Chapter 18
On Sunday Harry insisted they had to go shopping and how is Draco supposed to say no with reasoning like, “Come shopping with me,” and “Draco, Draco, Draco, Draco,”.
So Harry apparated them both to Hogsmade and dragged him along to the little grocery store. The lighting inside was dim and It was mostly deserted. Harry sent a wide grin to the cashier who blushed and looked away. Draco couldn’t blame her but it doesn’t mean he was happy about it.
Harry spent the entirety of their trip talking about the next meal he was going to make and promised Draco it wouldn’t be nearly as spicy this time. He also grabbed a new bottle of fire whisky and some ingredient for treacle tart.
“That’ll be 15 galleons,” Harry happily supplied the money and Draco couldn’t help but glare at the woman, who didn’t seem to notice his aggression in the slightest.
As Harry started to pull Draco out of the store the woman called out, “Um, I usually work tuesdays and thursdays, I’m covering my friends shift, I wouldn’t be all that mad if you visited?”
Draco turned his head and channeled all of his 12 year old self into a single glare. The woman immediately went pale and stared down at her lap.
Harry on the other hand blatantly ignored her which made something in Draco light up.
As they walked out of the store they ran into Jamie Smoul and Otis Juniper who upon seeing them completely stopped all conversation and stared at them. Draco felt this was reasonable as Harry was still clutching his hand and seemed entirely non-plussed by the situation. Draco on the other hand could not manage nearly as much nonchalance and felt himself turn into a blushing mess.
“Oh Ms. Smoul, Mr. Juniper,” Harry greeted when Draco just couldn’t fathom using the english language, “I don’t remember first years being allowed to come to Hogsmade?”
“Well we didn’t come alone so it’s not like it’s unsafe,” Ms. Smoul tried to argue, “We’re with Franny,”
Draco finally collects his thoughts, “Then where is Ms. Hudds,”
“At Honeydukes?” Otis scratches the back of his neck.
“Are you asking me?” Draco asks with a raised eyebrow.
Otis shakes his head, “No sir,”
Harry gives his hand a brief squeeze, “Go back to Hogwarts”
They turn and sprint away but as they leave Draco could swear he heard them mutter, ‘Is that confirmation?’

Harry decided that it’d be a waste of a trip to just go back to Hogwarts so he decided to get tea.
“Where’s the best place for tea?” Harry asked Draco, he seems like the type to know a good tea shop.
Draco was staring down at something and the question startled him, “Oh theres a lovely little place just down there,”
Draco pointed a little down the way where students enjoying their sunday were milling about. Draco guided Harry right past them and to a tea shop with a bright exterior that contrasted the darker buildings that surrounded it. Even just walking in, Harry could smell the quality in the tea they were serving.
Draco smiles lightly at the person working the counter who returns it and god he’s just so pretty. Draco ends up ordering something that Harry can’t pronounce and Harry ends up ordering earl grey with a bit of honey.
“Would you like any pastries with that gentlemen?”
Harry looks towards Draco who smiles at him for a moment before turning his attention back to the person at the counter, “A blueberry scone and a lemon danish,”
“Okay and a name for your order?”
“Draco,” Draco trys to say but Harry interrupts him.
“Harry is much easier to spell use mine,” the barista goes to put his name on the cup but Draco butts in.
“Yeah but I’m paying so you really ought to put mine down,” He reasons.
“No you’re not,” Harry objects.
Draco crosses his arms over his chest, “You already paid for groceries,”
“But it was my idea to have tea,” Harry argues.
The barista watches the two quarrel and starts to make their order, not that either of them really noticed.
Draco looks like he’s running out of arguments, “I stole your band tee let me make it up to you,”
“Oh I really don’t mind that it’s cute on you-” Harry cuts himself off and trys not to over think the blush appearing on Draco face, “Anyways I can afford it,”
“Are you implying I can’t?” Draco raises his eyebrows and blinks.
“No of course not,” Harry puts both hands up and backs up a little.
Draco pays.

Alfie didn’t mean to watch the couple, but really they were hard to ignore. The two never even told them which name to put on the order, Alfie was very tempted to just shout, ‘aye you gay people,’ but thats probably unprofessional, so instead they said “Harry and Draco,” which they responded to just as well.
rr got up to grab it which Draco didn’t make a fuss about instead messing with the sleeve of his shirt which was just a long sleeved band tee, probably the very one he had mentioned earlier to evoke the comment from Harry.
Harry was looking at Draco with such unbridled adoration that it was starting to make Alfie a little sick.
“It’s cold as Merlins balls, I’m not sure why you wore that,” Harry sits down next to Draco instead of on the other side of the booth.
Because he wants you, for Merlins sake.
“Because style, something you wouldn’t understand.” Draco says snootly.
Harry raises an eyebrow, “That’s my shirt.”
“And it looks better on me,”
“I already agreed with that.” Harry says with confidence that is so obviously false.
Draco goes a vibrant red and steals some of the scone that Harry had chose for himself.

Draco’s going to die. How can Harry so casually say stuff like that. Merlin at this point he doesn’t even need a jacket, not with the way his face was heating up.
Harry grins at him and Draco thinks that not the only reason he’s not going to need a jacket, what with being so close to the sun.
“We should go to the moives after this,” Harry suggests.
“Your laptops at home?” Draco raises an eyebrow.
“Well thers something called a movie theater and I think you’ll like it quite a lot,” Harry blinks and the mirth is gone from his face, “I haven’t been, but it reallty does sound nice.”
What remains unspoken is the reason.
“Well then let’s finish up our tea and then we can head out.” Draco shoves his lemon danish in his mouth and starts to drink the tea.
