Chapter 4
“Regretting our decisions, are we Sirius?” James looked over at his best friend who lay atop of his sleeping boyfriend and seemed awfully at peace for someone who had missed an essential hockey practice. He walked through the threshold of their apartment dropping his massive hockey bag off somewhere in the already shoe crowded hallway.
“Piss off prongs” Sirius mumbled out from his place on the couch.
“Coach was pissed, you know” James mentioned. Coach wasn’t pissed, coach didn’t even bat an eyelash, coach looked as if he had drunk the night away himself. But James was feeling as though someone had killed his puppy and looking at Sirius go pale from fear was his main source of joy.
“James, that's not funny, '' Sirius said, picking his head up higher to be able to level his best friend with a glare. James didn’t budge.
“Wasn’t joking” he said simply before walking through his bedroom door and shutting it behind himself, in the distance he could hear a now awake Remus and Sirius speaking hurriedly. He crashed onto his bed laughing to himself before taking pity and shooting Sirius a text.
Prongs:
Jokes
Padfoot:
You dickswab
Remus is ready to have words for waking him up
Prongs:
That's on you babydoll
Padfoot:
🖕
He chuckled again before deciding to do something which he swore to himself he wouldn’t. He opened instagram and pulled up Sirius’ page pressing on his ‘following list’ he tried typing in “regulus” but nothing came up. Sirius only had so many followers and so James got to scrolling.
Knowing their relationship, Sirius may not even follow his brother on instagram but James wanted to know more, he wanted to know more so badly (this was probably unhealthy)
He paused when he scrolled past a profile that read, “just.regxlxs” James stared at his phone for a second,
He pressed the profile,
Of Course his account is bloody private
James looked up at his ceiling and considered his options,
He was just curious and at the end of the day it was only right to text someone and apologize for listening in on their private monologue because you were hiding in the stalls behind them, right? He had said something to the boy, but he wanted to justify it a bit more, just out of pure internal need for some validation.
Okay now he was getting ahead of himself.
He didn’t need validation,
He just wanted to make sure Sirius’ brother didn’t feel weird about him hearing what he heard.
But did he really hear anything?
Yes he most certainly did.
But it wasn’t much…was it?
It's enough to ask the lad if he's okay, Potter, get your shit together.
James ran a hand down his face before looking back down at his phone which had gone black he opened it once more staring down at the dark green flowers on regulus’ profile picture.
He requested to follow.
