream, that’s not torture!” Impulse snickered at his friends' antics.

“I think that Tango has never heard a mandrake scream.” Zed looked dumbfounded. “How?” Gosh, for a brain as genius as Zed’s, it sure had its moments.

“The mandrake’s scream is deadly.” Impulse pointed out and Zed let out a little “o”.

“See! He was torturing me!” Tango butted in. “I wasn’t torturing you! I was threatening you unbeknownst to myself! Gosh, looks like Impulse’s got the braincell this time.”

“What do you mean ‘this time’? I always have the braincell.” Impulse retorted.

“Fair enough.” Tango shrugged. “But meeting guys! I have an amazing idea, wait till you hear this,-” and so Tango explained his plan for the week: turning the clocks of Hogwarts one hour back.

“- and then it will just breakaficate for an hour and we just wait till someone notices, maybe even up it over time!” Tango finished explaining. The entire blackboard he had been using was covered in white scribbles of formulas and spells, the desk in front of him was full of books and Zed was basically vibrating on the couch while Impulse tried not to get irritated by said shaking couch.

“You in?”

“Oh absolutely!” Zed grinned and the couch shook even harder, making Impulse grit his teeth.

“Impy?”

“I guess so? We need to be careful though, time isn’t something you mess with and walk away from.” And Impulse knew from experience…

His mother, Cassiopeia Black, had been a vain woman obsessed with her looks and maintaining the pureblood line. When he was seven, the woman bought herself a book full of beauty spells in Knockturn Alley. Save to say that that had gone horribly wrong and resulted in her being admitted to St Mungo’s and eventually her passing two years later.

He was still conflicted with his feelings towards her. Yes, she had been his mother, but a terrible one at that. She did not care for him like she told others she was. They were only her ‘pride’, because she had given birth to two boys of the purest blood possible; Skizz and him.

No, time was not something for him.

It was why he was now staring exasperated at his two friends, who he went to watch the clocks with and whose hands were covered in ink by now. Surely two parchment rolls of information about the gigantic clock was enough? This did not even include the information still resting in the books Tango had found. And it was getting cold, he was shivering.

Impulse sighed, why were these two his friends again?

“Hey guys,” nothing, “hey, imma head back now?” Again nothing.

“Yeah, I’ll just… look into the books you found where it's cosy…and warm. Maybe make a stop at the kitchen for some warm choccy milk.” No reaction. Oh well, he was getting choccy milk and they were not. Their loss.

Their information gathering (montage) lasted about nine days. Mainly because Impulse was adamant on checking every last detail to make sure that it did not harm them, or anyone else for that matter. But after all that it was finally time to get this show on the road.

It was three o’clock in the morning on Saturday the ninth of november when team ZIT quietly roamed the halls towards the big clocks of Hogwarts. And it was, again, three o’clock when their mission had succeeded.

That morning at breakfast professor McGonagall remarked to professor Flitwick that it had been a long time since team ZIT had done anything and professor Dumbledore commented about how professor Snape looked so very well rested.

Little did they know what had happened during the night ;)
