Chapter 4
Harry looked carefully at his options, if he selected one the Sorting Hat in a monotonus voice told him the advantages and disadvantages of each house.
Griffindor gave +4 RES, +4 STR, easier to learn transformation and unlocked wandless fire magic for free, but -3 INT, -3 WIS and more difficult to learn potions and dark magic. Per character lever an extra point in STR and one less point in INT.
Hufflepuff gave +2 CRE, earth wandless magic and easier to lean herbology and healing, but more dificult to learn dark magic.
Ravenclaw gave +4 INT, +4 WIS, air wandless magic and easier to learn charms and dueling, but -2STR, -2RES, -2CRE and more dificult to learn transformation. Per character lever an extra point in INT and one less point in STR.
Slytherin gave, +2 INT, +2 CRE, +2 DEX, +2 WIS, easier to learn potions, dark magic and mind magic, and water wandless magic, but -3STR, -3RES and more dificult to learn light magic, transformation and DADA. Per character lever an extra point in WIS and one less point in INT.
They would affect his stats, his higher stats were in STR, RES and DEX, so he decided that while he would have wanted to go to the same house his parents had been, it would not be his best choice. Harry believed that it would be better to have more balanced stats.
Slytherin was out even before chequink what it could offer, he wasn't going to the same house that Draco Malfoy and the wizard that had killed his parents.
And while Ravenclaw would be his best bet to balance quicklier his stats, Harry didn't feel that he would have a good time at the house. They looked to be the type of study all the time and not doing much else. He had seen some of the kids at that house with books already on their hands, and the term hadn't even started!. So he decided after carefull consideration to not go there.
That left him with Hufflepuff. It was the house with less bonus, but it had the less disadvantages. He would only get +2 CRE and nothing else, which sounded right for the house of hardwork, if you wanted to get better you had to earn it on your own. He wasn't sure about the earth magic, but easier time to learn healing magic sounded to be usefull in the future.
After a lot of consideration Harry selected Hufflepuff as his house, and hoped that Ron would continued to be his friend if he ended in Griffindor as the rest of his family.

When Harry finnished reading everything it was finally Ron's turn. After a couple of minutes, which felt like an eternity Ron joined him with a big smile. In the Griffindor table, three redhead looked surprised, but when Ron looked at them they smiled at him, his older brother even looked proud at his choice.
After a heavy dinner, and a badly sang song, the students were leaded to their common rooms and soon everyone was sleeping in their bed. Harry couldn't feel happier, his first friend was in Hufflepuff too, he thought that he will be able to made friends there and he felt really wellcomed by all the upper years, a girl named Tonks had even entertained the first years at dinner changing her hair and her nose into different animals.
And he had even completed some of the tasks of the new mission at dinner, Harry though that in other houses it would have been more difficult. He was half way through level 10 now, at 500/1000 exp to level up. Harry last thought before falling sleep were he had made a great choice.
