Arrival
Percy:
The demigods had been laughing and joking around the whole train ride but the wizard trio had sat there mostly in silence, only talking to whisper to each other. And that worries Percy, he was sure that the wizards didn't trust them, but he didn't understand why. Were all wizards this mistrusting? Hecate hadn't told them anything about the wizarding world, as she called it, except blessing us with the knowledge of spells that a seventh year should have apparently. Percy didn't feel any different, but then again he had done weirder things. Like getting the Achilles Heel, he still thought that wearing sandals was a stupid thing to do. His thoughts are getting off track again, dam ADHD.
Percy is pulled from his thoughts by an unnecessarily hard smack to the head.
"Percy! Percy! Di Immortales," Annabeth huffed in exasperation, "We're here."
He looked out of the window and saw a massive castle, wow, bet Annabeth loves the architecture.
For the second time in two minutes, he is pulled back to reality by an unnecessarily hard smack and a tug on the arm this time too! He feels so lucky (note the sarcasm).
"I'm coming! I'm coming calm down Annie."
"Don't call me Annie!" Annabeth glares daggers at him.
"Sorry, Wise Girl," he kisses her head and they get off the train, dressed in their robes.
"Shut up Seaweed Brain," but he can see her blushing and he smiles.
They meet up with everyone else next to a really tall man and a couple of boats, he prays that they get to go on them.
"Firs' years! Firs' years o'er here!" The tall man looks down at the demigods. "An' the new ones too, firs' years!"
Just as Percy was about to jump onto one of the boats with Annabeth, Thalia and Nico (Will opted to go on a boat with some first years, he actually looked quite happy about it, Jason, Piper and Leo went on a boat together, the first years did not want to get on a boat with them, Frank and Hazel went on a boat with two first years), he did a double take when he notices a dead-looking horse pulling the carriages.
The horses were whispering things along the lines of:
"My lord, let me pull your carriage!",
"That's the prince! That's him!" and
"Lord, please let us serve you!"
Percy ignored them, he did not want to deal with dead horses today- or any day really. He climbed into the boat along with Annabeth, Thalia and Nico, Thalia and Nico looked very nauseous and were content to be anywhere but on the lake.
"Uh excuse me?" Nico addressed the tall man, "I get very seasick can I go on one of the carriages instead?"
The man laughed, "The name's Hagrid and don't worry, if you fall in I'm sure one of your friends will save you."
Nico came back looking worse than he did before, so naturally, Percy laughed at him. Nico didn't even notice he was that terrified.
"Shut up Kelp Head, this is a real problem!" Thalia said angrily,
"Yeah yeah, but you both look terrified," he teased.
"Seaweed Brain you-"
"-can tease them all I want! Thanks Wise Girl!" he grins and continues to tease Thalia and Nico as they shakily get into the boat.
"Unbelievable," Annabeth shakes her head but a smile is tugging at the corners of her lips.
"Come on guys! Now who wants to go zoom?" he asks, using the water around them to propel them forward.
The boat lurched, and all though Percy could stop it, he didn't want to.
Then, very suddenly a giant tentacle grabbed onto a boat nearby.
In squid language, Percy told the giant squid to put the boat down and it obeyed, obviously, since he's the Prince of the Sea. Although he did get some pretty weird looks, from Hagrid in particular. Oh great, now a very tall man doesn't trust us along with those other three kids from earlier.
------Time skip to arriving at the castle------
"Wow," Annabeth breathed in awe of the giant castle. "It looks almost as good as Olympus," then she quickly covered her mouth, "Schist, do you think anyone heard?"
Percy looks around, "No, I think they're too busy staring at the castle."
"Ok, good," she sighs, "This is going to be very hard isn't it, especially with those three from earlier being suspicious."
"I should have guessed that you would have noticed that," Annabeth rolls her eyes.
"Of course I noticed, Seaweed Brain. It was really obvious."
"Fair enough," he agrees.
Hagrid leads them inside and they meet a stern looking lady wearing a green robe.
"Welcome, I am Professor McGonagall, the Sorting will commence shortly."
"What's the Sorting?" he asks Jason.
"How would I know? I know just as little as you do Perce."
"Jeez, alright Sparky, wait..." Percy's eyes widen, "So you know how the word Jeez comes from Jesus?"
Jason's eyes widen too, catching on to what Percy is saying, "So you're suggesting that since Jesus is God's son, we should create our own word for that?"
"Yes bro!" they fist bump, "I'm thinking we go for Neeks, what do you think?"
"Totally bro, that way we get to annoy him at the same time! This might just be the best idea you've had since I met you."
"Thanks bro."
"No worries bro."
"Will you guys please stop saying bro!" Annabeth turns around to face us.
"Sorry Wise Girl but it's-"
"-bromance!" Jason and Percy say in unison and high five each other.
Now all the first years are staring at them, all of them were staring. Percy's got to admit that it is pretty intimidating.
"What are you staring at?" Nico snapped and they all looked away.
"Neeks, you must be pretty scary Nico." Percy cracks up and high fives Jason.
"Good one bro."
Nico stares at them, "Yes Nico?" Percy asks innocently.
He can see all Hades about to break lose in Nico's expression but stands his ground.
"You-" Nico starts angrily but is interrupted by the arrival of a squad of ghosts. They are arguing amongst themselves before turning to get a look at this years' first years. Then they spot Nico, and all Hades does break lose.
Some ghosts run or drift? away and the ones remaining are spouting things along the lines of:
"My Lord, I wasn't aware you were attending here. Please have mercy, I just wanted to see my family again- Please forgive me, Lord-"
"SILENCE!" Nico's thunders and everyone falls quiet except for the whimpering ghosts. "Begone!" Nico waves his hand as if he is a wizard- oh wait, they basically are at this point- and the ghosts drift away as fast as they can.
"Di Immortales Nico, you can be scary." Frank comments.
"Students!" Professor McGonagall had returned. "It is time for the Sorting!"
