“REGULUS ARCTURUS BLACK GET OVER HERE THIS INSTANT!”, Walburga shouts angrily. I quickly walked over, “y-yes mother?” Walburga scowls and throws letters at her son and says, “Do you want to explain these?”
“Where did you find those?”I asked, a little scared that she may have read them.” Walburga snaps and says, “It doesn’t matter, but what’s inside them does! You are a homosexual?! I raised you better than this Regulus.”
“So what if I am! At least James loves me.” I shout back. In response I get backhanded, and I fall to the ground.
Sirius then shouts, “mother stop!”Walburga shifts her focus to Sirius and spits, “ shut up or you’ll be next boy.”
“Siri it’s fine… nothing she hasn’t done before.” I say starting to get back up. “That doesn’t mean it’s ok Reggie”Sirius says, trying to walk forward but Walburga casts a body bind so he can’t move.
“Mother let me go,” Sirius says.
“No, your punishment is to watch your brother suffer.”she says before pointing her wand at me.
She then casts a lacero curse to open a few cuts in my legs. “Fuck” I shout as the deep cuts open.
“What was that?” she asks.
“N-nothing mother” I say.
Next thing I knew she cast her favorite spell…
“Crucio!” She shouts, and causes me overwhelming pain. I fall to the floor screaming wishing for the pain to stop.
Sirius starts shouting for her to stop but she continues casting it. I feel so far away and can only hear distant screaming which turns out to be my own.
Once I pass out from the pain and blood my mother is finally satisfied with my bloody and beaten body. She casts a few more curses,before letting Sirius go.
She then walks out of the room, and slams the door
Sirius rushes over to me as I cough slowly gaining consciousness again.
“Reggie are you alright? How many fingers am I holding up?” He asked, holding up two fingers.
“Sirius I’m fine she’s done much worse before, and you're holding up two fingers.”
He then helps me up and takes me to the bathroom to help clean up my wounds.
As he’s healing me he says, “so you’re dating my best friend huh?”
“Yeah sorry about that” I say.
“Don’t be James has been happier than ever. I guess that's thanks to you” Sirius says smiling.
“Really? I make him happy?!” I ask, completely bewildered.
“ Of course you do reg. Why do you sound so surprised?”
“Sorry I just didn’t know I could make someone that happy…” I say sounding sad
“ Of course you make him happy, reg… you're an amazing kid and James is lucky to have you.”
“You mean it? You’re not just saying it cause I’m your brother?”
“Yes I mean it reg” he says as he finishes healing my cuts.
“Thanks… I’m gonna go try to send a patronus to James.I’ll be in my room.”
“Wait, I'll come in case mother wants to have a round two” sirius says glumly.
“Ok fine but don't be loud”
I slowly make my way upstairs with Sirius on my heels. Once I make it to my room I cast a silencing charm.
I then turn to Sirius and ask him about a plan he had a while ago.
He immediately lights up and says, "You're serious, you really want to leave?”
I've always wanted to leave. She just always threatened to hurt you siri.”
“You made it out last year, and I still don’t know why you came back to see me. Anyways she can’t hurt you anymore so the only person I'm putting in danger is myself and I can live with that.” i say.
Ok Reggie. I'll get you out tonight and you can come live with the potters and i.
Thanks siri. I'll send a patronus to James so he knows, I say.
I cast the patronus charm and sent a message with it. Soon the black cat is leaping out the window on the way to the potter manor.
Later that night after my mother falls asleep we make our way to the floo network in the house.
We make sure to avoid all the creaky floorboards in the old house, and most importantly we have to hide from kreacher.
Eventually we make it to my fathers study and we get to the floo.
I grab some powder and say, “ are you sure about this siri?”
“Of course, everything will be fine.”
I then throw the powder down and say potter manor.
I stumble out of the floo a little nauseous from the beating I got earlier, but I regain balance when Sirius grabs my arm.
James immediately comes out of the kitchen and shouts, Padfoot!
That excitement is clearly lost when he sees my clothes still bloody and torn from the curses earlier.
"My star what the fuck happend to you?!" James shouts at me. I flinch at the shout but say, "oh nothing just a typical day in the black household."
He doesn't like that answer so he lifts up my shirt and sees the bruises and cuts Sirius wasn’t able to heal by himself.
“Jamie it's fine i say trying to pull my shirt down… siri healed most of it.”
He continues holding up my shirt and then shouts,”mom get your healing kit!’
“Its fine” i say as he leads me to the couch.He cups my face with his hands and says, Reg nothing about this is fine. He then kisses me lightly.I lean my forehead against his until Effy comes in.
“Hi ms potter," I said nervously.
“Darling, call me effy, she says kindly, kneeling in front of me.
She then lifts up my shirt and gasps.
"I'm fine, at least it's better than it was" i say.
Effy then pushes on my ribs lightly and I wince and say please don't do that.
Broken ribs? She asks.
"probably , that's usually the first thing that happens with the cruciatus curse."
"Ok honey take this" she says handing me a green vial.
I instantly ask "what's this". A bit panicked remembering all the times my mother has given me a potion without me knowing.
Relax, my star James says, it's just a potion that will mend your bones.
"ok" . I say taking a sip and feeling tension in my ribs and then instant relief. Effy fixes up the cuts and cleans off the blood, and I looked as good as new. Well other than my torn clothes and scars littering my body from everytime my mother has ever cursed me.
James then leads me to his room and we snuggle up together as he runs his fingers through my hair. Eventually I fall asleep, and for once in my miserable life I'm safe.
