Night arrives as promised.

Mizi shifts the bag on her shoulder and grunts down the hallway. Her heavy boots echoing with every step. She pauses in front of the door and reaches into her pocket to retrieve her access card.

A beep later, the door shifts open, a pair of vibrant violet eyes laden with a glimmer of mirth greets her.

Mizi's shoulders droop down, her muscles relax, a slow smile creeps into her face.

Sua's nimble fingers greet her into her embrace, Mizi's face finds its way into Sua's neck. Sua's hand falls into the small of her waist while the other threads through Mizi's hair.

It's been a while since she had cut it, it grew past her shoulders.

"Long day love?"

No words dare to creep past her throat to answer the question in fear of breaking the glass of the silence, Mizi nods her head while in Sua's embrace. She receives a sweet giggle in return.

"That tickles Mizi!"

Sua taps her back, nudging her to let go. Mizi plants a peck on Sua's cheek before doing so.

"Have you eaten?"

Mizi shakes her head.

"I'll make you a simple meal, take a shower for now."

Mizi nods and shrugs her jacket off, heads towards the bedroom to retrieve her nightwear.

She walks towards the large window spanning their bedroom wall. The night doesn't seem to sleep. The myriad of lights spilling out from windows of the tall buildings and the space cars whirling by fill the scenery.

It has been 11 fateful years since she was born anew. From being left adrift to taking a lead position in the rebellion, she has come a long way. Her muscles are sore and her heart is heavy, yet a sliver of yearning for what she has lost drives her to keep moving forward. To gain a small pint of the semblance of peace she lost.

The efforts of the rebellion were not completely in vain. Hyuna's goal was to fulfill her comrade's idea to send a cry for help into the universe. They were heard. A distant civilization came forward, about 40% of their population contained humans. They helped restore rights for humans in the forsaken planet she lived in.

Mizi is grateful. The human kind is not forced to live as pets and sing to its death. But a part of her remains incomplete.

Her train of thought is broken by the soft pattern of a knife hitting the cutting board. Mizi gathers her bearings and takes a shower.

She comes back to the living area. A towel ruffles her wet hair, she really needed that shower. Her heart rate picks up as she sees Sua placing a plate of food on the table. She can never get used to seeing her beloved in her space, safe and warm.

Sua turns to look at her, she knows its one of those days. The days Mizi just needs to be held in silence.

Mizi walks and collects Sua in her embrace, Sua's back to her front. Places her chin on Sua's shoulder and kneads at Sua's stomach.

Sua plants a kiss onto the side of her head and turns around to face her. She hold's Mizi's face and just stares at her.

Mizi thinks her face must have attained a shade of beet red. Sua's eyes were otherworldly. She can feel the blanket of warm love wrap around her. She thinks this is enough, all she ever needed is right here.

Sua leans in and kisses Mizi on her eyelashes, a soft lingering kiss. Mizi noted it as one of Sua's favourite places to kiss since their days in Anakt. Sua claimed that Mizi carried her soul in her eyes and her heart in her sleeves.

Mizi leans foward to grab Sua's lips, it was searing. She drinks in Sua's gasp, wraps her arm around her, a hand holding the back of Sua's neck as she deepens the kiss.

Sua huffs endearingly and gently pulls back.

"Eat my love, you need plenty of rest."

Mizi sits down and shovels the food down while Sua recounts her day. She likes to listen to Sua. She likes to see her speak. The lilt of her sweet voice and the raise of her eyebrows. She can never get tired of this view.

After her meal, they gather towards the bedroom overlooking the city. Sua lies down first. She does not expect the way Mizi slams into her and nuzzles into her chest.

"Miziiii," Sua drawls in fake annoyance as the woman burrows into her chest and kneads her stomach again. Sua thinks Mizi might be part-cat.

Mizi extricates herself and lies down facing Sua. Her finger traces Sua's jaw, she slides her arm around Sua's waist.

"Sleep, love. You may take a day off tomorrow."

Mizi nods and begins to get comfortable.

"Good night lo-"

Mizi's vision is assaulted by a harsh red blinking light and a low pattern of beeps.

She sighs, presses her hands to the mattress to lift herself above and over Sua, reaches for the thick cable by the bedside.

She moves Sua's raven hair and attaches the cord to the space in Sua's neck.

The red light shifts to green.

Mizi shifts to lay beside Sua.

Mizi's Sua shifts around in her grave.
